Zenimax and Amazon dropped the ball.

    I dont agree, I pre-ordered Diablo III and other games via Amazon, everything is good. Only this time, feel so bad. Why ZOS cant keep things simple? Why send the code again and again, one for early access, one for main game, another for explore pack..... Your system should know how many people pre-order with you, and what kind of edition they purchased.

    Those of you saying Amazon oversold are uninformed. Zenimax is the problem here.

    Well, i got a delivery date now. Looks like i'm getting it on the 8th. So now i'm going to be locked out for two days on sunday while my friend who also had this problem will be getting his box tomorrow. WTF..

    Seems as though the complaining may be worth it as it appears that my order is preparing to be shipped and my card has been charged. I'd like to thank the following people...myself and everyone else on the thread that complained enough to make this happen. I love the power of this inter-web-net thingy!

    All I can say is that I have mine reserved at a Gamestop where I know the staff. If THEY sold it, they will be required to hunt one down from other Gamestops and ship it to me overnight. Plus, depending on the situation, give me a full refund.

    They did that for my Diablo 3 CE when it first came out a few years ago.

    @Sparechange49‌ Mine just updated - I edited my post but it's buried now. :) I am hoping it's a good sign? It got changed to April 8, but that still doesn't help with getting locked out on Sunday because no one has it together. I tried to play for a little bit earlier and I couldn't even enjoy it because I'm so upset about this.

    I've put a lot of time into this game as a tester, and I was so excited for launch. It's disheartening that this has happened, yes, but my main question now to both companies is: what are you going to do to fix it?

    And PLEASE just give us some answers!!

    They seem to be giving them out as they find free ones from canceled orders and the like. Congrats though! Hopefully they'll figure it out for the rest of us too.

    Yeah, I just picked up my copy from Gamestop this morning. I always prefer ordering these things from a brick and mortar store, so I have someone to yell at face to face in case there is an issue.

    Here's why I use Amazon... since day one they opened.. I have never had them deny me a refund.

    best example.. Star Wars online. After I played 30 days, I asked for a refund because I wasn't going to subscribe and I felt cheated by all the glitches and obviously undeveloped gaming. I had crash after crash. Amazon refunded my full price the same day I asked them to.

    They have been way above and beyond any online retailer I've ever dealt with. Blaming them for Zenimax not giving them the number of copies they said they would or on time is just silly.

    Your anger should be with Zenimax/distributors... your recourse is with Amazon. You are actually lucky there.. because they will actually respond to you.

    Look, I'm not saying ZOS could not be the one at fault here, I'm saying it seems to me like the mistake is with Amazon due to them listing the product as available until this morning. If ZOS oversold them, or failed to deliver the product on time, wouldn't they have known before now?

    That guy who posted the email indicates it could be either of them at this point, but Amazon has already been giving out bad information.

    If you have any info on what's going on please post/link it, so we all can see what happened to our orders.

    I talked with Amazon customer services several days before, they told me they will also send a code after launch, just in case someone didn't get the hard copy.

    And since Gamestop actually guarantees their preorders, if they sell your copy by mistake they HAVE to make it up to you by getting you the game (even if it's out of their own pocket) plus a refund, and sometimes they'll give you a $50 gift card.

    Gamestop or Amazon... they can't sell or make good for something that doesn't exist. that's the sad truth.

    If your gamestop mistakenly sells your copy, they can only get it from another shop if there is one to get.

    That's the problem right now...

    Same thing with me. Ordered it feb 19th, did get a head start code, but now no date on arrival. I BETTER not get cut off for not having a sub in when sunday rolls around.

    I left a message with amazon just now hopfully they will get back to me. im just upset cause you know whats gonna happen is this issue is gonna be completly unresolved and come Sunday everyone that ordered the Physical Collectors Edition is going to be screwed. im also upset cause i have no idea how i should proceed on this?

    I just want to know that if I just go ahead and switch to the digital IE if I will get the preorder bonuses.

    They have been able to determine that there is indeed a problem, and think that maybe there should be some sort of solution.

    I had this exact same conversation with a customer service agent, only to be told by another that it wasn't true, and that if you got the delay message they were out of stock for a month at minimum.

    OH HELL NO!!!! But that would explain the "you need to confirm the approval of delay in shipment my MAY 4TH, or the order willb e cancelled" *about to completely lose it*

    I got 4 in the area, 2 of them had the physical imperial edition in stock.
    Check the local stores, if you can get one, grab it and cancel your online order.

    I assume, if you do this, you don't get the pre-order bonuses( pet, being able to play in any faction, treasure maps). I think it's better to wait and let ZOS and Amazon fix their own stuff before making a decision. I know it's risky but I'll give it a try.

    Called Amazon again. They say there is nothing they can do, waiting to see if Zenimax will send them another shipment but not taking responsibility for it. Basically they just say to wait for something that may never happen.

    Since we lose the Explorer's pack code for changing our orders at this point, we're all screwed.

    I have friends who ordered the game after i did, and got their physical copies. TOTAL horse ***.

    I spoke with ZOS CS, he stated that if I cancel my amazon order and order the imperial edition from them my current progress should be fine, but I don't know i think zenimax needs to make a statement on this to be sure.
