Doing 'maintenance' during EU day time will not make customers happy anyway. Its not bad to make customers pay for your service but then at least try to take them serious.

Should have been done around 1am not 5. That way it does not have as much impact on the wide eu time zone. Especially as it is a holiday. Either way staff are working out of normal hours. Late evening instead of early morning but besides this has nothing to do with staffing convenience and everything to do with customer service.

Again, a public holiday for 99% of the population of the EU, plus most of the rest of the 'Western World' and the server is down. This may be necessary, but it is very sad, and very very bad publicity indeed. As an example, I am 'testing' this game for a few Guilds on another MMO, and they are waiting to see what I think before deciding whether or not to abandon the game that they have put years into, and try ESO.

At present I can only say - "remember when XX started, 7 years ago, and all the bugs? Well, it's worse, and what's more they take the only EU server down on public holidays - Friday, Sat and Monday."

It seems to be fixing problems that people are complaining about. The fact that they are doing this when they are says that the devs have been working all weekend to address these issues. Show a little appreciation for that. You may have one day of your holiday messed up- they had the whole weekend messed up.

Yes we should all bow down in appreciation for those amazing devs.
They are actually working for their paying subscribers ?, this must be a new level of industry standard never seen before...

Oh, and an update of when the Server will be up again would be nice pls....

another classic decison form Zen, lets take the server down over the easter holidays. Well done guys, yes i know there are issues that need fixing but i'm sure we'd all prefer you to do them while we are at work tomorrow and not while we are all off today.

anyway, i'm getting used to seeing the sever down notice and to be honest i'm not surprised anymore by it. Looks like i'll have to talk tot he wife or do some form of exercise this morning then...thanks!!!

Everyone cries and moans like *** about bugs... they take the servers down at a reasonable time to fix them, not "prime time" like I keep seeing people say (Since when has 5AM monday morning been a prime time?) and people still moan and cry like ***, those moaning need to get a grip its a game not a way of life...

Because there's only one timezone in the world...

Wonder how many people complaining about "down time," have also complained about bugs in game?

Yes its inconvenient to most, but consider this "at least they are trying to fix these bugs for you."

Then they can fix them during the euro night not during the holiday day. It is not even approaching rocket surgery.

We are all paying for a BETA, this game is wonderful, but has way to many issues and bugs that should have been resolved. I hope they don't have these types of issues on the consoles, because players there won't be forgiving.

Well, the upcoming next test will be, 29/30 may and 8/9 june.
Or am I thinking way ahead now.

This game is pissing me off . Like it , want to play it . But this is ridiculous 4 downt times in 1 week en now the new week we start with down time . They schould give us or missing days back . And the ingame support is almost a laugh they only send the same standard letter we now of the problem looking in to it .

Well, this particular Monday is a public holiday practically in every European country.

Not to comment on the subject of down time itself, just to correct the assumption that this is just another Monday morning.

At this time, we are doing the scheduled maintenance one day early, and tomorrow's maintenance is taking the place of the regular maintenance on Tuesday.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno‌

I appreciate that you might well of been working long hours, but you really should be aware that for a large part of the world, given the time of your post, your reference to tomorrow means Tuesday. I would hope as a forum mod, you would realise this and how terms like tomorrow and yesterday are going to vary internationally.

    @‌Guizan

Very insightful map, hope the ZO pays attention.

If you wanted to get less people complaining about the very frequent maintainance , you really need to start posting estimated times for the server to be back up and running or at least a minimum time it might be down for. That way a large portion of people will go and find sometime else to do rather than looking through the forums trying to work out how long they have to wait for the game.

The fact that they are patching and doing maintenance today, probably means that the tech staff over at Zenimax has worked rather long hours, all through easter to fix things)
Most of America doesn't 'do' Easter, in most parts AIUI Friday and today are nothing special work-wise, certainly my friends in the US worked normally both days.

Actually, no, the loading screen bug is NOT in the patch notes!

I agree it's annoying but playing late yesterday was painful so as long as they DO fix it then it's okay I guess.

I also feel like we are paying for a beta game... I like the game tho, but 3-4 down times a week is a bit much. A shame they went live to early.

5am becomes 6, 7 8, 9 and 10 am. And that's just in the UK. For eastern europe 5am is 8am so it is losing a holiday morning play time or longer. Not acceptable and commercially stupid to boot when people are in their 30 days play time.

Honestly - sometimes I wonder who is making these calls. Blizzard seems the most likely explanation.

It's been down 3 time in the last 4 days, really not good.

This game really does feel like a pay to play beta.

This is why I picked to work this bank holiday (today) because I knew Zenimax would do this.

As in one of my threads where I states that people have lost out on alot of gametime due to the large amount of maintenance that have been performed since the launch, I hope that they will be smart enough to issue a few extra days of gametime to everyone due to their mistakes.

For people like myself I only need to have the servers working in the evening when I get home and on the weekends, but for those who are unemployed/part-time/evening shift or still in school/college/university, they do miss out more than others.

Actually it is in the patch notes.

Correction du problème des écrans de chargements figés lors du changement de zone ou de région.

This is from the 1.05 French notes, which I read first as it was posted first.
Google translate it if you like.
It just wasn't copied over into the English patch notes.

Yes its inconvenient to most, but consider this "at least they are trying to fix these bugs for you."

I think, that are two different things. If the thing (the whole production and programming) works perfect, then we should have no bugs like these we have (dupes and these things). But where humans work, errors occur. That´s the way of life.

    But one important thing:
In Consequence, they don´t try to fix it for us, at least they fix it for themselfes. Because Zenimax want to earn money with the things they do, nothing else. It is a company and for having a good result in money, they need happy customers. And it´s their job, to find out, how they can make the customers happy in the best way. In this case our job is just to be a customer.

    just my 2 cents

Since the schedule maintenance was tomorrow and reading the patch notes, it feels this could have waited til tomorrow since it is Easter weekend here in Europe, so most players are free to play the game. Had it been a fix to counter the bots/exploits, I would have galdly waited but this is poor planning from their side.

yeah lots of quests are bugged so can't complete them which inder game play but it could have waited a day for this update.
Also give players a more head up and easier way to see when planned or unplanned downtime will be.

Whilst customer support clearly do not understand the difference between scheduled and emergency maintenance (perhaps they should be sent on ITIL courses) I can't fault them for pushing out the patch fixing the infinite loading screens ASAP.

This was a major PITA for a lot of people for the last few days.

I personally am happy they are pressing on with fixes because for a while, they appeared to be living in denial.

ZOS will view it like this: If they don't appear to be aggressively fixing things, then people shall not renew once the free period is over. If people leave because ZOS are fixing things, well those people would have left anyway.
