No worries and thanks for the feedback, @Defatank. Funny enough, I was talking to someone at the studio about Transmutation Crystals. So we are going to get that to the powers that be to consider for future QoL features.

@ZOS_Kevin @Defatank there is already a method to 'using up' transmutation crystals. You Transmute a simple item to Nirnhoned e.g. an Iron Axe -> Iron Axe(Nirnhoned) then Deconstruct the item. This gives you back the Nirnhoned trait stone which you can then store or sell to other players - essentially converting transmute crystals into gold by player trading.

I think the cap could likely slightly increase and there are things which would be nice to do with transmute crystals but there are so many other issues which should be addressed before this.

However if you really want to make a positive change to this system allow deconstruction of reconstructed items to give you both the 25 transmutes AND their upgrade mats (ideally 100% but 75% would be ok if you want some 'cost' to the system outside of the enchant on the item). This way you could create gear with relative ease and no longer have to 'store' reconstructed 'upgraded' items. This would be a welcome change and would ease the burden on banked items.

Bug 1 - I know they exist and I know the team loves squashing them, but I honestly can't think of a single bug.
    Bug 2 - ^
    Bug 3 - ^
    Bug 4 - ^
    Bug 5 - ^

    Top Pain Points
    • Pain Point 1 - I'd like a search bar when crafting furniture so I can find items by name/style, ie: "Alinor", "Colovian". It's frustrating trying to find specific items at times.
    • Pain Point 2 - A fast and easy way to dismiss pets (sorc specifically). Going into the menu, scrolling then right clicking is just a pain in the bum.
    • Pain Point 3 - A way to turn off nameplates in homes without having to turn them off in the world. The names above NPCS in homes take a bit of immersion away. I keybind this now, but it gets tiresome.
    • Pain Point 4 - Master writs are a pain to do not being able to craft a number at a time, for fast/easy/time saving turn ins. Personally, I'd like a Rollis we can summon JUST to turn in master writs, not purchase from. Trying to get a large number of master writs at 6 a time is demotivating.
    • Pain Point 5 - Not enough Sotha Sil in game...not really a pain point, but it kinda is for me.

    1. Quick cast target ground AoEs sometimes fails to complete when performing other actions. So a weird thing happens where the target ground AoE ability will cast, but then it will show it's AoE highlight again as if I'm preparing to cast it as if quick cast is turned off, and this causes the AoE ability cast again no matter which ability I try to cast from the bar. This makes light attack weaving/dps worse, and it causes me to waste resources double casting the same ability. Please PLEASE fix this.
    2. Necromancer Empowering Grasp ability only applies to one summoned pet, instead of both the Mage and the Mender.
    3. Necromancer Skeletal Arcanist ability buff timer sometimes disappears early despite the summon being alive for several more seconds, making it confusing to know when it needs recast.
    4. When blastbones from either ability or ultimate deal enough damage to a delve boss, it seems to treat it like someone else did 99% of the damage to the boss and you just happened to hit it. So you get only gold as loot, instead of the normal item drops from killing the boss.

    Top Pain Points
    1. Necromancer Animate Blastbones ultimate is too difficult to use and costs too much ultimate: Please remove the revive mechanic to this morph, and instead reduce the ultimate cost. Also make these Blastbones summons have longer duration, so you can summon them outside of combat and run into a fight.
    2. Necromancer corpses disappear too soon, maybe increase their duration by a few seconds, like 3-5 seconds.
    3. Overland combat mechanics don't matter, you can just stand in the red circles and take minor damage.
    4. All traps in the game are disappointing, make people have to actually use their brain to solve puzzles, not just walk through spike traps, gas chamber, lava, etc.
    5. Fishing should have more rewards, not just during events, and a more fun fishing mini-game would be nice.

After the last of PTS changes, my Top Pain Points 1 and 2 were made so much worse that I no longer play Necromancer. So I would like to offer alternative pain points:

    Top Pain Points
    1. Nightblade Summon Shade doesn't use my character model, so how is it my shadow? This should be easy to fix since there is a quest where you use Rhajin's Mantle that summons a shade who does use my character model (same height, face, race, body proportions, although still not the same hairstyle/facial hair/armor, but I better than summoning a shadow that not even the same race as my character...):
Quest shade uses parts of my character's model:
      cmedn801cesw.png
Nightblade shade uses nothing from my character lol:
      v5z93mtral8l.png
    2. Nightblade Leeching Strikes icon on the ability bar doesn't glow when at 10 stacks, it would be nice if it could be made to glow like grim focus does at max stacks.
    3. With subclassing coming to the game, the need for skillpoints has grown significantly, and even now, you are unable to earn enough skill points to max all skill lines. Please add more sources of skill points, or even account-wide skyshards for every 10 or so champion points earned.

My post was not sarcastic. Subclassing will have a very negative affect on how I play. My characters were all developed with a strong sense of class identity, and now they are being nerfed to be a weaker version of what they once were, all for a feature I do not want and will not use. This is the single worst change I've seen in this game and I'd give it even more pain point votes if I could.

Agree completely. The out-of-touch developer commentary has only intensified this new pain point. Subclassing does not expand class identity. It dissolves it. For those of us who valued coherence—mechanical, thematic, visual—this system offers nothing but fragmentation. It takes something already strained and pulls it further apart.

    1. Sub-classing
    2. Hybridization
    3. Templar jabs animation(visual), the old version looked so much better
    4. Cross-healing
    5. Ball groups, idk how to fix it but it need addressing

1 - Battlegrounds. As a player who has taken over a year or so out of the game, to come back to AvA Battlegrounds is really off-putting. I do like the changes in team numbers, and the new maps are really good (Port Dufort is absolutely amazing). But if you end up with a bad team, or a match which is unbalanced, those matches are not fun. Could teams be swapped mid game for solo queues? And in group queues the losing team gain some kind of buff (kinda like continuous attacks) and it could last until the score is tied? Also in the death match game, having a set amount of lives doesn't seem to add anything positive to the game from a player point of view. If you're winning you end up just waiting for the last person to spawn, then when they drop down they just get steamrolled by the enemy team. Equally if you're the last alive from your team, you don't stand a chance, there's no scenario I've ever seen where you could bring it back and win the match.

2 - Mount progress on new characters, the experience of making a new character is tarnished by the infuriating snails pace your mount goes at.

3 - Vampire skill line does not feel like it's in a good place, people are just staying as level 1 to get blood for blood, or level 2 for the spell damage buff. Undeath passive is no longer worth the negatives which come with stage 3 imo, and I have yet to speak with someone outside of a roleplaying guild who uses level 4.

4 - Ball groups, as fun as it can be to play in one, it's not a fun experience for those on the other end. I think cross healing needs to be looked at when in a group. Perhaps "Reduce healing by X% per group member" or something to balance the raw power and buff stacking these groups are able to achieve.

5 - Destruction staff dependency, currently all people use in cyrodiil is lightning front bar and ice staff back bar. Ice staff is used by so many builds. The pain point I have with this is flame staves and ice staffs used to be used for some really fun and interesting builds. I remember ice staff wardens were really cool, and flame staff would synergize really well with flame clench for ranged builds. But now the staves doing different things based on the element has made It so I'd be missing out on 12% damage if I used anything other than a lightning staff. In an ideal world I want to be able to have a flame staff with the damage increase, or the option to select the bonus of my staff through passives.

Bonus point which is really tiny in comparison

Can we please get The Masters Flame Staff style (I literally made one in real life as I've used it for 9 years 😂)

Well here is my current Top 5 Pain Points:
    1. Inventory & Storage Space
    2. Immersion
    3. Content
    4. Grind for example the style material for Alinor furniture
    5. Monetisation & FOMO

    Honorable mention:
    • The UI
    • The companion AI
    • Questlimit

I will now go over the points in more detail.

    1. Inventory & Storage Space:
Yes I do have a messy inventory and I do not want do give away anyting I might still need later for an alt.
I have problems to see what I need where and I can't store all my stuff. Yes the new furniture storage helps but it is a drop on the hot stone.

    2. Immersion:
As for immersion, it just does not feel like I am a part of the wolrd and the world does not freel "real". I just played TES4 Oblivion Remaster and yes you see it's from 2006 and just got some new visuals. But still the world feels so much more immersive.
    • The NPC's have a sceduale and yes that might be annoying in an MMO.
    • In TESO every city is build with MMO Hub function in mind not natural city flair. And the zones of the bace game in general... Newer Chapters have a lot better world designe that feels more natural but it is still lacking.
    • And don't forgett all the loading screens! Especially between zones... WoW did this better in 2004!
    • Yes first person camara also is huge when it comes to immersion! And the one implemented was added based on demand, but it never felt natural and the game does work better with 3rd person camera.
    • Then you have the vendors in the game that have a fixed standard inventory. Trading feels so MMO like and not like hey this is the shop of someone.
    • The conversation system. The recent addition for different ways top answer is a welcome addition, but it still does not yet feel like it's me/my character.

    3. Content:
Well I just need more wolrd and (solo)dungeons and locations to explore. I need the places I visit fleshed out and not just someplace where the immersion is falling appart when I want to go somewhere where I am not supposed to go. And I do not need a quest for everything! Having well written quests is nice and I want those too! But sometimes I just want to explore without and quest to fulfill.
And no some repetative, mindless and pointless grind activety is not fun to me.
Also why does fighting a single enemy in other games feel so much better than an entire group in TESO? So many trashmobs are just that: Trash! And defeating them does not feel good or rewarding. I rarly pay these days so I do not have a dungeon or raid group. Playing with randoms is pain, so I do solo content for the most part. And combat is not fun when it is to hard to do alone or to easy. I always enjoyed the veteran content for dungeons and raids. And I do not have solo content that is a fun dungeon that is both nice to explore and offers meaningful, fun fights, that I can win without an op solo build. I know some players do Veteran and/or DLC 4 player dungeons solo.

    4. Grind:
Well the Grind for some materials you need for things like housing is just painful. The style material for the Alinor furniture is something I need in masses but the dailys are something I cannot see anymore, yet I need so much of that stuff. And no I do not want to buy it from other players or the finished furniture from the shop.
Also getting some furniture plans is just pain as well as leads and so many other things you need for decorating your houses.

    5. The monetisation & FOMO:
Well we pay 60€ for each Chapter or now season pass, on top If you want to play you almost need the sub. Since it is otherwise way to painful without it. At least for me with all the limitations.
I understand the game needs to make profit! But why do so many things need to be only for a limited time? Where is the harm in offering stuff always? We are talking digital goods here!
On top there are so many other systems in the game that want me to be in the game every day and do specific things, that might not be fun, yet still give the best or wanted rewards. I perfer a game that is letting me choose when I want to play it and that lets me gain whatever I want during that time. Having some rewards for playing only in specific time windows and having to do stuff for them that I do not enjoy is not fun.
Also if I pay 60€ the amount of a game for a big player home and I cannot furnish it in the detail I want, something is wrong!
And paying for comfort, is when it comes to space (inventory space or furniture limit) also a problem! You pay extra with ESO+ and you still do not have the space/slots you need tp feel good.

    Honorable mentions next.
    The UI:
Well what am I to say... It is getting better at some places but it likely will never be perfect.
    • It is good that the map got cleaned up and I finally am able to open the zone map of places like Galen again! Not so good that I have to open the zone map to choose the port locations. A more seemless map zoom might be a welcome addition.
    • We still do not have time stamps in chat!
    • We still don't have a faction window where I can see where my characters have joined up and what rank they have.
    • We still have this menue where the character is turnung whenever you open character windows or inventory with the benefit that we can walk while it is open, unless you stoped walking and do so again. Then it closes and you have to open it again... I often miss a porper window where the stuff is inside. One I can open an close without my gamplay getting disturbed.
    • The new subclass menue is well... How do I undo the choice of a subclass from within the skill menue?
    • The UI fading in an out was never pretty. I was never a big fan of it. But having played other games like the Oblivion Remaster recently, I more than ever want a UI that fits the game world! One that is is not just functional. A good UI is enhancing immersion and not breaking it. The UI of TESO is breaking it.

    The Companion AI:
They stand in "stupid" zones all the time. They can't fill in a role proper. They can't play many boss mecanics like focus damage something.

    The Questlimit:
Well only having 25 quests active at a time is annoying.... Why only have 25? Some I keep in my questlog for later. The mainquest starts automatic and is not removable. So you only have 24.

I have an additional pain point - this only applies to PVE solo but it does have a pretty heavy impact on my enjoyment so I think it's worth mentioning.

Visual armor effects - like Hexos' Ward - I wish I could disable these at least for myself. I don't mind if other people can see them for recognition, but... I really don't need a blaring yellow vibration field showing me my character has a damage shield. She has several that go up throughout a fight and the blue-covered health bar is plenty to indicate that to me.

It's just visually distracting and kinda makes it hard to even see my character beneath the 'noise'.

And related to the above (I'm sorry I clicked send before I thought of this one) -

It would be nice if we could hide or tone down 'noisy' skill abiilities, at least for ourselves as players.

Ex: Lightning Form - stuff that basically overtakes your character appearance entirely. I didn't spend time, gold and IRL money in many cases to make my character look nice just to have them disappear under a haze of VFX.

“Honorable mention” is just an idiom. It is often used to highlight things that didn’t make the official “top” list but are still worth noting. It doesn’t imply praise or positivity in this context. Here, it’s used a bit ironically to call attention to additional frustrations that didn’t quite crack the top five but are still aggravating enough to mention.

Since this thread is still on-going, I have 5 more pain points that have becomes especially more painful with sub-classing.
    1. ZOS's priorities of putting a cap on Necromancer pets to reduce server strain rather than addressing this:

      7xeeLMu.png
      is insane
    2. Subclassing has brought a noticeable increase in (more powerful) PvP bombers. That we still are allowing rush of agony to ignore the game's core CC rules is terrible
    3. While I like the idea of sub-classing, that our original core class grants us nothing put an end to class identity, which is something I do not like at all.
    4. Looking at Solstice and comparing that with Wrothgar or Morrowind or Summseret makes it clear to me ZOS's priorities are not in delivering the quality of content in ESO that it used to. Somehow I am still paying the same, yet receiving noticeably less.
    5. I like my Arcanist. I really do. There is no way it should generate crux while using it (Beam).

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I'm an immersion/roleplay-first sort of player, so my pain points are probably going to be weird and niche for the most part. These are the things that have been gnawing at the back of my mind when I play, however, so I may as well share them.
    1. Foolish Player Dialogue: There are a few threads about this one right now (and I even made a post about this years ago), and I was happy to see this generally improve over the last few years. Alas, with the first half of Solstice, we're back to asking basic questions like "What is the Stirk Fellowship?" when we're a founding member, or having entire conversations where most of our dialogue choices are parroting back the NPC's lines as questions ("Soul Reapers?" "A council of war?" "Dark powers?"). In the past, it was easy to say that you need a way to onboard players into the story and setting--which I maintain can still be done with different phrasing, and which the team at ZOS was doing fairly well these past few updates--but this is a direct sequel. These dialogue choices feel punishing specifically for players who have followed the story faithfully.
    2. Nonsensical Quest Placement: The big offenders here are prologue quests. Tamriel is supposed to be a big continent, so when you have NPCs placed in locations that are far from wherever the main quests take place, or when quests take you across the world (and often over the ocean) on a fast-traveling horse, it makes the world feel that much smaller. I think the biggest offender here is the High Isle prologue quest, which has Lady Arabelle camped out in Vvardenfell of all places, and then has you racing urgently back and forth across Tamriel two or three times. I'm to believe that I make it in the nick of time no matter what, regardless of whether I'm a portal-slinging mage or a warrior who has to take a boat? I understand the need to make travel convenient, but this makes the world feel so tiny. If you have to keep the most recent prologue like this, where the quest givers hang out all over, at least continue to shuffle the old prologue quest starters to places where they make more sense, like you did a few years ago. (The quest starter for Craglorn starting in Bangkorai? See, that makes sense!)
    3. Nonsensical Travel Routes: I appreciate that you can make it pretty much anywhere in continental Tamriel on foot--that's a huge win for us wanderers. I just wish the navigator network made more sense. All of the base game zone navigators are organized by quest order rather than geography, which sometimes works out (Ebonheart Pact) and sometimes is nonsensical (how is it that the main boat service from Auridon only takes you to landlocked Elden Root and Rawl'kha?). One of my joys in Morrowind was planning travel around the island, and the fact that we have navigator NPCs but their destinations makes no sense is frustrating.
In my ideal world, using navigator NPCs should be interesting and a little complicated: There should be no direct service between alliance zones, as the alliances are at war. You shouldn't be able to take a boat to a city with no dock. The three alliance capitals shouldn't be lined with carriages to every single DLC zone. If players want to jump straight to the DLC zones, they can use wayshrines, which are unlocked as long as you own the DLC anyway.
That said, there may be people who like the navigators how they are, and I don't want to take away something others are using. So, at the very least, please make sure there's always a navigator connection between any two adjacent zones. Connect Woodhearth and Skywatch or Vulkhel Guard. Connect Vivec City and Necrom. Let me take a cart from Leyawiin to Rimmen.
And more intra-zone navigators would be nice, like the silt strider services in Vvardenfell and Telvanni Peninsula. You have no idea how many times I wished I could hop on a ferry between Auridon's major cities.
(Incidentally, I also made a thread about this...)
    4. Time of Day: This is a small problem that would take a ton of work to fix, so I'm not optimistic, but it bothers me that I have no control over the time of day when I do things. Yes, I know the shops are all open 24/7, but I wish I could have my characters wait/sleep at night and do their business in the daylight like sane people (or vice versa, if their business happens to be shady). Obviously, in-game time needs to be synced to server time for game mechanic reasons--I think? Does Dark Stalker still have an added effect at night, or was that changed when vampires were overhauled?
Well, if there isn't a mechanical reason, maybe it would be fine to let us wait and not necessarily have time of day synced between players.
A more difficult but better-feeling fix would perhaps be to allow players to wait in increments of 6 hours, and have different megaserver instances synced to one of four times at any given moment. If you wait, it slides you along to an instance that's ahead of you.
This would open up the possibility of more in-depth NPC schedules, which could then be used to make interesting stealth-based quests and activities in the future. Think about it...
    5. Persistent Visual Effects: There are too many noisy visual effects that can't be canceled. I don't even mind the skills and crazy mounts that much, but it bothers me that mundane actions like dodging and blocking stick an effect on you. I understand the mechanical purpose they serve, but I would adore a way to toggle these effects off.

Just want to preface this by saying, I have just recently returned to the game after being away for awhile and am really enjoying ESO overall.

That being said, there have been a few stand out issues that tend to re-occur, such as…

    Bugs/Issues
    1. Stuck in combat.
    2. Failure to activate quest objectives in 3rd person.
    3. Health bar desych when getting hit with Snipe/Silver Leash.
    4. Abilities not registering input in large scale content.
    5. Falling under the map in Battlegrounds maps.

    Pain Points
    1. Lack of Crossplay in 2025.
    2. Dyes not keeping their color irregardless of texture.
    3. Excessive animations. When animations were more simple, skills were more iconic and identifiable. Arcanist animations are too much, along with a lot of the newer mounts.
    4. Not having enough Guild content. (even more painful after replaying Oblivion)
    5. Oversimplification of combat, like the near-removal of animation canceling and the addition of all of these new high yield, low APM builds.

Other than the few issues I’ve mentioned, the game feels great! I am very confident in the direction you guys are heading, with the addition of Scribing and now Subclassing.

    1) Free character re-customization for ESO Plus players or gold sink.
    2) Better/more Storage/Inventory
    3) Much improved ways to use collectibles/emotes
    4) Complete overhaul of Crown Store so we don't have to wait for crate items to randomly appear again. If I've paid for a years sub, I should have the luxury of playing the game when I want without hovering around the game to constantly check if the item I want from a past crate is returning or not. The FOMO system is infuriating and infantilising.

Really only one thing that's half-bug and half-pain point. I'm sure the devs have heard this a lot but Eidetic Memory. There are still way too many books that have no post-quest location and don't need to be read to advance their quests (and a couple from Gold Road that apparently literally do not exist anywhere). Some show up silently in the quest items section of the inventory (I don't even think they show up in loot history if it's toggled on, or if they do I'm just blind), which means you'd need to know to look there. I try to remember to, and there's still some I'll miss.

Bookshelf-only books are a pain, but mostly because of how much pure luck they are. Some bookshelves take 168 real-life hours before they will show something else for that character.

Every book in the Eidetic Memory section should be guaranteed to have at least one permanent location, whether or not it's part of a quest or has to be read to advance a quest. With bookshelf-exclusives, if ZOS is really hellbent on keeping this in place, then at least fix the refresh rate on shelves. Maybe once a day, maybe after every zone change, maybe even make it possible to get something different the next time you activate the shelf without even moving.

And when a new zone or chapter comes out, you could reasonably have one or two people right before release check over every new book added and make sure it's available somewhere permanently. The whole process could take an hour, if even.

A lot of other problems I've seen over the years have actually been resolved. Mail still occasionally hangs in purgatory, but it's better than it was even only a few years ago. Books are really my only major complaint still.

A lot of negativity around subclassing here. Just wanted to chime in and say I love it. Wish we could subclass more than 2 lines from the same class though

Where is the support for Cyrodiil PvP? How about fixing or removing RoA from Cyrodiil? How about limiting heal and shield stacking in PvP groups?

We were forced to endure another questionable "test" with vengeance mode under the premise that the information gathered would be used to improve current live Cyrodiil. Well?

Why haven't we seen anything, anything at all to improve the lives of those of us who still PvP main? (vengeance mode will be a massive failure over time and it's a totally different experience than current live Cyrodiil. The PvP mains won't stick around for it.)

    MAJOR PAIN POINT:

Kick From Guild is the first option for the dropdown when I click on someone in group. Please, please put that at the bottom!

My number one pain point in this game is that everything sold in the crown store, for the most part, tends to be character-bound and not account-wide.

I'm referring to skyshards, armory slots, outfit slots, mount riding lessons, skill line skips, etc.

If I pay a ton of money, which each of these purchases are WAY more money than they should be, I believe they should be account wide. That would make those prices make sense. As they are currently, they are VERY consumer-unfriendly.
