Pets Blocking Progress

Why must I take the loss of max magicka (Nercopotence gear perk) in town?

I have yet to hear someone crying about "irresponsible pet owners" focus on the easy solution - get pets to act better in the game. Make them stay out of the way on purpose. Add a repulsive field to NPCs and turnin stations.

My pet gets in my own way many times, but unsommoning it has costs and is far from easy. (I am on the PS4.)

They could fix things, but instead many demand players do without part of what makes the game fun for them (running with a pet).

And that loss of magic hurt you how at a crafting table

ontext is necessary to figure out how often the problem occurs.

Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Once in a blue moon?

I want this pets blocking progress issue fixed.

I get pets blocking me all the time. Just not at crafting stations and writ drop off locations. The last time I recall this happening was months ago, and it was my own pet.

This is why I am not interested in ZOS just fixing crafting stations. I want them to fix pets blocking and getting in the way everywhere. My feeling is that there is a common solution to all of this that will address the whole problem.

    Just stop already, @Nordic__Knights.

You're asking Pet Sorcs to remember to unsummon at every specific location that you deem inappropriate (including crafting tables).

Instead of trying to micromanage another player, try moving two steps another way to access the crafting table you need.

Remember that there are quests in town that Pet Sorcs are trying to complete ... a blanket ban on combat pets in town won't work.

In my personal experience I haven't ever been bothered by pets and (I'm sorry, just being honest) I actually kinda like them. I would vote against any automatic policing/un-summoning/disappearing of pets for sorcs or wardens as I feel they are part of the character's identity and should be allowed to exist wherever. I am slightly past neutral into the "live and let live" category with this one. I think it's unreasonable to expect pet classes to unsummon pets in group areas, although I do think it could be considered rude if people go AFK in a crowded area if they are truly blocking anything.

I find forced dismounting, often in what seems to me to be arbitrary areas, to be way more irritating, and I wish they would get rid of that. I also find the personal bankers and merchants way more irritating because they are interactable and I will accidentally click on them when they are in my way. Finally, certain random plants that are ill placed (see: Sunspire) I also find to be way more annoying and in my way than anyone's pets.

All that being said, if something was done about the pets I wouldn't get worked up enough about it protest on the forums or anything like that. It's not game breaking to me either way so if it drives enough people crazy and something was adjusted I would shrug and move on.

It is interesting how some things drive people crazy while barely eliciting any notice to others.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Yes, I think people should have enough courtesy to unsummon their pets in towns, but I don't expect them to do it. Neither I believe game should do it for them.

I have NEVER been unable to click a box or crafting table or NPC because of other people. These all have a very wide area of being able to click them.

no I'm not trying to micromanage anybody I am asking for the use of a table within content that I paid for too as I said "on a crafting table" you tell me one need for a pet? you cannot find one other than just to be outright rude and disrespectful of other people who paid for the game requesting for them to be removed

Crafting is not the only thing players do in town and I know you know that.

Then why don't you hold the game maker responsible for not making a pet repulsion field at crafting tables?

You know this whole thread shows what's wrong with our community we got a part of it asking for the use of something they paid for do you have the other part with every excuse in their mother as to why not to allow them to have what they paid for because if it doesn't bother you that it must not bother nobody but that's not the case and we should start supporting each other when they're saying they have a problem with something instead of saying well it's not my problem so *** off

    Your bias is showing again.

You got a part of the community asking to use what they paid for without any inconvenience (crafting tables and NPC quest givers)
    Vs.
You got a part of the community asking to use what they paid for without any inconvenience (Sorc and Warden pets)

And when numerous people start asking for Sorc and Warden pets to be taken away in cities (completely ignoring that Sorcs and Wardens paid to be able to use those skills in justice system, duels, and quests), it's no surprise that players aren't happy with those suggestions.

Then add it to battle spirit and enable it during combat only. While not in combat they act like mounts and non combat pets.

I mean. I am on board. I have been asking for exactly that for a long while. Also for general pvp and pve separate balance.

I do not suffer a petsorc or warden to live. I do not heal them and I am active in kiting mobs over to them.

I haven't said nothing about throughout the whole town or where a pet would ever be needed but as I said on a crafting table you tell me one General need for a pet
And yes I have suggested a general location preferably a crafting Hall that is completely built with walls around it with no NPCs in it but store Merchants as well as the daily craft wits and I would like to know how your pets would be needed to deal with it any of them people as well
Also have you ever noticed a sorcerer NPC walking around with his pets out maybe people should follow suit they're not needed for everything

Rather than a timer they could do something similar as when pets dismiss automaticall when you enter water.

This should be easy to code for town too, as they already did it for water.

Once you walk away the pet is up again automatically.

For now as some already said, the addon Petkennel is perfect. It offers options for the places you wish the pet to dismiss automatically. (Bank, vendor, crates, chest, dungeons ...)

Why should I lose my pet in water? That is quite dangerous, though I bet you don't play a pet sorc so you have no idea on this.

May be read again what i wrote :)

When my warden swim, the bear vanish by himself, no addon for that. No dismiss from me. Its automatic. Its from the game itsefl already. I just said to apply that rule to towns. As soon as you leave town, your pet comes back automatically.

    And ... i have 3 sorcerers.

That's a great idea, and should be easy enough for ZOS to code in. It might also slightly discourage annoying duelling in towns, which is just as intrusive as flapping pets.
