4000+ high pingTODAY

To be clear I never had ping higher than 500ms unless in Cyrodiil with 60+ people around me before, and PvE and questing have always being smooth enough to progress. But after logging in the game today, my ping keeps going up to 1500+ and even over 6000+ while I was not even doing anything. I checked my internet speed and rebooted the router, but with 500mbps+ download speed/ 620 upload speed and a FPS ranging from 90-110, I kept getting 4000+ ping and got kicked out the server.

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me? And Is there a way to fix this?

Since last night I have had ping like 50-100 higher than normal just in pve zones

I have not been experiencing anything like that recently. Ping can be affected by a great deal of things well before the game servers are involved.

I was hitting ping between 1500 and 9800 just before coming here to the forums to see if others were having problems. Just checked with my internet provider though (Centurylink) and they are having a huge problem in this area.

I had ping spikes over 10k and crashed 4 times in 15 min before just gave up. But my streams also keep being interrupted and giving errors in both Netflix and Hulu. I'm pretty confident that the NA issues tonight are related to ISP and maybe major regional routers in the western US, and not a Zeni problem.

After some googling I think the huge ping problem is associated with Centurylink services outage today as it is reported that:

"CenturyLink customers across the nation are experiencing phone-signal and internet outages."

"The website downdetector.com, which detects technology outages in real time, reported that customers have been impacted in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Denver; Seattle; Boise, Idaho; Dallas; Los Angeles; Chicago; Phoenix; and parts of Montana."

I’ve been getting spikes today too.

Seems similar to when there are faulty nodes on the more common routes to the server.

My ping was bad too. I simply logged and played something else...

i had big issues with ping spikes last night. I assume it was my ISP though as there were (are still?) huge issues in NA. After i reset my router latency was normal.
