Can I do anything about a missed anniversary cake?

So I missed last year's anniversary event due to issues keeping me from playing and as a result, there's now a gap in the anniversary cakes I've obtained. Is there anything I can do to rectify this or am I now doomed to forever have that unobtained cake sitting in my list? 😔

Thankfully I'll be able to play this year's anniversary event, but having that one missing cake is going to be annoying.

Can ZOS throw me a bone on this one and push me the 2021 cake?

I don't think there is anyway to acquire the cake as a collectible, among the others in the tools category.

However you can purchase previous cakes as furniture. :)

But it seems (for some reason) that we can't purchase the first cakes as furniture from the years 2016-2018. But we can get the cakes from the more recent anniversaries 2019-2021.

You can only purchase the furnishings for years from which you have the collectible. I can purchase 2018 because I have that one collected, but I can't purchase 2017 because I don't have that one. Friends of mine do have the 2017 furnishings, however.

It's disappointing tbh. That's the only cake collectible I don't have now. I don't much care about it furnishing-wise, but it being greyed out in the collectibles menu forever is annoying. Like, we can obtain previous Jester collectibles, so I see no reason why they wouldn't allow us to somehow obtain any cakes we've missed, not just as furniture but properly obtain it.

If it is from the in-game vendor I am pretty sure you need to have acquired the cake from the year for it to be available.

combination of the 12 ticket cap, too high of ticket cost of items makes it really hard to get too much from the event vendor

i dont see why event vendor stuff cant be bought for gold, its not like you can access event vendor outside of the event anyway, and all of the stuff in it is bound

It's most certainly a cash grab, whether you buy the event tickets with crowns, or you buy crowns from another player with gold. I would have all cakes in my house if they didnt cost tickets, but I generally push back when they try to hide the cost of things. Cash>Crowns>Tickets. They do it so you dont think about the actual cost.

oh im fully aware of that lol, doesnt mean i cant complain about it lol

i would most certainly buy the cake furnishings for my house if it didnt cost me 10-15 event tickets to do so, and with the gain rates that is half of an event worth of tickets and the fact we can only carry over 12 doesnt help much either

basically things are starting to get out of control with how many tickets we really need per event to get everything, i know i gave up on many of the indirik non combat pets because there just wasnt enough tickets to get everything

anything that costs 2-3 tickets is already effectively 1 full days worth of tickets earned, 5 tickets is 2 event days, 10 tickets is 4 event days

if an event is only giving a maximum amount of like 24 tickets and had to make the soulfire dragon illusion pet due to just starting, that is 15 of those 24 tickets, leaving only 9 tickets to get anything else you might want but there is usually 40 tickets worth of things at the event vendor (yeah some of those you can get from grinding the event itself, such as the second seed outfit pages for jester, but stuff like the anniversary cakes you cannot)

idk. I look at it as a choice since not everyone wants the various things specific to this year's reward progressions. That and the cakes are available every year. So there is no need for anyone to buy tickets.

Oh, and it is also choice to participate in the events or not. Nothing related to the events is important. It is just fluff for those who want it.

Yep. Only thing I had to buy was the spider part & the cake, because I entered this event with 12 tickets and there's nothing I need to get (I've got a pet, parts for a second pet, and don't want the mount). So I'll either be letting the tickets go, or buying grabbags for any styles I never bothered collecting (because I thought they were ugly).

The never-ending conflict between "please add more, there's nothing to buy" players and "omg, don't add more, it's a cash-grab!" 100% collectors. /shrug

i dont mind "exclusive" stuff for events like the fragments system with the skin and pet and such

but when literally everything on the event vendor (including the special furnishings) are only available with tickets (furnishings are something you usually buy multiples of anyway further straining tickets)

the cake furnishings should just be added to the event housing furnisher in which you CAN buy all that stuff with gold so long as you have associated achievements (instead of an achievement it just checks if you had the memento version)

i think more fall into the "dont add more, its a cash grab" because you can A) buy tickets with crowns (not gold, not anything else), and B ) new players at this point would be forced to buy tickets to get everything they wanted that is available during the event

Yeah I'm surprised that we don't automatically get the cakes as furnishings if we already have them in our tools menu from past events. That would have rewarded long time players for participating in the event rather than costing us event tickets.

I strongly disagree. It's to commemorate you playing that year. However, rather than requiring you to get the collectible during the anni event from the cake guy, they should instead give it automatically to anyone with more than like say 5 hours of playtime that year.

    EDIT:

Meaning they should mail you a non-expiring mail with your voucher if you played enough time that year, a really low threshold of time but maybe a bit more than booted it up and immediately uninstalled. And have cake man open a shop you can visit him year round. Send the mails out during the anniversay, keep the exp buff. You can collect your cake anytime you want though, it just won't have the exp buff if it's after the anniversary event. Give him a line about freshness or whatever. That way the cake properly celebrates playing that year, and not just logging on during the anniversary event.

I myself am missing one cake and it makes me sad. I have no idea why I missed it but I'm guessing I was traveling.

With account wide ... pretty much everything ... and the fact that pretty much all Crown Store items rotate through yearly, I think being this "hard core" about the cakes is an odd choice.

This is a fantastic idea. It is so odd to me that you could be a dedicated player all year, but for whatever reason you miss the event and as a result you miss out on the year's cake forever, for all time.

Heads up, even the 2016 cake is available as a furnishing - if you participated in that year's event. I personally have 2016, and 2019-present, but I missed (read: skipped) the 2017 and 2018 anniversary events, so I do not have those available for purchase.

What's most annoying to me, if anything, is that I don't have a 2015 cake. I mean, there wasn't a 2015 anniversary event, but still.

Tangential to that (hopefully without getting too far off-topic), it would also be nice to be able to select and hide things of your choice from collections. I have... far too many pets, mounts, costumes, and so on and it is painful to scroll through them. Especially when half of them are weird bugs or daedric things that were automatically added through crown crate RNG or community event or whatever that I never wanted in the first place.
