Please Add the Option to Hide Shoulders

Monster set shoulders really spoil the look of a carefully crafted set....moreover as there is only a unilateral shoulder they look ridiculous.

So as we can hide helms, why not shoulders?

I'm rarely one to blast ZoS for anything other than software quality or devops choices, but not putting a "hide shoulders" option into the outfit system by now is inexcusable.

The standard workaround -- not good but not wholly terrible either -- is to use the outfit system to equip the appearance of small, non-floaty shoulders. The usual choice, conveniently early in the alphabetic listings, is Akaviri epaulets.

I still feel this way, except that I sometimes use Dwarven Epaulets instead.

Seconded, thirded, x1000'ed... Shoulders can be very intrusive to a style, especially if it's a casual, non-armour one. There are very few pieces that are discreet, or can be blended with the sleeves if they are dyed in the same colour (the new Honor Guard motif is very good in this regard), but it's not always possible, and in some cases they stick out like a sore thumb. I realize that if ZOS starts making slots optional, then we will ask for belts, and so on, but personally, I'd be happy if it's just shoulders that can be hidden, as they've hindered many of my outfit looks.

The option to hide ANY armor piece would be great! < 3

The real problem is that they release chest motifs that look as if they are made for no shoulder pieces.

While we should be able to hide shoulders. I don't want naked people running around with full gear underneath the skin. It already basically happens with some costumes and is stupid.

Yes. And hip flaps, or tassets, or whatever they're called.

Oh gawd yes these. On many outfits (robes!) they look so out of place that I wonder the outfit didn't just omit a texture for it.

They also clip into pants more often than not, boooooo

We already have that option. Why are people complaining? Just like putting a mask on a vampire. We already have the option of doing so.

    Sheesh.

I'll add my vote to this again.
Hiding shoulders, chest, belt, gloves, and boots would be awesome.
Im not that keen on hiding pants myself, but toss those in as well for those who want to!

I suspect they are holding onto this as a future base game update padding for when they don't have any other ideas tho...
    So maybe next Q1? Maybe?

I want this added so bad for the outfit system. Some motifs look great without shoulders.
    Yes pls.

Agree, better yet options to hide any and all part of body.
    No pls.

Seriously no. I don't want to see bottomless or full naked toons running around towns and everywhere in pvp.

This has been asked so many times yet we did not get any answer from the devs :(

People want to make their own light costumes... Why not let them?

Also I would like to hide the chest piece flaps which for some styles are ridiculous. Why does the dwemer light robe/jerkin has such oversized flaps? In the case of robes, you have flaps that go over the robe like a second layer. I sort of understand these flaps in the case of plate armor, there are some historical designs which feature similar protection, but for cloth robes, they just ruin the design!

The new Elsweyr styles have small flaps, but also these look silly... what is their purpose for light armor? I understand these design elements for medium or heavy armor where the player would wear melee weapons, so the flaps are like an anchor point for the dagger/sword/etc. But in the case of light armor, the player uses a staff so I would rather have a strap on the chest piece to suggest that the staff hangs on that strap rather than it is floating on my back.

I'd like this option to be available since some types of shoulders pieces don't seem to fit very well on some chars depending on their body type. As the pieces don't scale according the the body type in a right proportion.

I agree. It'd be great to hide shoulders (and other armour for that matter).

Commercially, there's a good reason to do it, too. You can't show off body tattoos if you are wearing full armour. I'm sure sales of body markings would go up if we could be a bit more selective about what armour slots are full, without taking actual armour pieces off.

    Please ZoS. Pretty please......?

Why should they just "put it in" when they can... sell you the option someday?
    ...
...which totally would be fine with me.
I'd spend good crowns on the option of having outfits without shoulders now and then...

Fluff-wise its easy enough to explain with "invisible armor" or "illusion disguises" anyhow, just like all those costumes...

That really only proves they had a User Interface for it, not that the code behind it, to actually do so, existed. However, it's about time they did have working code.
