Give the people what we really want, a Winterhold expansion in Skyrim. We never got to see it in its full glory in TES V, its basically untouched, and zos can do whatever they want with it storywise, and make up for the story in Solitude which was meh and had nothing really to do with Nords at all, and for the love of Shor, no more of this oh we have an island conveniently divided by three cultures representing every faction slop.

Y'all can do better. Thats what made me wait to see if the content would be worth playing and seems that its a good thing I did.

I am tempted to get eso plus for a month to store all this furniture in the furniture vaults tho.

    Please stop with the ‘we’.

Either have the courage to speak for yourself or refrain from posting.

I have no interest in a Winterhold expansion and have little interest in Nords.

Quite interested in Solstice however, and the differences in the Argonians and Altmer there.

So yea anyways we want to go back to Skyrim, Zos I dont have to tell you how popular the og game was, y'all know where the money is ;)

“The OG game?” You mean Arena?

Because Skyrim was the fifth mainline Elder Scrolls game, you know that right?

I highly doubt many people have played or remember TES 1: Arena these days. Or Battlespire, Redguard and TES 2: Daggerfall (still my favorite TES game to this day, despite it being a buggy mess).

No, not really. I've done a few Stirk quests, but... why the smeg isn't there a usable wayshrine for travelling out??
Also also... it's ever so much fun going between the armourer quest giver and the crafting tables 6 times... /s

As someone else said... there are only so many fetch quests you can do. I'm yet to try a camp defence or anything else because I saw some rather negative feedback before I could start.

There is a major disconnect ZOS really expected us to do the same fetch quests for 20 to 30+ days straight with little to no incentive to repeat the quests that this entire event hinges on the player doing. I don't know this entire event has been a shitshow so far and its sad.

I absolutely have not enjoyed the first or second day. The rewards are underwhelming to put it mildly, the quests are tedious and set up to complete with other players for kills combined with abysmal drop rates.

I decided that I will do 3 quests on main daily to get the golden boxes for a few more days and that's it. Have a look at phase 2 and phase 3, but otherwise absolutely not worth it.

Yesterday however I had to do these quests early in the morning before work and found I almost enjoyed them:

People are not camping the camps, everyone waits at the way shrine and moves on when the camp becomes active so most people arrive there at the same time and go through the soul reapers one after another instead all at once. A much nicer and smoother experience.

The past few days I worked out most of "my own" spots where to get fat, leather, undead bits etc. from and that went quickly. Nothing exciting, but nowhere close to the bad experience of the first 2 days. And no issue with drop rates at all. Within 50 minutes I did all 24 quests on my main.

The whole event is nothing but slop so far, similarly to u46 and everything that followed, the decline is obvious and is speeding up at at a frightening pace. There's is not a single thing that is not bugged in this event: active camps despawning, lense progress going backwards (it's being deconstructed). Progress bar artificially bumped without any concern for subtlety. Encounters are nothing but base game enemies with boosted health: no damage, no aoe debuffs/attacks to deal with the zergs, no mechs. The only rewards are a pet and a mount for golden pursuit that you can get in a day without even trying, rewards for event encounters and dailies are complete garbage. etc etc

Daggerfall was a lot like ESO back before the MMO days: you had an entire world to explore and you could literally go to any country and start there.
Of course, there they had to resort to procedurally generated maps for that to happen. Still better than Starfield, though.

+1 on the Wayshrine, I’m not keen on being REQUIRED to port to a friend, guildie, or owned house near a Wayshrine.

But I can help with the craft table back-and-forth: you can craft what you need in advance. So you can craft your 3 Resto Staves, 3 Bows, 3 Axes, 2 Epaulets and 2 Arm Cops and 2 no 3 Helms no that’s broken too all at once and then just go back to the guy once and turn them all in. Just like crafting writs, except he doesn’t ask for different things on different days. If you have the inventory space you can even do enough for a couple days: log in, turn in, log off. (Full disclosure: I can’t remember if that will change for Phase 2/3.)

This October is packed with activities. Two events ("Battle for the Writhing Wall," "Witches Festival") and the "Golden Pursuits". I thought i would be close to a burnout. ZOS's announcements about the community event were promising, and I was a bit excited. But what a disappointment. Okay, the Golden Pursuits can be completed casually during the community event, but the event itself is a huge disappointment and the loot tables are ridiculous.
      ninibini wrote: »

      • you have to fight other players for kills to get the quest items, mobs spawn far too slowly, and not every mob drops a thing
      • the siege camps are bugged a lot, most of the time you won't make it in time to one that is up if you're not close by. and if you stay at one to wait it out, it's highly likely that it won't even start, and auto disappear right after (which just happened to me 3 times in a row at 2 different camps).
      • the blue box rewards are trash (I already had full sticker book). there's no reason to do more than the gold box quest.
Where is the craftsman in the camp where I can buy crafting stones and repair my gear (yes, I know, I can do that myself).

Now i look forward and I'll focus on the Witches' Festival to farm recipes that no one needs anymore.
ZOS will probably have to manipulate ... uh, I mean, check the synchronization of ... the server counters again

But the community event also has something positive: According to ZOS, it's a one-time event and will never happen again.

Still undecided at this point, what i am not enjoying is seeing ZoS value my efforts less than if I was playing on XBox or PS, if i max out my dailies i will impact the PCEU score significantly less than if i was doing it on either of those other platforms - feels like it's a set up for Xbox or PS to win in the server vs server battle.

i was.going to play on both Xbox and PC but might just stick to Xbox if we're going to win.
I'm using the event to level up my Nightblade so I can multi class. Not interested in rewards or imaginative new gameplay. Good old fashioned grind please. However, I saw very few other players to compete with for furs etc.

It's ok in some ways. In others, it's breaking my game. Let me explain:

I'm always up for new content, so much so that I grabbed the pass without a second thought because I always pay for the new chapters ahead of time. I love supporting you guys for bringing us fun, engaging content.

I love that it's a community event! We all have to work together and blast out these tasks for overall progression. I don't mind the Golden Pursuit coinciding with it, and appreciate the rewards. Allowing 6 tasks per task giver per toon is overkill to me, but I'm sure others are loving it and tearing it up every day. I'm glad they're happy with it and that's enough for me.

What I absolutely despise, though, breaks the game for me. I burn out on these tasks pretty quickly, and I can't even complete my normal public dungeons or delves when I try to decompress by going back to normal solo content because your "invaded" aspect replaces the bosses entirely. You should never have replaced achievement-related bosses. Now I have to wait for the event to end to (hopefully) have my bosses back. Progression has completely halted for those of us who don't want to deal with your event, even if it's for a temporary break. You are pushing people to log off and stay logged off for the duration of the event when the frustration overwhelms any positivity someone may have had for your game.

Further, while doing collection quests, you know the overland drop is insanely low. You like to say that it's working as intended, but you're clearly missing the mark of how many people are venting about your implementation in DM, alliance chats, Discord, etc. You KNOW those areas are getting spammed with a ton of players, many of whom are getting increasingly frustrated with not being able to get done with either the first 3 gold drops or all 6 quests per quest giver QUICKLY. Do the math: One run of 15 souls done anywhere other than Village of the Lost or similar PDs takes WAY too long. Gathering fat/essences/sap/furs? Nah. You're fighting against the rest of your community to be the fastest, get the kills first, because heaven forbid they want to group up and share kills. What should have been a community fostering event has turned into more cutthroat solo content, and people are tired.

People have real lives, real jobs, real families to pay attention to. We don't have several hours a night to grind through your event. Please pop soul, fat, sap, essences, etc to 100% so we can get done and get back to enjoying our games without fighting each other for a drop. I don't care what community server wins, I care that I don't lose great people because they are so frustrated with your implementation that they take breaks from the game over this.

Yes, we've started losing people already. They noped out when they saw how abysmally low the overland drops were. I've tried to help guide people to faster drops as a team but that will only work with people who are willing to NOT go solo. Maybe in the grander scheme of things, soloers don't matter to others. IDK. I just know that this isn't working well, but it is what it is right now. If you want genuine feedback ^^^^^^ there it is.

my issues with the event right now is that there is little variety, and poor rewards for repeating quests

the blue event boxes are 98% just hot garbage that dont offer anything other than standard quest rewards, i mean repeat crafting dailies gives you some mats thats almost worse than a standard daily writ, so outside of the gold box theres little incentive to repeat the quests

the only reason i say 98% is very seldomly ive gotten the haj mota fragments or master writs from blue crafting boxes, but its too rare to be worth doing all 5 or so repeats of the crafting daily

the quest for getting specific drops from enemies in specific areas is about the worst possible style quest that can be done for an event, especially when the drops are rare-ish, and competing with other players for kills

the vitrified souls quest is pretty easy and alright, but again rewards are not great especially for blue boxes

the siege camps are about the most fun thing in this event, but they require people to have the content pass for it, and i think most people are already getting burned out on it since its basically just alikr dolmen farming (i took advantage of the fact we could get 5 siege camp dailies per character to finish all of the new achievements for these since they are going to be a permanent fixture after this event)

the tl;dr of this is repeat quest rewards are very poor, and the lack of variety of quests, but overall more or less standard event

This whole "historic event" is highly underwhelming. Rewards are junk (I can farm mats on my own thank you ESO). NO good drops, the quests are dull, the daily quests are grindy and boring (rinse and repeat x 6 times each really?). There is no creativity or thought put into quests to keep players engaged. This is not "historic" but imho over-hyped and this is only Phase 1. I now just log in get 3 golden rewards (all garbage) and log out, there are many other games that respect their customers play time (and money)far more than ESO does. The Dev team "hyped" this up and lost the plot, are losing players.. and frankly have an "I don't care" attitude just keep "giving us money" feeling. Pretty sad because I did want to re-love ESO with this whole thing.

Today, I was watching Japanese youtuber's live stream. But mostly same negative opinion like here.

      1. Quest item drop rate is unreasonably low.
      2. People were staying same narrow zone too much, then can't get quest item effectively.
      3. Simply people are bored. Without massive reward, they don't want to play such a chore.
      4. After 2 days later from event launching day, people only get golden box and quit farming.
      5. They think that this event will not work like developer's thought.
      6. Simply old style DLC was good. Don't need long period chore event.
      7. People will not fill achievement until event end.

I can’t get past just how BAD the ‘rewards’ from the blue boxes are - a single bit of equipment I already have?! [snip]

This is beyond awful. I hope whomever thought these ‘rewards’ would be sufficient is given a good grilling as to what they thought this would achieve. If I performed this poorly at work I’d be in deep trouble.

After a few days of doing this, I've just decided to do the bare minimum to got the the gold reward boxes, then I'm finished for the day.

As they rowed back from 4 Gold boxes to 3 with the crafting quest and collect furs, fat etc tied together, then no more fur collecting quests. Additionally as there are a full set of crafting station in the solstice camp, you can complete the quest (and get its associated gold box) in around a minute or so. As to the others the drop rate of vitreous souls is good enough at the camps that you can do both quests simultaneously. After a few camps you are done for the day.

I know doing it like this destroys the spirit of the event, but it is so appalling to do that it is a case of finding the least tedious way to get through it. Especially as the blue boxes contain little of any use beyond Deconstruction fodder.

By the way, on the login screen it says the event only lasts another week, Straight to the Witches festival as well perhaps?

Voted for "no" now. While the incursions were fun for a few days, even those are slowly getting boring (and the other stuff was already boring before).

The only thing entertaining is the story quest, but that's not really part of the event but the regular quest #6 of the main storyline, so that doesn't count.
