I'm more worried about what they change and how they rearrange the skills than what they look like.
From a personal point of view, I quite liked the new DK skill animations they showed last night.

I agree, please add those as optional visual styles only - do not force them on everyone!
I liked some of new visuals from reveal stream, but I also like the current Whip moves on my Dunmer... The extra spin is just amazing when it procs on immobile enemy!
The fact that we might lose more of old styles and moves which many players still love is depressing
And please let us have good old Jabs visuals and animations as skill style! Taking this away was awful, and if I only had Templar character, I don't know what I would do :'( I miss my powerful vocals and nice ray of light:
And add a style option to use old Flurry animation, of course.

I haven’t seen anything about disco balls and vomiting unicorns in any of the notes, so I’d assume they aren’t just adding extra effects for funsies.

How I feel every time someone summons a crown store mount - and soon every skill.

The problem is that the new effects are even more exaggerated, and the game is already infested with enough exaggerated effects. We really need less intrusive alternatives, and even ones without lighting effects, just movement and no noise.BardokRedSnow wrote: »
I think they're missing a business opportunity: I'd pay double what you paid for one of those hideous mounts, just to not see or hear them and be able to play in peace.

All we can do is hope that the devs hear us during pts and won't force changes through again with deaf ears.

Honestly, this would be the best way to ask for it.
I definitely think that it is in ZOS’s interest for people to see flashy things because it is in all technicality advertising those things to others. They want people to say “wow, that looks so cool, I want to buy one too!”
Evidently the number of people driven away by the flashiness is acceptable… or people just gripe about it but don’t actually leave.
But with this new scheme of “everything is free, but buy loads of cosmetics!” I’m really expecting we’ll get a lot more flashy before long. If they thought a “Hide Sparkleponies” toggle would sell, it might be a thing.
