What are your opinions on the new homes?

The Psijic villa is really good looking. If I would have to make a remark then I would love to get inside the tower, and I would love a bit more space with more natural vegetation to make a cosy garden.

•Which of these homes do you plan to get if any?

I wish I knew this was coming, then I would not have bought the grotto. But since I allready spent a lot of crowns on the grotto and the town house, I will not be getting this.

•What did the new homes do right that you would like to see repeated in future homes?

The villa has a lot of character to it. I really love the inside pool. Also: you get to get your own Island: how cool is that?

And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

I do love the Psijic Villa, and would not mind spending several millions of gold for it, but if its a limited time home i am going to pass on it. really hope its not though, Summerset needs a permanent notable home, and the aldmeri grotto is already a time limited offer.

I liked the pools and waterfalls, as well as the epic view of Artaeum.
But, it does need a higher furnishing cap like all Notable homes, i only furnished the left platform, and its already at 400/700.

It doesn't help that most Large furnishings that could help close the gap are crowns only or extremely rare. there is also the areas closer to the waters edge that could make for some interesting rooms, but require more extravagant conservatory furnishings. more glow flowers or moving corals, more animated Furnishings like the Coldharbour rift furnishing for an example, larger waterfall furnishings or something to blend the water with the island.

as for what i would like to see repeated in the future: better views, more water or natural effects; wind, leaves falling from trees, mist, etc. and pools. makes the place seem more alive and part of the world.

I made a thread for some strange bugs I have been experiencing in the housing editor, but it seems to have become lost so I shall copy and paste it here.

There have been some really weird bugs that have occurred whilst decorating the Hunter's Glade. I'm not sure whether it is just this house, as I haven't tested it out in any others as of yet. Firstly, and most strangely of all, things are moving by themselves! I will place an item, and then when I place another, they will swap places, or the item I placed previously will appear on top of the one I just placed, I even had an item appear up in the sky. I have been finding random items in weird places whilst decorating, where they have moved seemingly by themselves! Secondly, whilst moving items, I will place them, only for them to appear at a random angle in the spot I placed them in, and no amount of rotating and re-logging will fix this. I have noticed it mostly on large flat items, like the wide planks and the clockwork city platforms, but so far only in this house

I'm not sure what is going on, maybe I just have a meddlesome poltergeist in my Hunter's Glade, but I do hope it is gone before this patch hits the live servers, because I really want this house, it is amazing :grimace:

I just hope that the hunter's glade doesn't become a limited time house like Tel Galen.

And I hope that it does. Having something limited and exclusive is one of the reasons I even buy them. Clearly ZOS knows this as well; if you participated in a survey they sent a while back, it was very clear that they were gauging things exactly like that from people who buy crown store items.

And speaking of that survey, I and about 214 other responders here on the forum disagree with the approach that basically caters to envy and exclusiveness. There's always that other side of the coin.

The other side of the coin isn't making them money, though. It's a foregone conclusion the exclusive, limited, high-margin items like these drive a vast percentage of microtransactions in games.

    Really??!!

"Let's not allow most of our customers to spend the same amount as the others on an item. We'll make (5k x $100) and be happy with that when we could have made (25k x $100) over time."

    1) It's a virtual item of unlimited supply. It being exclusive is by definition a lie.

    2) Being unlimited supply, they would be stupid to deny themselves extra money.

    3) Not everybody even has the ability to drop $100 "at the drop of a hat" even if they want to. They may need to save up and still want to spend it on that house and only that house, but the developers would rather release more houses they don't want as also limited time rather than get $100 they would be guaranteed from that customer for something they actually want.

It would be like if food and water were exclusive as necessities, or gas. The companies know people are going to spend certain amounts of money on those, because people need them, so denying people the ability to purchase, given enough supply, would be financial suicide.
These house may not be necessities, but people definitely feel they "need" them enough to buy them just as easily, when they have the money.

It really is financially irresponsible of them to make these limited time and completely neuter their potential profits.

THIS. They lost out on my hubby buying the Grotto because we refused to spend less on fireworks and our family get together for the 4th so he could buy a virtual house. Even tho he has wanted a pirate ship since we started playing. Not all of us are well off single people. Some of us are normal people with families and budgets and can't always pull over a hundred bucks out of one paycheck for some pixels. Please remember this if you want our money Zos.

    I checked them out yesterday.

I'm personally not interested in the Artaeum home because:

    1) It's too big and not at all homely,
    2) The item limit won't be enough even if I did have grander housing ideas,
    3) Even if if the limit were raised, I couldn't afford to furnish it in the Alinor style with the culanda/jewellery mats issues.
    4) You're going to price at half the price I paid for my 48" 4k TV. Seriously please stop.

I'll admit the outside is gorgeous but agree that the inside feel like a church as another poster pointed out.

    Hunter's Glade:

I like it a lot. It's moody and atmospheric. But I don't need an empty forest to run around in. If we had real building sets in all styles other than blinding white, I'd probably really want it. Even better would be prefab shacks, barns and even small farm houses, animal pens and animals to go in them, windmills, ruined towers. You could build a small village there.

But alas, it's going to cost me half a week's rent so no thanks.

    @Saccarius totally agree

and most people reply like "no one is forcing you to buy that house"
    well, that's an interesting discussion, there are several types of players;
    - general PVE
    - PVP
    - Crafters
    - Social
    - Farmers
    - Vet content

and more, or a mix, thing is when ZOS decides tomorrow that PVP gear and items can only be obtained with crowns the whole forum would explode.....

Yes, some PVE gear you can only get from DLC dungeons, sort of crown based. however with ESO+ you get full access and make a choice whether or not you get that gear, houses are getting hidden behind insanely high crownwalls, once a year it seems now you get a nicely sized house for gold. Time limited to an event.... Long time ago High Hall, limited to insane achievement for the average decorater…

ZOS seems to deny the fact that housing and decorating it is the biggest gold drain in the game. That's a real good thing, keeps people running all over to get items, farm, make gold, makes the game alive and should be rewarded by offering similar housing for gold.

    @immozz01

I made a post in another thread and got a bit ranty about the fact that for players like me, the game is basically pay2win, because "winning" for me means the perfect outfit, the perfect mount and the perfect home with the perfect pieces so I can run around Tamriel living the fantasy life of a bow-wielding Breton sorcerer named Marc, who was separated from his twin brother at birth and brought up by a Nord Farmer and his wife in The Rift and is loyal to High King Jorunn. Meanwhile his brother Luc, who he has yet to meet, was brought up by his birth parents who are nobles living in Alcaire and was trained as a classic staff-wielding mage and fights proudly for King Emeric int he Covenant Army.

So while I enjoy questing and running the odd dungeon, cosmetic items are a HUGE part of the gaming experience and to lock everything away behind a crownwall (or even worse an RNG crownwall) as you put it, or to make any of it limited time or exclusive means forcing me to pay money to enjoy the game after I already pay a subscription fee and bought the collector's edition of both expansions or just go without.

I realise I can get a lot of crappy furniture easily for gold or save up for the bog standard homes but I want my equivalent of BiS gear, which means constant crates and furniture packs and buying directly from the housing interface because I just don't have the gold. I mean, I have already spent sooo much real money on this game I feel like I should just have access to every cosmetic item in it at this point. I mean how many hundreds or thousands do I need to spend to get all the things I want in a SINGLE game. It's ludicrous.

OK this post also turned out a bit ranty. Sorry about that but I'm on the brink of taking a complete break from this game because I'm sick of being fleeced for low-effort*, low-cost content that is important to me while high-effort, high-cost content like new dungeons, raids and battlegrounds are given away for the price of a pint of beer.

*I'm not saying the artists don't work hard but the money you need to spend on a single horse with special effects is the same as a month of ESO Plus and that gives you access to ALL the DLC content in the game or a single home, in a single environment cost ten times that amount or more.

if they say from tomorrow Cyro access only, if you pay $100 people would burn down ZOS studio..

I don't care about exclusive crown houses, but I should be offered the same amount of alternative houses for gold and not once a year one, available for a week

I'm glad that I could help  That villa!! I have just started decorating it, and am starting on the inside, I don't think 700 will be enough for even half of the interior which is a shame, because there are some lovely views outside :disappointed:

I look forward to seeing what you come up with, it's a tough challenge this one for sure. It's really disappointing that they basically dumped the Alinor Palace on such a beautiful island, it could have been amazing had the house been original with balconies letting you enjoy the wonderful views.

What are your opinions on the new homes?

Both are fabulous and a nice addition to the range.

Which of these homes do you plan to get if any?

I would buy Hunter's Glade ONLY if the light doesn't have to be orange all the time. So, either if I could change it or if it changed depending on the weather/time of day/whatever. I understand that it fits with the lore but it makes me feel queasy. I would like to turn it into a massive wilderness garden so would want it to feel lush and green. I'd probably use the internal areas to store plants

I would definitely buy it for gold (I might have to save up!) and would consider buying it for Crowns although it would depend on the price.

In general, I don't think I would spend as much as I spent on Observatory Prior again on any home. I would be happy to spend that amount on *something* in the game but I don't feel the value for money is there when I convert the Crown price to real life dollars... I'm happy to pay my monthly ESO+ craft bag fee and buy Chapters without thinking about it. I would spend more if prices were lower, including my saved up Crowns and real world cash!

I wouldn't buy Psijic Villa anytime soon because it's a very formal, classic home. It's beautiful but not the style I'm looking for at the moment - perhaps in the future.

I've done... Something with it, or more accurately, something with some of it. There are just too many issues here with this house to ignore. There have been problems with multiple houses dlc after dlc now, and it's got to a point where I'm just very frustrated! Which is unlike me

It also doesn't feel like a psijic home, it feels like a larger version of an Alinor townhouse to me.

What are your opinions on the new homes?

The Psijic Villa is very beautiful and majestic, but really, they just slapped a version of the Alinor Palace down in Artaeum and were like, "Ok, here's this huge dimly lit house with high vaulted ceilings and a spacious outdoor area to run around in, complete with pillar ruins and platforms! Btw, your furnishing cap is still 700. K, thnx! Bye!"
Also, what's with the unusable tower?!

Hunter's Glade, on the other hand, I think is mostly fantastic! I look forward to making it a druid and hunter's paradise! My only issue with it at this time is that I am not too crazy about the sickly orange color of the sky, even though it relates to the lore.
Note: I have yet to test the claim that we are supposed to be able to stay in werewolf form indefinitely while in the home.

Which of these homes do you plan to get if any?

Hunter's Glade, if it isn't more than 14,000-15,000 crowns furnished, because it will be easier to decorate within the current furnishing limits. I wanted a plot of land in the Hunting Grounds or Evergloam to make a druid-themed house, and I do not like the Coldharbor one.

On another note: ZOS seriously needs to raise the furnishing cap substantially, or start selling smaller homes.

After a frustrating time trying to decorate and giving it some thought, I am less inclined to purchase the beautiful Psijic Villa. I would LOVE something like it on a much smaller scale though if @Zos released another...or somehow downsized this one before release....or increased the cap significantly!

While within the Hunter's Glade, I could indeed remain in werewolf form indefinitely...or rather at least until I manually canceled the ultimate like an hour later. As I've said before, I'd still purchase this if it were not for the lighting.

I would like both smaller homes AND an item cap raise! I just worry that if they did do an item cap raise, it wouldn't be done correctly! If you look at houses as they are right now, there is a huge disparity between houses which are placed in the same categories! There needs to be either be more categories, or the categories need to be scrapped completely and the item cap needs to be based on the aesthetics of the building and/or outdoor space.

I visited the Psyjiic Villa on the PTS and the one thing that struck me as soon as I zoned in was the fakey looking decorative waterfalls in the main square. Honestly, they looked like one of those old animated motion lamps from the 1950’s where the heat from the lamp would cause a inner cylinder to spin creating a animation effect on the outer shade. Harsh, I know, but that’s the impression I got when looking at it.

I liked the house and grounds overall, but as others have noted, even when decorated it looks empty. There is just too much real estate to spread the 400 decorations when it’s furnished, and I don’t think the extra 300 furnishings would be enough to make the villa look “lived in”. Either ZOS will have to raise the furnishing cap, or stop coming out with these grand manors that’s a nightmare to decorate properly.

I have been wanting the Blackmarrow table recipe from Fang Lair/Scalecaller since it launched and as far as I can tell there have been ZERO looted on NA and I heard of one on EU...talk about bad drop rates! People don't farm 4-mans like they can farm Ayleid or Dwarven plans (which also could use a drop rate update OR add Furnisher Doc Envelopes for vouchers...)

List of things that should get changed:

    1. Fix the broken arches/pillars outside like others have said or make them removable.
    2. Fix the permanent library bookshelves that cannot be removed or edited or add them into the crown store.
    3. Make the upper two towers accessible outside.
    4. Increase the max furnishings to 1400 or 2000 because like others have said this place is huge and cannot be fully decorated with the current cap.
    5. Make it more Psijic-like architecture inside that matches the exterior architecture, I like the room in the back with the water since that room looks most as keeping with the Psijic ways. Maybe you could add more rooms that match that style instead of all the rooms that just copy the Alinor Palace and instead look like a church? I would have preferred more of a Traitor's Vault or College of Psijic Ruins style building like others have said here. I mean how hard would it have been to just copy and paste parts of Traitor's Vault or the College of Psijic Ruins instead of the Alinor Palace?

They are upping the droprates for the FL furnishings, mainly the puspocket mushrooms, as they admitted they dropped far less than intended (I've never even seen any of them on PC-EU).
They probably messed up the Blackmarrow table as well, wouldn't surprise me.

These droprates are so messed up, which is why I asked them to go through all the loottables again. Every single patch and update, they write in the PTS patch notes that something is "dropping less times than intended", while at the same time people get more and more frustrated trying to farm something that basically doesn't exist ...

valid point in a personal way.

however, I do not get it why people still do not understand why you can not raise the item cap. this game is running on a graphic engine, you can not just change that. it was not intended when it was designed to do what we do now, you can not just double the cap, our pc's will burn through the basement.

there are some very detailed posts on it on the forum on why they cant change that. It is a bit technical yes, but it can not be fixed in that way.

The fix is really easy, they should focus on releasing more complete items and asap if they want to sell so many houses for crowns (I am not a crown shopper)

if you can craft a dining table with full setting (plates, meals, drinks, perhaps even chairs) that will cut item count down down from 25 items to 1. it is as simple as that. if you want to pile up 50 intricate jewellery boxes in a corner, well I don't know what to say.

So if my PC is rocking 2 Geforce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards at 4k resolution and I'm getting well over 60 fps even in Cyrodiil (Vivec) on max settings with mega zergs, then are you saying that doubling the housing furniture cap to 1400 will seriously burn up my new gaming rig??? Sorry for all you console players, but you're out of luck since you can't overclock 2 graphics cards at max settings.
Man, you should go work for Nvidia then because obviously you know something the graphics card engineers do not when they designed these graphics chipsets.

One PTS week is over, and none of these issues have been adressed.

    - Clam ingredients need to be added to the daily alchemy writ reward boxes
    - Gryphon set needs to be converted from Ancient Elf to Sapiarch style
    - Enchant glow from weapons showing all the time needs to go
    - No fixes for the Eidetic Memory Summerset books that aren't obtainable
    - And added to my former list: Night Pumice for all the new golden mastercrafter recipe needs to be replaced with the proper Culanda and Vitrified Molondo materials instead

See you next week and hope you do better then ..

Can you buy the werewolf house with Gold? I can't get onto PTS until Friday

This is something that's kind of confusing to me. The tool tip for one of the parts of the DLC (when you hover over the features for the standard version) claims that you "Gain access to new Outfits, Costumes, Mementos, and Housing locations, including the weird Hunter's Glade in Oblivion itself" Which sounds like it would be obtainable through achievements and gold, like Hakkvild's High Hall, However when you preview the home it has no information about it being obtainable through unlocking the ability to purchase with gold. (And it also makes it sound as if there are more than one homes?)

What are your opinions on the new homes?

Psijic villa would've been gorgeous if it came with at least 2000 slots. 700 slots limit is a joke. I've seen decorated versions on youtube, but all of them seemed very... empty despite creator's talents and efforts. Seriously, when even those amazingly creative people struggle with decorating this house, it is an issue. Also, some bookcases, a fireplace and some other items seem to be glued to the walls for some reason which is a bad idea imo.
Another one looks pretty cool, but then again, I'm not spending real money on an empty digital room. Also I think it should've been a dungeon unlock, like that nord style house from HotR dlc.
Oh, and being able to stay in ww form is a cool feature for rp and making screenshots I guess.

I really dont understand what's the idea behind those giant houses. Yeah, obviously, ZOS wants to earn as much money as possible, like any other company. This is understandable. But in my opinion, they shoud make it more consumer-friendly.
For example, maybe there are technical difficulties that prevent expanding housing slots. But in this case, releasing giant villas, empty bookshelves etc seems very counter-productive. Why not to release some medium homes with 700 item limit? It would kill 2 birds with one stone: people would be happy to buy those houses and the limitations would be less obvious (and making them would require less work).
I also hate this "4 days limited edition" thing. I have some of those time limited mounts and costumes and for me they arent more "valuable" than non-limited ones... This is just stupid. I've also met a bunch of newer players who wanted to buy the island/Telvanni tower/etc but they cant because they were "limited". I personally think that it limits ZOS income, because not everyone plays since release without breaks.
Which of these homes do you plan to get if any?
None. If I'm going to spend real money on a digital house, it better be a fully customizable house, not a giant empty room.
I'm not interested in those unless they have at least 2k slots and even then I prefer medium houses.
What did the new homes do right that you would like to see repeated in future homes?
I really like overall style of those houses, art team is doing a really good job in my opinion.
Is there any items you see in the dlc that you wish were furnishings?

Gimme all those glowing mushrooms and flowers!
Also I would really like to see more customization options for existing homes. Being able to change skyboxes (even if it would be crown based) and lighting type (day/night, special types like Coldharbour lighting for example, etc) would be really great. For example, this Bloodmoon skybox would look really great in EP manor. :)
