None of the "Anniversary Adventures" Golden Pursuit tasks include PvP

...unless you count the two tasks for completing Tales of Tribute matches, which can only be done in the Player vs Player matchmaking queue. I know we just had two Golden Pursuits dedicated to PvP (one for Whitestrake's Mayhem and the next for the Cyrodiil Champions test) but is there really nothing PvP-exclusive for players to do this Golden Pursuit? Why should we bother with Cyrodiil, Imperial City, and Battlegrounds if none of the tasks require us to go there?

This is supposed to be a celebration of ESO's anniversary, which should include all areas of the game — not just questing, Tales of Tribute, Dungeons, Trials, Arenas, overland content, the Infinite Archive, and crafting. PvP is a significant part of this game, too.

This is something I also stand by during PvP events. Most players think the game revolves around the type of content they enjoy, and they get upset when that content isn’t included. This is a multicontent type of game.

Not sure if you are serious or if this is just satire.

It would make me happy if there were some “kill X number of players” or “do Y amount of siege damage” instead of group dungeons and trials. I’m trying to find time to do them all while still doing PvP.

We have to do 20 different things, they could just add a few PvP ones.

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Several of the current Golden Pursuits can be completed in Cyrodiil:

    - Complete 5 Quests
    - Complete 15 Quests
    - Earn 10 Anniversary Jubilee Gift Boxes
    - Complete 15 Daily Quests
    - Complete 25 Daily Quests
    - Claim 5 Rewards from the Daily Login Calendar
    - Claim 10 Rewards from the Daily Login Calendar
    - Claim 15 Rewards from the Daily Login Calendar
    - Complete 5 Incursions
    - Complete 10 Incursions
    - Destroy 5 Dark Anchors
    - Craft 20 Items with any skill
    - Craft 50 Items with any skill
    - Craft 10 Items with the Alchemy skill
    - Craft 10 Items with the Clothier skill
    - Craft 10 Items with the Blacksmithing skill

That's 16 Golden Pursuits which can be completed without leaving Cyrodiil, if Cyrodiil is where you prefer to spend nearly all of your in-game time. The fact that they don't specifically involve PvP and can just as easily be completed outside of Cyrodiil doesn't negate the fact that you can complete them in Cyrodiil if you wish.

You'll still need to leave Cyrodiil to claim your event tickets, since the cake memento won't work in Cyrodiil (at least, I don't think it will; I haven't actually tried it). And while you can complete enough Golden Pursuits to earn the statue, you'll need to do at least 4 more Golden Pursuits outside of Cyrodiil to earn the costume.

Basically, what I'm trying to point out is that the majority of these Golden Pursuits are (in my opinion) accessible or "friendly" to players who prefer to spend most of their time in Cyrodiil, which seems a lot better than if most of them could not be completed in Cyrodiil and forced players to spend a lot of their time outside of Cyrodiil.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I’d wager this is at least in part a response to—or ironic echo of—the many threads that popped up when that happened. Certain players were incensed that there were no PvE options available.

People will literally complain about everything. ZOS could literally give us all free stuff and people would complain. That has happened.

I will say though they have a point. Not that I'm complaining or disappointed, but it does seem odd that they didn't include any PvP Pursuits in this one. The last PvP-only one was totally understandable, but this one? Meh.

Then again, that first real Pursuit we had around the hoildays was a nice "do everything in the game" kind of thing, and it had something for everyone. I am a bit disappointed that we don't seem to get bonus rewards for specific tasks anymore, since that was featured there and when it was tested on PTS, but that did lead to a lot of complaints as well.

Why is it when someone complains about PvE not being in a Golden Pursuit, it's considered genuine, but when someone objects to there not being PvP in a Golden Pursuit, it's considered satire?

I am being genuine. All of these other tasks (like Dungeons, Trials, ToT, etc) have about 2 tasks each. Why don't we have literally anything exclusive to PvP? Our time is better spent in the overworld questing, killing world bosses, and waiting for dungeon queues to pop, because those can all be done simultaneously.

Saying that you can craft things and complete daily quests in PvP is intentionally avoiding the point. PvE gets tasks which can only be done in PvE, but PvP does not? Why do we have tasks for completing Dungeons and Trials but none for killing/damaging enemy players?

I don't think it's needed to have specifically pvp oriented tasks ( most of them are just menials anyway, and really shouldnt be counted as pve or anything, just as trivial things you can do whatever your favorite playstyle is; crafting things is menial and anecdotal without further specifications, completing incursions also is frankly - most of the 'pve' things are just plain trivials ), yet I wouldn't mind some pvp oriented tasks in addition of the others for a neutral golden pursuit like this one.

    Anyway, I don't think it's a huge problem.

I know what was meant and stand by post. Assuming nefarious intent makes zero sense because it is completely legitimate to want to PvP to finish a pursuit. And calling PvE players that choose to enter Cyrodiil for some rewards as "forced victims" is a bit much.

This. We just had two back to back PvP Pursuits. Now we have a PvE one. The anniversary event is still PvP friendly.

The rewards for this event are a unique statue and a unique costume.

The reward for the recent pvp one was AP, which most regular pvp-ers have more than enough of.

The difference in type of rewards is quite big.

It was a unique customized action for the MYM pursuit. And there was absolutely people upset about missing out on it because they hated PvP or who complained they were forced to PvP to get the unique item. Not that there being no unique rewards stopped the same complaints from happening with the second PvP pursuit.

Someone is always going to complain if the pursuits aren't able to be fully completed in the playstyle of their choice.

In defense of ZOS, the last golden event was ALL PVP. This might be some sort of balancing to answer to the qq's if a few players that complained about it.

Oh absolutely, people will complain regardless of what is offered, I agree with you. My point was that the most recent PvP related golden pursuit should not be used as a comparison because all it gave was AP and some gold. So with that said there have been multiple PvE pursuits and one PvP pursuit with a unique reward so I can understand the annoyance some players have that this one doesn’t really have any specific PvP options in addition to the PvE ones. It’s supposed to be an anniversary event that celebrates ESO as a whole, right? PvP is part of ESO whether people like it or not.

Yes, you can do these in Cyrodiil, though it would take a long time to do the dolmens there now since they have changed the way they spawn. I get the quests from doing the daily crafting writs on multiple characters, which are sort of necessary to get the mats and vouchers that I need for my activities.

It’s just I will have to do group dungeons, arena, trials and/or IA to finish out the 20 items and those are fairly time consuming so it cuts into actual PvP.

    Just my opinion.

I guess what I am suggesting is instead of having 20 activities to do and have however many total there were, like 23 or 24 PvE activities, they could have added 2-3 PvP activities for more choices and it would have had the same number of PvE activities to do. It wouldn’t hurt PvE players and would have added some PvP choices as well.

    Win/win.

I agree, as a primary PvPer having to do all this PvE nonsense is tiring.

FG1 takes 5 min solo. IA arc 1 takes 15 min. If you really want the rewards it’s not much effort.
