If you can find a better reason as to why people don't want a better system than exists now, please enlighten me.
I blame it on the previous Elder Scrolls games.
I myself would kill for an AH.
My favorite quote to date: "Because the single player ES games didn't have one."
Well my goodness! Really? Was the player base as big as ESO?
Please tell me this was a joke.....

What I do not see is anyone trying to embrace it.

What I do not see is anyone trying to embrace it. Guilds taking space in Cyrodil and promoting there wears publicly for people to come and buy. The guild having to defend there store where ever they decided to setup shop to keep there own personal economy going. I wonder if that was the thought of the current system but it just wasnt or isnt being done.

Yeah, I join a guild to be with and make friends, friends that I would then rather GIVE items to than sell items to. This whole idea of joining a guild in order to have an audience to sell wares to seems counter to the idea of guilds in the first place.
Auction houses work fine in all other games, hiding behind the gold sellers/botters as an excuse to not have one is silly.

You realize WOW wasn't the first MMO or the first to come up with the idea, right?
I have been playing MMOs since EverQuest launched, so I am aware of what existed and when. I didn't make a statement that WoW was the first. But WoW certainly set the standard for what "Any MMO that wants 13 mill subscribers ought to do." No body cares/remembers who was first, the industry "remembers" who had the highest subscriber base.
If you are going to participate in a constructive debate, you owe the participants the responsibility to read before you respond.
Nevertheless, I am open to returning to this game if ZOS eventually delivers the staple features that contemporary MMO players want and expect..
Excellent, and there you have it.
A bulk of the gaming pool just can't play an MMO without the crutch of some staple features that dumbed down a lot of other games.

Well, it has been well over a month since launch, and I for one think the guild stores are fine. A global auction house would just make things more complicated.

True.
And just for arguments sake I do want a AH, badly. It is second right behind a good banking system.
However, at this point people are going to quit no matter what they do.
Keep Guild stores = people quit.
Switch to AH system = People quit.
ZOS is lazy, so my best guess is we will see no change anytime soon.
Sorry, I did not mean to be a bummer. Please continue the good fight.

You aren't being a bummer at all.
What is bringing people down is the fact that this game is tiresome to play.
The trading guilds don't work very well for most people and it certainly hasn't done a damn thing to slow down the gold sellers.
The inventory/bank system is a joke.
There is no good reason not to have a better way to trade than the embarrassment of the trading guilds/kiosks.
I'm sure that I am not the only one that has the feeling that more people are leaving than signing up.
At first, I didn't like the guild store system because I thought it was restricting my choice in gear that I could buy. It is, but now I realize there just aren't that many gear choices. If the game didn't have such a poor database of loot, an AH would definitely be a necessity but as it stands, I don't think it is that important because there just isn't that much you can buy.
