Tel Var Stones are ridiculous

Losing Tel Var Stones is a joke. PVP is bad enough and then you add losing something when a player kills you. *** this ***!

This event or Part of ESO would be so much better if you didn't lose your hard earned items that your trying to save up. Not to mention they still have not added a PVE only Cyrodiil or Imperial Sewers for those of us that just want to participate in the story and NOT the PVP.

I actually like the risk. It adds to to fun.

    However:

The percentage lost should decrease as the number of players attacking you increases.

(Wouldn't mind higher incremental increases in loss percentage the more members in your group)

    My 2 cents.

As I've said in the past - that entire zone is basically designed to troll you while fulfilling the sadistic desires of players who enjoy causing frustration to others. Just avoid it and spare yourself. Because all you're accomplishing by going into that hell hole (especially if you are alone) is entertaining some ___ ____ at your own expense. And I don't know about you - but I have better things to do with my time than that.

Good stay out, buy your Hakejio from ppl willing to go down there.

Why does every zone have to for everybody?

You paid for the game. That entitles you to play the game. Now the game has set the rules for different areas.

You don't like the rule set for an area, don't go there. Simple. You need something from there deal with the rules.
Any of the stuff available from there can be obtained via other players afaik.

If ppl wanna fight each other there, just let em... you and your pixels can be safe in pve zones...

Then lock all PVP players out of PVE zones because not everything should be accessible to everybody, as you say.

Everone can easily play PVE zones and get all the rewards.
Only people that actually like PVP get the really good rewards from the PVP zones. So screw the rest of the players.

If there is a PVP system in an MMO then there should be a way for all players PVP and PVE to play the way they want to and still be able to get the same rewards in some way or another.

As others have said Tel Var is unique to the game and the risk of loss is what makes it fun. It is the only part of the game where there is a penalty for dying. Personally I think it is fun. I'm average at best with PvP but still manage to come out with a lot of Tel Var. I like taking 10,000 out of the bank and then drop down into the sewers as far from home as I can and try to make it back home.
If you don't enjoy the hunt you can do as others have also suggested. Take advantage of the guild traders and use your gold to get what others get with Tel Var. Win/win they get the fun of hunting for Tel Var and you get access to the goods.

    ROFLMAO

The risk is what make it NOT fun! Fun is not losing hard earned items.

The Tel Var mechanic is probably meant to increase the "excitement" of "tension".

What it does in reality is make people avoid the Imperial City DLC zones and just use their usual workarounds for what they want from the Tel Var store.
100,000 Tel Var for a housing storage box? In the time it takes to earn that, you'd probably gotten ALL the storage boxes from vouchers already. It's even faster now with the blue jewelry writs they introduced.

Sidenote: You can easily farm large amounts of Tel Var by sticking to the rooms close to your sewer HQ, farm chests and mobs and the 2 closest bosses - just gotta watch for the big guys - but you can easily leg it back to your HQ if you aggro them as you're close.

But yeah farming up top is a nightmare, good fun though :)

Not when 10-15 idiots from another faction camp there.

Gee, what a fun event, for them, not me....

I skipped a lot of the thread because I am sure we had this exact same conversation last time an event in Imperial City happened. Gotta toss out my opinion though.

I like the way Telvar works now. Much more forgiving that when first introduced. Also the only thing in the game that you get penalized for dying. Adds some excitement to gathering stones. Unique to the game and should stay in the game. I'm not going to do it during the event but I like to grab 10,000 stones and hop down in the sewers as far away from home base as I can. Then I see if I can make it back home. Always fun.

It is good that there is at least one place in the game where dying has consequences.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

IC has a lot of fun things that has made it a weekly guild event. It has a unique risk level to it, which is increased by going to the center to farm and topside. You can also get lots of useful items for crafting, plus gear, and three polymorphs and a pet and a skin. If that risk wasn't there it simply wouldn't be fun. :)

That risk you like so much. You can have it.
That risk is NOT fun in any way.
There should be another FUN way to obtain these items that so far are only available with PVP currency.

Some guy killed me. I had 8 TV. I reckon he got 4.

It's not revenge, exactly, but I was ok with it.

I started with 0, put 4 in the bank, so I only need 4996 more to get a hakeijo.

I would love to see how you guys handle a full or even partial loot PvP MMO. Most of the zones with the best rewards are open PvP, where anybody can attack you, and they take your loot when they kill you. In full loot PvP, they also take any items you've got equipped.

Maybe try to avoid the groups, then? There's 6 districts, and an entire sewer system for you to explore. If you're wanting to try out some PvP but don't want to get zerged down, try the other districts. If you're wanting to just farm mobs in peace, go down into the sewers and stick near your faction's base, depositing your Tel Var every 1k or so in case you get killed by another player.

Tel Vars are literally the only awesome reward from PvP and they should stay like that, PvE have all the rest. TBH in this game PvP rewards are still very poor when compared to other MMOs so don't whine.

    In general:
Sets avaible at vendors in towns should be much more useful in PvP.
Also we should be able to buy sacks with dung (not trials) gear for APs (DLC sacks should be unlocked only for those who own the DLC or ESO+).

Just because you don't PvP it doesn't mean you are a PvEr.

    About Tel Vars.

Yep. As I said above, I'd love to see how these guys handle full or even partial loot PvP MMO's, where your rewards are the items your victim had on them at the time. Imagine being out in some random zone just questing or farming materials, and some random dude comes and attacks you, kills you, and you lose all your items, maybe even the gear you were wearing.
