Zenimax and Amazon dropped the ball.

Thanks @ZOS_AlanG for looking into this. As everyone else has stated, my order was also 'delayed' by Amazon, with no expected ship date now. I ordered on February 21. I would gladly cancel the Amazon order and buy straight from Zenimax, but also do not want to lose the preorder bonuses.

So I pre ordered the Imperial collector's edition the first week of February from Amazon and the status has said expected deliver date of 4/4/2014, which is what you would expect right? Well as of last night the status of my order was still not shipped. I was hoping for a glitch.

AAAA this is F***** up. I thought that only "late-commers' of pre-orders (when they opened it back up during Feb 21-24) had their orders shipped. But if everyone did this is bad.

I know Amazon is /epicfail because they have failed me before including easy stuff like the release of WIndows 8 (which of course no one but me bought so shouldnt'a be that hard).

DO NOT BUY VIDEO GAMES FROM AMAZON! EVER!

...of course I already knew this but GameStop sold out before I made the "decision to buy" so I was forced into gambling with Amazon.

Hopefully they will not take away the preorder Explorer code pack from us if we bail the Amazon order cause I will serioiusly consider /bail this game if that is the case.
    Indeed it is so...

I'm in the same position. I got told 1-2 weeks, though.

I am beyond upset about this - I should have gone to the GameStop like I had planned.

    I shouldn't have trusted Amazon. :(

That is the exact issue. All they need to do is send us the codes, it is that simple. The physical copies can be delayed as long as they need.

No it is not that simple... Because there is a code in the box... if they gave you 2 then you would have 2 accounts...

The solution is simply to extend the grace period. Problem solved.
    Indeed it is so...

I'm upset at trusting Amazon as well. The other question I have is if they'll strip our preorder bonuses if we cancel and order a digital copy through the ZOS store. I really wanted the book, but not if it means release is on May 4th instead of today.
  • miked_1_ESO
I haven't been contacted by Amazon but my order was placed 30 January and I have a shipping date of 9 April. Not sure what got mixed up, but this would be the first MMO I pre-ordered that didn't arrive on launch date. Normally amazon has it in shipment the day before.

Like others stated, as long as I get my CE code to put it, I can wait for the physical items.

Wanted to echo others' sentiments. I ordered second week of February and am getting the same delay notification as others have reported. I also can wait for the physical items if need be, but being booted from the game for Amazon's mistake is not going to be acceptable if it comes to be the case.

Can we get any word on if our preorder bonuses will be stripped if we cancel and reorder with ZOS? @ZOS_AlanG‌ ?

I am in the same boat as everyone else :( got my email saying its been delayed and no future date given
  • ThommyGunn
Ok, so I confirmed I still wanted to keep my order, then I got an email about my card being declined. I called em up and they said I should be good now, not sure why it was. But here's hoping they just had a system issue. Good luck all.

I'm talking about Amazon by the way.

So I am not the only one that want's to play but will not receive his game today...here's my thread:

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/65680/three-days-two-support-tickets-and-still-no-clear-answer-to-my-question#latest

So far the support thinks my case is an exception and they still can't provide any solution to the issue :)
  • darkphoenix77b14_ESO
I ordered through Amazon as well, my last email was that it was shipped and should be here today. I hope this is still the case, not sure of the date but I ordered mine the day that the video came out showcasing it and explaining what was in it.

I just thought of something. Will we be loosing access to our Explorers packs?? My character is an Altmer on Daggerfall Covenant, I would really hate to lose that feature because Amazon screwed up.

As much as this pisses me off too I think the thread should be changed to amazon dropped the ball. No other company (to MY knowledge) is having this sort of issue. All my friends that got this from game stop and other places are already enjoying there trinkets. I dont think zenimax is to blame on this one.

This is what I was asking above. I'd imagine the two codes are independent of each other, but it would be game killing if they aren't. Of course, this whole thing about having to wait an extra month just to see -if- they can get the copy we were promised with no game access during that time is bad enough.
  • amstermmoub17_ESO
@Darrett Yea, I am super confused on it, because the Explorers pack was kind of a half now and half later deal. You got half early with the pre-order code, and the other half when you entered the Explorers pack code. We no longer are able to get an Explorers pack code, so does that make the rest of it invalid once April 6th comes and goes? I hope they give us an answer on this soon.

I do not know if it is an issue with Amazon over selling the CE or an issue with Zenimax not being able ship enough boxes. I don't know either way so the pair of them are at fault in my eyes.

That being said I do care how they fix it.

    Extended grace period, great.

Providing game codes and invalidating the codes in boxes, neat

Giving us an answer so we know if we need to cancel our orders and pick up a digital edition, whatever.

Regardless of the end result, both Zenimax and Amazon need to come up with an amicable solution.
  • adamwfuchsnub18_ESO
Same thing happened to me, Amazon support was no help at all. Need to know if I should cancel

We wanted to step back in to let everyone know we're still working on this matter.

For those of you getting your physical Imperial Editions later than today, all Early Access customers will be granted an extended grace period until Sunday at 8AM EDT/12PM GMT before they are required to transition their account to live. This will cover online retail customers who didn’t get their boxes shipped in time (and also give digital customers more Early Access time).

    Thanks for checking in @ZOS_AlanG‌.

The issue of course will not be rectified with a 48 grace period , given that the physical CE editions many of us ordered apparently do not exist.

    Keep at it though.

I just got a notification from Amazon with an updated delivery date, so they seem to be trying to get on top of the issue.

That's nice, but my estimated delivery date is now the 8th... That's 2 days that I'm not going to be able to play because of Amazon's error. Is there nothing that can be done to alleviate this issue for those of us who won't be getting their copy until after the grace period expires?

Thanks for the response @ZOS_AlanG, however, Sunday will cover almost no one in this thread since Amazon isn't shipping until today at a minimum, meaning that you would receive your copy by Monday at the earliest. Most of us, myself included, probably won't even have ours shipped today, if at all.

So no, this will not cover online retail customers who didn’t get their boxes shipped in time.

Wow, I decided to sleep in since UPS and FedEx don't normally get to the house until 1pm. I woke up, checked my e-mail and have this issue?! I didn't even know this was a thing! Even if my order ships today I won't get it until Monday at the EARLIEST. This is my first experience in pre-ordering a game through Amazon, so I had no clue that they would drop the ball like this. I have not read the entire post, but overall, does it look like we are screwed?

Any word on whether or not retailers oversold? Or if there are any reasons in general that some of us would not be receiving our orders? I know it's probably not on your end, but that information is kinda important for deciding what we should do at this point with respect to purchasing a replacement copy. Thanks for the hard work guys.

Sunday won't cut it for this, we're looking at a month with the potential of never getting it at all if Amazon oversold.
  • fenris4024
I'm still curious if we cancel the Amazon "might never get it" orders, and buy a direct digital CE from ZOS, do we lose our Explorer's pack because of the messup between Amazon and potentially ZOS? I'd LOVE some clarification on that.
    Thanks.

This is exactly why I cancelled my Amazon order and went direct. It happened to me with FFXIV and I didn't get it until 2 days after launch and I paid for same day delivery @ £8. Once bitten, twice shy and all!

Well, I am not sure I even want to get on and play now. After I preordered a game for a 108 bucks 2 months ago the threat of being locked out Sunday is beyond the pale. To bad my first post has to be this.
