@Linaleah please message me if we are in game at the same time soon. Day 1 I already have one duplicate style page, happy to trade to you in advance for hypothetical duplicates you may get in future that I need. From the other thread, I got 5 pages out of 9 boxes on day 1 so I think getting most of them by the end of the event should be OK.

It's a little excessive, but nowhere near what I've seen elsewhere.

I used to play an MMO with over 25 different currencies.

In fairness, we don't have something I've seen repeatedly, where each individual zone has its own grind currency. So, you grind in one area, you generate a currency for a token vendor in that zone. Once you leave that zone (or level out of it) that currency becomes completely worthless.

I wish I could sell back the berries. I didn’t want this Indrik but I didn’t want to waste participation in events. So in order to continue participating I had to buy “something”. I already bought a second set of feathers in anticipation for when the nascent disappears upon evolving. but then There were 3 more events to do.

It’s not cool, this system.

It’s not excessive because you use those currencies where you get those currencies. You don’t take AP to the overland merchants and buy potions with it. You don’t use Undaunted keys to buy Crown items.

You earn AP in Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds, and can only use it at Cyrodiil and Battleground merchants

You earn Undaunted keys from Undaunted pledges, and can only use them at the Undaunted enclaves.

You earn Tel Var and Key Fragments in the Imperial City, and can only use them within the Imperial City

Crowns are bought for real money, and can only be used in the cash shop

Gems are obtained from and usable only with crown crate items.

Aside from gold, every currency is self contained to its particular activity, with the one exception if you stretch it being Transmute Crystals, because it comes from both forms of endgame content of PvE and PvP. Outfit tokens can’t even be called a currency any more than a Name Change token could be, it’s Crowns condensed into an item.

I happen to be (yes I'm nuts) doing this event on 3 accounts, and on my main, I'm doing this both EU and US side. out of 12 boxes I got on a first day - wanna guess how many of them contained motifs? if you say zero - you'd be correct. now, its just rng, you say, there are more days still left. yes. there are. but its STILL indicative of drop rates. and I'm NOT the only one with these types of abysmal drop rates.

and herein lays a problem. a collector? unless they are either very lucky, or very rich - has little to NO chance to collect all the style pages in a single event, and no, don't even dare starting with "you can collect them next year" anniversary specific motifs had higher drop rates, AND we got more boxes per day we could get to increase out chances. and even with severe ticket limits, there was still enough tickets to allow us to catch up on indriks at leas, and usually you'd get enough tickets per event, plus extras to get both the limited time berry AND a feather.

this is the FIRST TIME that our chances are stacked THAT badly against us... unless of course you cave in and buy tickets with crowns.

THAT.. is a problem. that mathematically a single player is unlikely to be able to farm up all the pages themselves? IS A PROBLEM.

And they want you to buy the tickets to even the odds....

nope, its 26. there is a 8 hour chunk after reset that you can get 2 more tickets from. since event starts AND ends at 10 am, while quest reset is at 2 am.

@reoskit i wish I could shake my computer and make it be nice to me. or ESO. or something. but I'm not kidding, RNG absolutely HATES me in this game. it hates me to the point where if I'm farming for something specific from a dungeon for example - it doesn't drop for ANYONE in a group so I cannot even trade for it.

and while yes I was going on a basis of one day - it was still 12 boxes that i was going off of, not just 3.

as for keeping pages on vendor indefinitely - YES. YES please. contrary from discouraging people participation which is what current system does actualy since you may not want whatever current crop is, so you just skip events - it would encourage participation as you can keep farming for things you have missed out on - in future events.

I'm going to give it a few more days and see how it goes, but... here is the fun part. even if I use the other 2 accounts to feed my main, its STILL a crap system IMO, as I personaly think that i should be able to earn everything on a single account. but that's just me

what are you on about? You can get the style pages from the boxen 3 times a day, and I have been having to spend off tickets to where I am halfway through my 3rd Nascent Indirik (after buying the last berry and evolving my first one and then unlocking my second Nascent), I'm easily going to make enough tickets to not only buy the new cosmetic pet Indirik, but a 3rd feather for my 3rd Nascent. We're getting plenty without spending any crowns.

I didn't know the droprate was this bad for some people. I've opened 9 of those stupendous boxes and have gotten 5 pages with no dupes. I hope that the majority isn't suffering from crap rng.

It's style pages not motifs so there's really no reason to care about them (like completing motifs improves your chance at getting master writs I hear) unless you're actually going to use the skins, and I don't really plan to. So if I get them whatever.

In general the drop rate seems somewhere between 3 and 5 per 9 stupendous boxes, something around 40%, so all you’ve gotta do is wait and buy them once everyone’s selling duplicates

you have forgotten about key fragments from Imperial City DLC that are probably the only way to get Xiv motif (unless some sort of event appears and of course buying them from guild store)

The chance to get master writ drops from completed motifs is minuscule.

In fact, it's so small, I can't tell you what it is. I want to say it's a 2% increase if you have every (non-crown) motif completed. If you want to get the exact number, I'd recommend taking a look at @Inklings's content. He's done some really good writeups on how to optimize your crafting output.

I really wish eye rolling was an emoji. Remember worm cult chests, or the one from arenas that was selling for 75k+ during the festival? Those are going for chump change now, I think the most expensive I’ve seen in a while is 30k, and there were plenty more cheaper than that.

The tickets aren’t particularly limited, there’s a cap so people don’t just hoard them forever and stop participating. The ticket items are a reward for continuous participation, by design. Three boxes at basically 40% drop rates a day for 13 days seems pretty reasonable. Players may freely trade their pages, or sell their pages, or plain ol gift them. There will be plenty extra floating around by the time the second week starts, that much I’m sure of

Edit: on top of that, there’s 26 tickets from this event, with the last one carrying over enough extras to get the last berry on day 1. So that would be 10 for the berry already saved, 10 for the pet out of the 26 during the event, then 16 more for any of the pages you want once the last days get here

If you’ve been participating, you’ll have plenty

Prices was not very high since first day. In first 24 hours I saw at least three offered ~30-35k. First day. When other new styles sometimes are sold for more than 100k in first day. How much will this cost two days before event ends?

If everybody has terrible chances - then, yes, that's fault. When only some - that's just their bad luck. It is normal to trade items, so while there is enough pages in guildstore - that will be ok.

and the drop of SOME sort of page was 100% guaranteed. you had 50/50 chance of which page it would be, but you were always guaranteed to get A page. which is not what we have here with jesters festival, not even remotely.

I just got my first page in 3 days on 3 accounts. participation with only 3 chances per account is NOT a guarantee

i really do wish eyeroll emoji was a thing, becasue i'm rolling my eyes at all of you coming here with you platitudes right now.

there are 10 pages total. you can buy 3 of them with tickets if you buy a pet, which I will. 5 if you do not. there rest is rng.

I'm almost wondering if those of you who are dismissing concerns are the very players who are lucky enough to get these pages, don't care about learning them and are making bank selling them.

The sole purpose of the cadwell motif for tickets is another way for players to spend tickets,to get them spending more tickets in an attempt to encourage players to buy it for crowns. But in reality i feel more saddened by this direction.
As at the core eso is great game & there are so many better things they could do to improve the game.

I stopped chasing Indriik 2 events ago cause I wouldn't trade my great elk for the world

I used to switch alts to do event quests over and over but I cant bring myself anymore to do that. On top of that this jester event currently running has exactly the same quests as past year. Why not make a crazy dungeon that is only available during jester festival,something more awesome .Cause if its gonna be same old ,same old with few achievements added to it,long time players won't even bother eventually.

I don't get the whole "Cadwell" thing (and I don't really care so no one needs to point out to me the error of my ways thanks - not you Lin.... but there are others....)

So of the motif drops when the event is done, if there's anything you need, just let me know, and if I have it it's yours. I got the bow on one account today - don't know which one right now as that's how SO not interested I am. I'm much more interested in giving them to you - because you are a really class act.
