Zenimax and Amazon dropped the ball.

Here's why I use Amazon... since day one they opened.. I have never had them deny me a refund.

best example.. Star Wars online. After I played 30 days, I asked for a refund because I wasn't going to subscribe and I felt cheated by all the glitches and obviously undeveloped gaming. I had crash after crash. Amazon refunded my full price the same day I asked them to.

They have been way above and beyond any online retailer I've ever dealt with. Blaming them for Zenimax not giving them the number of copies they said they would or on time is just silly.

Your anger should be with Zenimax/distributors... your recourse is with Amazon. You are actually lucky there.. because they will actually respond to you.

Though, my delivery estimate is still today, and it actually said it left Tennessee this morning, so maybe I will get it today.

I ordered it January 30th. Weird that so many other people are having issues.

Look, I'm not saying ZOS could not be the one at fault here, I'm saying it seems to me like the mistake is with Amazon due to them listing the product as available until this morning. If ZOS oversold them, or failed to deliver the product on time, wouldn't they have known before now?

That guy who posted the email indicates it could be either of them at this point, but Amazon has already been giving out bad information.

If you have any info on what's going on please post/link it, so we all can see what happened to our orders.

This doesn't really affect me, but it's pretty clear that Zenimax needs to extend early access. If they don't, I see a lot of cancelled orders coming their way.

I'm equally upset with Amazon and ZOS. The problem at this point isn't who to blame, the problem is who will provide the solution.

I have used Amazon for years as well and I believe the issue will be fixed one way or another, but really there has been nothing other then "we are working on it" or "there is an unspecified delay".

Neither response is adequate in my opinion.

I'd just love a CS response about the "If we cancel, do we lose our preorder bonuses, even IF we buy direct through ZOS" @ZOS_AlanG @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌

    Thanks.

Have exactly the same issue, just checked my mail. They had it set for over a month that i would get my game on the 4th, and then they changed it all the sudden. I am kind of pissed off about this.

What I am saying is that in every case where I pre ordered from them and there was a problem, I got an email saying there was a delay. What I am guessing is that they were still expecting zenimax to get them the rest of the boxes yesterday and they didn't.

If they got them yesterday, they would have overnighted them. It's happend that way for me in the past at no extra charge.

I hope everyone gets the game they want, but if they don't have it, they don't have it. Its obvious they were still expecting it yesterday.

From my personal experience with them and literally thousands of orders, they have by far the best customer service on planet earth.

As I said, I got a full refund for swonline after playing a full month.

This isnt just a simple case of extending the deadline. Many of us that ordered from Amazon wont be getting our orders, period. I preordered feb 2nd just to be told only today they are out of stock. CE edition had limited numbers, if they are out, they arent getting more. So for people like me, were screwed.

Funny thing was i remember reading a month ago zenimax was working with amazon to make sure everything was alright.
  • PumpkinKing14
A solution to this would be nice. Hopefully someone steps up and extends the early access at least. I can wait on the physical items, but if I'm locked out Sunday, I'll probably cancel my preorder.

My boxed version of The Elder Scrolls Online didn't turn up either, neither did my nice new graphics card; both were dispatched yesterday by Amazon using Royal Mail's ironically named "First Class" post, which probably explains why.

I do not expect we lose anything in case of perks just game time. If you were in BETA you get the monkey. Anything else we not got yet because we not yet got our game codes yet. Game codes had been emailed like early access would things better.

I am really wondering what is going to be done about this, I am having the exact same issue and I really do not want to be locked out of the game on Sunday while waiting for the mail to run.

I'm also in this boat, all they need to do is extend the grace period until we get our copies or fix it so we don't lose preorder bonuses if we buy a digital copy.

That fix won't help me, personally. I'm unwilling to buy a digital edition as long as the ability to buy a standard physical edition exists.

At the very least, they stand to lose money from a couple days of subscription fees that they would otherwise have by not locking people out of the game until their physical copies arrive.
I'm completely baffled by this decision from a company supposedly wanting to make money.

I just got off the phone with Amazon CS. They told me the quantities were limited and there was an error with the distributor, so they may not be able to fulfil all orders. Apparently they were shipped without regard to the date the order was placed, so some of those in the second window (Feb 19-21) will get their order while those in the January window will not, though they are trying to get an update from the distributor on additional quantities.

They said to contact ZOS regarding questions about loss of preorder bonuses if we apply a digital order code.

so...Amazon says est delv tues now...I wonder if as people cancel their Amazon box edition if it will free up more and deliver sooner?

I was told by an ESO rep that we are screwed. On 4/6/2014 our accounts will be frozen and not able to play until this is resolved. I have been on the phone with Amazon and they are saying this is the publishers fault, and ESO is telling me this is Amazons fault. Great Job ESO for freezing the accounts on customers that chose to buy the most expensive copy of this game and are put here buy no fault of there own! I really hope that ESO provides a better update other than "You're SOL"

I too received an email from Amazon this morning stating that they can not fulfill my preorder and was given the date of May 4th. I chose to cancel my order with them at this time as they have done nothing but lie. Just last week I received an email from them stating that my order had been bumped up from 1 day shipping to same day release shipping. Up until this morning my delivery estimate was 4-4-14 by 8:00 pm. I am talking with a guy locally trying to pay him double for his copy that he bought at Gamestop. If that doesnt pan out by tomorrow afternoon I will just buy a digital copy from the Zenimax store.

Don't count on it... recourse with Amazon Is to get your money back, They don't make the game or the promises about how many and when they will get them. Zenimax does that.

Any account issues you have from buying a new game should be dealt with through support at zenimax. I would be surprised if they aren't figuring out how to fix problems already. They messed up big here and they know it.

And therein lies the issue. If there are in fact no more CE copies to give out then so be it. However waiting until release day to realize that is ludicrous.

If that is the case then either Zenimax or Amazon need to make that announcement.

Whoever dropped the ball needs to step up and take accountability and make things right.

If there would have been an announcement yesterday's saying there were no more CE's then great everyone coukd have canceled their orders and purchased digital editions to at least cover thier pre-orders.

Customer Service is not a difficult as these companies make it out to be.

They just need to make it right.

I wanted to post this here incase nobody reads the thread i made. just for some extra info. Here is the chat i had with amazon REP. It seems as if our orders will just be LATE, not taken away from us.
Me: It told me my delivery date would be on the 4th for over a month, and the day the 4th comes, now all the sudden it changes. I want to talk to someone now please.
Alok: Hello, my name is Alok. I will be happy to assist you.
Me: Thanks Alok how are things today.
Alok: I am sorry to know that the promised date for your order has changed.
Unfortunately, the item has gone out of stock So we are unable to grantee a date at present. I am extremely sorry for the disappointment.
Me: Soooo it could be another 6 months until they re make another order?
or it could be never, pretty much
Alok: No it won't be. As this item is much in demand we will be stocking it very soon. I request a you to wait just a few days more. We will send you an email as soon as process the order.
Me: But if it is out of stock and its a collectors edition LIMITED quantity item, how does that make me feel any better about getting my product?
Alok: I understated and your doubts are genuine but still I request you to wait for few days. If the case was that we won't be stocking it, soon we would have notified you accordingly.
Me: So its not that you arent getting my order in stock, its that it didnt arrive as it should have for the delivery date of today.
and that i will receive my order at a later date ?
Alok: Correct. It generally happens when we expect to receive a product from a supplier on a fixed date but supplier fails to deliver it to us in time. This doesn't mean that we won't be fulfilling these our orders.

I sure hope that that isn't true. I really don't think that it is. However, if it is in fact Zenimax's stance on the issue, and they could care less, I'm not interested in supporting them anymore. No matter how much I love this game, I'll take my $60/month subs (4*15) somewhere else.

Oh boy, So ESO is laying the blame on Amazon. So Amazon just pulled my key out of thin air eh? Up until today I was a huge fan of this game. That is why I wanted the stupid box. Were all our keys the same?
