39k is a lot? That has got to be after taxes and expenses right?

39k/yr is actually not bad for a 23 year old. You will be met with idiots who claim they were making 6 digits+ at that age, which is almost certainly a lie.

For a 23 year old, that's a good amount. Yes. Please, go on to tell us about how you were making 100k/yr at 23 years of age.

As previously stated, I work in software development, and was lucky and only got the job due to it being a family run business which happens to be very successful.

I'm not gonna be a ***. Instead, Ill just say I got over the expected starter salary for someone with my major.(chemical Engineering) Heres a list so you could get an idea. http://www.forbes.com/sites/susanadams/2013/01/24/college-degrees-with-the-highest-starting-salaries-2/
But yeah.....never heard someone brag about 39k.

Was he bragging? 39k is a comfortable income for a 23 year old. I was making 35k/yr at that age as a software developer. I'm making ~90k/yr now 10 years into the industry, but I also started before getting my degree.
And good for you if you are truly a chemical engineer and making good money. That's a solid profession, but don't diss others who aren't making the same amount of money. Software development pay grade has dropped dramatically in the last few decades. The same thing could happen to your career.

Having worked in technical CS, I can say that I love this kind of customers. They think omg stuff doesnt work, RAGEEEEE....when in effect their to dumb to actually and properly do the installation.
No one said you need to be a computer genius, but if you have problems, open a ticket or ask a friend that's better than you at this.
...but NAH, go ahead and rage, spew bullshizzle and cry us a river, instead of actually trying to get your stuff solved.
Good thing telling us your hard working to earn your money, cause DAMN you give up quick when faced with any small obstacle.

Some free advice if you haven't gone to college. Go to a good school which means try harder in high school or go to a Jr. College. Get a real degree that actually has jobs in that field. Get Interships, boom you're making easily 60+k a year fresh out of college.
I honestly don't feel bad for college graduates working at McDonalds regardless of the economy. Don't go to college if you're in the process of "finding yourself" because you'll most likely rack up debt and still not have a well paying job.
But if you're happy with 39k a year then by golly you should be since you can always find a college educated person working at the grocery store. I've seen it.

Son, 39k in british pounds is 75k roughly. 75k at 23 to you.

Are you ***? Are you seriously, genuinely, medically ***?
Do I bother responding to your thick headed feeble attempt at a response?
I inserted the discs, clicked installed, downloaded the patches.
The game should work, end of story. It doesn't.
I tried the work arounds, followed the steps given by customer support, who were useless.
Now, aside from the many game breaking bugs, the technical side of things, optimisation, launcher, patches, etc, are also very broken.
Go dunk your head in a toilet you thick ***

It's actually 65k. And again, what's a good salary is relative to your locale.

It's true. I was making bank when I lived in the midwest. Moved out to the west coast, with a pay hike and I was bleeding from the ears just to make ends meet.
Also, how is this thread still open?

From that viewpoint it makes sense, however; that assumes the feedback given is constructive. The vast majority of the Original Post is not constructive nor even feedback. Its venting. I can understand how he got to that point, I would be frustrated to. But venting is not helpful (and personally not my style).
That aside, it is clear what happens when a post based on pathos gets attention. (we are now 4 pages deep)
