Join the stamina meta with hvy armor if needed.

I was about to agree with this; and it may be accurate. The meta is the meta. But I went and built my magplar to have similar numbers to my stam running the fury, NMA, BS stuff. Have to give it a try but the fall of magicka mostly is executes suck or cannot weave as follow up as fast as the stam counter parts outside of sorc preset , medium/heavy attacks are to slow on staffs, and you are at an effective weapon damage disadvantage for barring it in melee, and root/snare immunity is 2 seconds tops. Then they've nerfed all classes so much that outside if jabs/sweeps, it's almost always better to run dizzy

Advantages of magicka are you have a lot more access to class staples. You get in a fight with thogards DK build there and watch the DOTS tick as an example; ER cost on a stamplar will only work so long. You also can use that more readily for groups, and you have group heal. Most of the best group support and defenses outside of blocking and dodge roll is magicka. If you talk templars, it's a lot easier as magicka as your HOT comes from being aggressive if not as potent as keeping vigor up. Cries will eventually nerf that class though.

I could drone on all day but I guess I agree when discussing the context of independent builds, but disagree that theres not a place where magicka shines. Theres always going to be a best, so might as well follow whatever that is for what you want to do.

I mostly do BGs and that’s how most classes play out, the only place where I’d point it doesn’t fit is magblade has an execute and magwarden doesn’t.

So far playing it feels like this patch magplar is already behind. The only competitive mag specs are MagWarden and Magsorc.

I'm not sure how to take battlegrounds at the moment with reset MMRs and solo only.

I’ve always solo queued so for me I’m in a decent position to judge. Main difference I’m seeing is there are stamblades who do well and a lot more variety. High burst medium builds have popped up and are doing well on stamblades and stamsorcs. I’m even seeing some DW builds.

Mag have almost evaporated except for magsorcs. Magtemplars don’t look like they’re doing well. In most of my BGs I’m the only mag excluding magsorcs.

Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Meta builds is currently a vague statment. I think lots of people play same classes with different style, what works for you might not work for others and vice versa. I used to pick meta builds for my pvp set ups but I either never liked the playstyle or I just couldn't do what others did like maintiang permablocks, keep up heals, buffs, and debuffs. It is why I started to create my own builds for my play style, and I think you should do the same. It will be hard at the begining but once you know what like play like browler, ranger, sneak, ganks etc... you will have a better idea on how to create a build that support your playstyle.

this right here is the problem with PvP, ppl going online for a build it not working so assume either other player is OP and needs nerfing or their sets/skills need a buff, not saying you do or would just in general.

these videos on builds are ruining the game.
what works for 1 player does not mean it will fit your play style or that you can use and the rotations they use. the players melting you defo are not running a meta build but something they spent time and effort working on and perfecting.

This. I play magicka nightblade, considered as one of the weakest/most demanding specs in game in terms of PvP and I can stand probably against anybody, as for now since few months I've lost less than 5 1v1s in Cyrodiil and IC and each of those fights could end this or the other way after minutes of fighting, loses the one who make some mistakes, it doesn't matter will this be ganker using Caluurion and Zaan, sorc trying to burst me with overload, frags curse and fury combo, stamden, stamcro or stamplar.

I've spent weeks of tests, tweaking and again testing, millions of gold to upgrade gear, dozens of hours of theorycrafting to find balance between defences, attack and sustain. Each skill, buff and set have it's place for a reason e.g. changing my backbar weapon to BRP resto staff would force me to use Healing Ward, which would force me to use cloak and healing reactively not proactively, this would also force me to build more sustain because of costs of healing ward and increased usage of cloak.

As you can see from above example, you need to know WHY you use certain skills and sets, because you need to know HOW to utilize them. Copy/pasting build is like buying top level compound bow. It's deadly tool but only in right arms, rookie most likely will just hurt him self.

I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge
