There needs to be something that stops progress if all group members are greater than a specific distance apart.

You can connect your PC's keyboard to your PS. That's what a lot of us do.

I think not being able to complete quests does not happen frequently enough to warrant such a change. The OP only mentioned it happening to them once.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I've run a lot of randoms in the last month and I was always able to complete the quest (though I forgot to hand it in once before I left the dungeon), and other people who were in my groups that were on the quest were also able to complete them with no issue.
Well, except for that one time we went to Liar of Marselook, the tank abandoned us as he zoned in and we got to the end with a group of 3 to find the last boss fight wouldn't start. We ended up getting one of my guildies to help, had to leave the dungeon, disband and reform the group and run the whole thing again, forsaking the random dungeon rewards. But that was not on any player, that was a game bug.
