What class did you fall in love with after playing?

    I have 3 different one's honestly.

My 1st favorite was my pet spec. I've always been attracted to pet class's. (Warlock's and Hunters in WoW and Masterminds in City of Villains.) I prefer to solo most content and Sorcs allowed me to do it with ease. I played my spec for the first 2 years before trying any other class.

2nd favorite is the Necromancer. I originally came to this game looking for this class specifically and was disappointed when it wasn't in the base game. I've always loved the Necromancer play style. I've played one in every Elder Scrolls game from Morrowind to Skyrim. I have some gripes about the class pet and lack of a melee pet but I still love the class.

3rd is Nightblade. It's something about ambushing enemies from the shadows then melting back into the night unseen. This class got me into PvP more specifically ganking..lol. It's so thrilling attacking another person and taking him out before he has a chance to react or retreating into the shadows if his too ruff to take out.

Templar is the class that I have always best vibed with. It just kinda clicked after playing it the first time even though it's not the "aesthetic" I usually go for. It feels very sturdy to play, almost defensively so but still packs a punch. Even with the changes to help Templar mobility, it still feels like a stand your ground class. I enjoy it that. It's the only class I've mained since I picked up the game years ago, and I'll keep maining it no matter what future nerfs or buffs happen just like before.

Great to see such a relatively balanced spread. It’s almost as if every class had something to offer lol

I really like playing my Templars now (both mag and stam). They were super fun to level and work really well in endgame content. I love the way they seem really fluid and Power of the Light and Repentance are great to play. Right now they’re both in a really good place.

My Warden tank on the other hand is a whole world of pain....

I have been playing nb since console release I have always enjoyed stealthy gameplay. I am a Breton stamblade dark brotherhood assassin. For pvp i use duel wield and 2 h or 2 h and bow when I’m just doing quests role play etc I use duel wield and bow. I actually have 4 nb and played both magblade and stamblade and enjoy them both very much 🙂

As mentioned by others, it seems the spread of favorite classes has been fairly even. However, Necromancer falls behind by a pretty decent percentage.

To everyone commenting, what would make you enjoy this class more? What are your dislikes of the class? What would you like to see changed? Or do you just not like playing a “bad” character since necromancy is illegal?

Let’s offer some discussion and feedback on Necromancer so ZOS has some player insight on the class and what we think some improvements could be to bring them up to the favoritism of the other five classes!

    Too many one dimensional abilities.

By that I mean a lot of their cc only does cc with no damage, a lot of their damage has no cc. Even streak the most overloaded ability in the game does damage. I liked the immobilization poop puddles you can put down but found them underwhelming in practice.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

I like necro but I don’t understand what Zos wants is to do with it. I can’t get the “strategic” corpse gameplay to make any sense.

My mag necro healer is basically just my Templar healer in purple without shards.

My stam necro is just basically my stam Sorc without sustain.

    I honestly don’t “get” it.

That’s why I fell in love with warden as advertised, I love hunter/beast master classes and I try to do that in every game or mod the game so I can do it like I did with Skyrim.

As someone who doesn't min/max with internet-posted builds, but instead plays around with personal unique builds including hybrids, I feel like Sorc is by the far the most flexible class, with so many different playstyles available for both magicka and stamina builds, pets or no pets, light attack builds or skill spammers, dps or tank or healer, werewolf or vampire, there's nothing it doesn't do.

I feel like all the other classes are still a lot of fun but have greater restrictions than sorcs with how they can be built. Some more than others. Necros seem to be the most restrictive to me so far, but is also the newest class so I'm sure things will open up down the line. Especially if Skyrim adds a new weapon skill line to improve build flexibility for all classes. Please ZOS!

I fall in love 1st with Templar.
All these flashy holy skill, always loved this as healer ^^

Then I was very happy to play the warden and it become my other favorite.
It was a blast to play it in vTrial. But I can't get it in any serious 4 man content, his play-style for this content don't fit mine.
All his healing skill are bad when it come to DG, no because of heal power, but because of how they work.
I've try a lot, but each time I end-up to go back on my Templar.

I've test many all other class as healer and had lot of fun with, but Templar is where I'm the best imho, the play-style fit me really well and I find Templar skill very well designed for healing/support purpose.

Templar was the first class I tried, so that may be part of it, it just FEELS right and I feel more skilled on my templar than any other class. I love being able to incorporate jabs in when it suits my mood. Also I have enjoyed healing as my favorite role since Aion and Templar has so many strengths there.

    My order:
    Templar
    Warden
    Necro
    Sorcerer
    Dragonknight
    Nightblade

Although depending on the day my pet sorc jumps a slot or two. It has been a tougher relationship since the nerfs, I loved it because I like having pets and having a HA DPS.

NB has never seemed to jive with my playstyle.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

A stamina dragon knight, back when the theme was fire not poison, it was so gorgeous to send npc’s flying with a huge burning blade or have them just go whump and turn into ashes 🔥 It was so much fun to be this monstrous, slow moving blunt instrument, like a mobile blast furnace with an attitude problem

The whole class was iron, fire and thunder... now it’s just some half baked poison dribbling night blade knock off

Gave up being a dps because they sucked all the fun out of it even if it still hits hard... ish...

Turned her into a hybrid solo build instead

Played a templar from day one. Couldn’t really tell you why I picked the class but always stuck with it and really enjoyed its overall play. Had a great toolkit for solo play, passive healing whilst doing damage and quite tanky for melee build too.

I’ve played every class in almost every role and none have the same feel as magicka templar for me.

My first love, my toon that I leveled from 1 in the wailing prisons up to cp810+ was a Magplar healer, and the class remains a big favorite of mine. Yet, after it all I must admit that Stamden and Magden are my favorite classes in the game.

Admittedly I am mainly a PvP player, but even my PvE healer main is now Magden. In PvP both Stam and Mag wardens are just incredibly fun and diverse to play, with healing, tanking and damage options. Overall, I tell any new player to the game, or anyone looking for something new to try Warden, they're the best.

Can't pick between my Templar or Pet Sorc, but ultimately chose Templar since it seems to fit my playstyle more! I always churn out higher DPS on my Templar (while still healing the group!) compared to my Pet Sorc.

The character I have been using for years now is my Khajiit Nightblade using dual-wield and bow. First time I played as a Khajiit and I leaned into it because their passives lend so nicely towards thieves and assassins - both story lines and classes I enjoy a great deal.

That said, the Necromancer is the first mage-like character I find myself interested in playing. Mage's have never been a role I have been interested in when it comes to RPG's. For a character class that is seemingly built around intellect, they often barge into battle with their staves and set the world on fire as a general rule. lol At least as a rogue-like class, I am more inclined to think my way through the battle before it even begins because - well - I'm squishy and one wrong move can end everything.
Necromancy, not only for the darker edge it has but also because the skill itself is illegal and everyone in the world is going to hate you for it - including those whom you are saving at the time - looks like it might actually be a fun class to flesh out and embrace.

I'm going to have to say my stamsorc. I had taken a LOOOOONG break from online games after over 10 years in EQ(launch) and I wanted to solo. At the time my friends and even many forums said stamina(what I wanted to play) wasn't that good for it. After a few false starts and some classes that didn't "feel" right I made a stamina sorcerer and loved it. Props to my argonian nightblade(but that's because he reminds me of my iksaar monk main from EQ) and my two dragonkights. Would LOVE the necromancer but not digging the whole illegal spells deal while duels, vamps, and werewolves hang out at town wayshrines no problem.

Out of all my characters my first two (Magsorc and Stamblade) are the ones I love the most. But out of those two, I think I had the most fun with Stamblade PvP about a year ago. I played as a sneaky archer stamblade and I remember getting very cheap 1 or 2 shot kills on squishy players in battlegrounds and Cyrodiil. Tougher opponents needed a few more shots but I was at a distance and had cloak if they ran towards me. It was fun even though I would be dead if the fight got close ranged, but that’s part of the fun in that playstyle. I dominated in battleground leaderboards, especially in that relic gamemode since I can sneak to grab the relic and run real fast back to base. A fun memory I had was in non-CP Cyrodiil where I defended Winter’s Peak outpost against 3 players for nearly an hour, finding new ways to ambush them and pick them off one by one until they gave up and joined a small zerg at Dragonclaw.

But if I remember correctly some nerfs/changes happened and that playstyle wasn’t viable anymore, so I went back to my Magsorc to do all content. I wish I could be happier about my Magsorc though, especially with how boring the rotation is now. When I first picked the class I guess I expected something cooler for daedric summoning. Dark magic is kind of boring too. Storm calling is cool, though (I really like bolt escape, lightning form, and overload). Even so, I am the most comfortable with my magsorc and I am way too invested in this character (achievements like flawless conqueror, all the quests, crafting), and I enjoy PvP with her so she’s my main.
