We will now be voting for the WORST current set bonus for this pool of sets for our third week! We had exactly 10 submissions this week, which is the maximum amount of poll options these forums allow by default. You will not have to write in your vote this time.

Participation was low this week, but week 1 of the monster helm topic had many submissions so expect to see that soon after this is posted. The winner of this contest will still receive 250k!

Healthy discussion is encouraged- just remember to stay on topic. These contests heavily rely on community participation, so if you want to contribute your idea and case for why a set bonus is underpowered, feel free to do so below or in the following weeks if the set you want to discuss is not listed. Hanu's Compassion

Obviously I'm biased, but Light Speaker is not a bad set. Weapon and Spell Damage increases do benefit healing by increasing the heal amounts. Admittedly, being only for Restoration Staff abilities looks really narrow, but Illustrious Healing, Rapid Regeneration, and Combat Prayer are corner stones of Healing builds! I could see a legit build that backbars Light Speaker, perhaps with Grand Rejuvenation arena weapon too. +600 Weapon/Spell damage to healing abilities is no joke!

Hanu's Compassion on the other hand is simply terrible. It ONLY procs on resurrection and how often are you planning on doing that??? And for your 5 piece set you get... ~20 Ultimate over 15 seconds? That's not what someone who just revived needs and isn't close to making it worth it for the person resurrecting either since it doesn't stack. If you rez multiple people within 15 seconds there is no benefit since Major Heroism doesnt stack. Just a terrible set.

Anything with proc on resurrection is basically doomed to be a terrible set. Even if you tried to abuse the bonus with highly coordinated team deaths and timely resurrection by Reanimate to minimize DPS loss and maximize the buff condition to the team, the 30 Ultimate returned for this set would never justify a 5-piece bonus. On-resurrection sets could probably provide overpowered buffs without really impacting the end game since no competitive group wants players to die.

This is the reason light speaker is such a bad set. It's a truly terrible set because people mistakenly think it's good, when in reality it's a trap.

firstly there are so many good healing sets like sanctuary that a far stronger for healing with the same or less difficulty to acquire.
secondly, because it only buffs your resto skills all of your class heals are left out in the cold, so instead of a straight buff it's more like shifting your heals to a smaller set of skills.
thirdly if you back bar it the heal increase will only apply to the "sticky" or direct heals. the big heals like healing springs will only be affected while you're on the bar.

while it's true that hanu is a terrible set, it's also clear about it's purpose and in what situations it's good. light speaker is a tricksy set that is fooling people into using it while actually making their healers worse.

First, you can't say a set is bad because there are other strictly better alternative sets to run. You have to judge the set on its own and what it does.

Second, as I previously said, Combat Prayer, Illustrious Healing, and Regeneration are corner stones of every healing class. Even Templar, which arguably has the most class skills for healing, still always runs these 3 skills. Some builds even run the Resto Staff Ultimate `Life Giver`, which casts more Resto Staff abilities! Often, the most useful thing a Healer can do is pump Regeneration and spam Combat Prayer!
So, 3/5 front bar abilities get +600 Weapon/Spell Damage (which is really good). Your front bar Ultimate gets a HUGE buff. The other 2/5 front bar is most likely a strong debuff or group resistance or Energy Orb (which is more about resource sustain than actual healing).

No one is saying Light Speaker is a good, end game set. But if someone wanted to run it for normal dungeons, it would be decent as a beginner set. Not everyone follows online guides you know and not everyone is interested in just immediately jumping to Trials gear or meta sets. Light Speaker is ... fine.

Honestly, looking at a similar set, Vastarie's Tutelage, I don't think granting "100% cost reduction to non-Ultimate abilities for 10 seconds." after resurrection would be overpowered. Resource sustain or shields are the things most needed after resurrection. Major Heroism is not; even a flat "gain 30 Ultimate" would be MILES better than just granting Major Heroism for 15 seconds since it doesn't stack. If you are resurrecting multiple people quickly (within 15 seconds), Hanu's Compassion actually hurts itself!! Having looked at ALL sets, I am confident this is the worst 5 piece there is.

Sanctuary is a prime example of what you tried to say - it looks way better to the untrained eye, than it actually is. (I blame the bubbles.)
Sanctuary only affects players in a 10 meter radius. We're currently in the Undaunted event - go pug a dungeon and watch how often your DDs and tank are within 10 meters of you. Even worse in trials. The set sometimes works in groups who know what they're doing, esp. in content where you can just stack. It's terrible as an all-weather "more healz" set. (Not saying that Light Speaker is good.)

the bubbles have been removed and you can now see a light green circle around your character where the sanctuary effect is.
it's now a really solid set
