    Timeline for ES events.

Dwemer disappeared sometime around 1E 700, while ESO takes place in 2E 582. As an aside, there were 2920 years in the first era, so Dwemer have been gone a long, long time. Aside from the one that appears in Morrowind, and he could still be in his alternate universe or whatnot still trying to get back home, since Morrowind hasn't happened yet.

As for Snow Elves, they were also largely wiped out in the 1E, before the Dwemer went missing. Any still remaining are in hiding, becoming Falmer or likely already Falmer since they were enslaved by the Dwemer and basically became Falmer because of said enslavement.

I'd love to see Akavir and its races/cultures. There's so little information on it. I think they may be saving it for one day when they feel they've run out of Tamrielic stuff.

As for other races...whether or not they'd be made into playable races, I'd just love to see more lore on them.

I don't believe any other race could actually be playable.

Goblins, Trolls, Falmer, or Ogres are savage races that are lacking intelligence. Snow Elves are just about gone or have turned into Falmer.

Moarmer seem like pirates to me and from the way they have been presented in this game, they care nothing for anyone but themselves.

Dwemer are extinct. Need I say more.

Can't think of much more at the moment.

If they added in the Akaviri races in as a new faction, set up just like the three current factions, I could easily see that working. I would personally love to see it happen, but that would be at least one expansion away, and they definitely have other priorities at the moment. I can hope though.

10 uniques races is more than enough! If other races should be playable, then only through dreams in certain quests.

I think ZOS should hold off on bringing in akaviri races until Bethesda makes a game in akavir or at the very least shows what they look like.

One thing that really confuses me in this thread...

How would a Lamia wear pants or boots?

You'd end up being pretty disadvantaged in the gear department.

They could just wear different scales ^_^

Seriously though, I did a small Google search, and some seem to be wearing stuff from times to times, like dresses, armor looking things, and straps/ornements, so it would be possible, without looking ridiculous :). Not in Eso though, I do not recall Lamia wearing anything in ESO, Dirty girls they are.

"In 2014, a possible bot was sent to coldharbour by a military GM for a crime she didn't commit. This argonian promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Ebonheart underground. Today, still wanted by the developers she survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a bot problem, if no one else can bite you, and if you can find her....maybe you can hire The SQUISHY."

Dremora would be a closer lore friendly player race than a Lamia. In my opinion of course.

Roughly five centuries by the time the game is set. Also, anyone who played through Morrowind should have a pretty solid grasp on what happened to the Dwemer, even if their characters don't.

As I understand it nobody knows, they just disappeared, they might be dead, they might have ascended to another (higher) plane of existance, or they might even have moved through time.

Nobody, not even the Dwemer ghost actually knows.

Well, Giants are both intelligent and non-savage, obviously non-playable, but I thought I'ld get them out of the way.

This would work wonders and sets up an expansion perfectly. Of course they'd probably have another preorder bonus where you can make the races on any alliance.

Would love to play as a daedra too. They can introduce races to fit each crafting style :p

I sort of doubt they do, they would probably be complaining that the Dwemer are too tall to be called Dwarfs, and wouldn't listen to the in-lore explanation.

Mind you the in-lore explanation is terrible, it's very weak, fortunately there are no Dwemer in game, so we don't really need it.

Lamia has my vote too <3 They are the coolest race by far and could add an interesting dynamic to combat with their songs ,petrify and CC(also would add nice flavour to cyrodiil). And seen their role,it wouldn't be too strange to have them around.
They might be a "monster" race. But they are a very intelligent one too.

Eso has focused a lot on motifs ,but to be honest I was never too excited for the styles. I prefer Mazzatun style cause it is the most revealing .So I wouldn't even care not being able to wear pants.Just create a Lamia racial style that automatically drops when you play Lamia, and create different variations of that motif for each of their ranks &units within the great egg army ranks. They could have some kind of alternate advancement system related to the great egg which unlocks new adornments every time they reach a new rank. Or CP1000 might unlock a few monster races.

Without spoiling too much , had a lamia companion during one quest and tried to cover my character with it ,imagining my character was the lamia <3 Thats how badly I'd love to have them playable

For the great egg,the most juicy of eggs
(some say I should just play argonian as i'm half way there, but would you play a breton to be "halfway there" highelf?)

I like the lamia idea too. They are one of the most beautifully animated models in this game, it is a joy to watch them slither around and it would be mesmerizing to get to watch that as your toon, and to get to customize their color schemes, variations of their shape, etc. I don't really give a rat's patoot about whether they are lore-friendly or not considering that ZOS came up with an excellent rationalization for my ability to constantly die and keep coming back. Let them rationalize, they're good at it. I just want cool snake slithers for a toon.
