Maintenance Days...Friday is not a good day.. Maint changed to Thursday starting next week!!!!!

Yep its one of those threads..
For Australians that puts the maintenance 10pm Friday night.. right in the middle of our prime time..
please change the day.. Thursday is much better ..
surely Thursday maintenance day is better for everyone.. generally people work during the weekdays and have weekends off.. whacking maintenance right in weekend is terrible ..
even for the US Friday morning cant be that great.. not sure about your public holidays and such but here in Australia Public holidays are generally either Friday or Monday so we get a nice long weekend
now i know someone is going to post.. why not play on the EU server.. sure right NOW it is in the US.. but they have mentioned it will be moved to the EU at some point.. Latency from Au -> EU is terrible generally twice as bad as Au -> NA and that is because we do not have any good under sea cables going that way while we have some good direct cables to the west coast

as you can see Australia basically has no direct connections to the EU and our latency suffers really really badly. so choosing the EU server is NOT a valid choice for us.
as for times.. look personally im not that worried about it... just being a Friday is the MAJOR problem. If the maintenance was 10:00am EDT (which is 1pm East cost ??) that would be sweet and generally shouldnt *** off the workers/school kids in the US either..
Hell pay your server admins to get up 5 hours earlier at 3am EDT and it would be even better.. 5pm Aus - we are thinking about making dinner or whatever with a 2 hour maint window being playable at 7pm would be perfect... infact it probably is the ideal time for just about everyone that would be playing on the NA server. following the cable map those times would suit people that played on the NA server while everyone else would play on the EU server.
but again the main purpose of this post is to change the DAY.. Friday is just a terrible idea. Thursday is generally alot better for everyone.

ferzalrwb17_ESO✭✭✭✭✭Friday through Monday = dumb. Time isn't the concern necessarily. The US is the last gaming place to hit morning in the world (really) so putting it on a Friday morning isn't that bright. Even a Monday morning would be smarter.8

Why not Tuesdays? Sharing the same day as other game is probably a good thing. Many of my friends have Tuesday off, lets me catch up with them, or do what I do now without impact.

The difference between the first and last timezone is a day, so yes, there are days better days for maintenance. The point the OP was making is that if you keep it away from Fri through Sun, everyone in the world can play on the weekend.

there's actually a 3-hour dif between east and west, so 10 EST would be 7 over here. I don't like that idea for myself or others who work the typical 9-5, M-F, as evenings (and weekends) are the only playtime. I'm for middle-of-the-night, weekday, maintenance, personally.

Ozziefly✭I 100% agree with this post. Im happy to say in my first week ive put in on avg... 80 hours while working a job. And friday night is one of my nights off... would really feel like the $145 i spent to play that game would be to feel as if our opinion didnt matter0
