Due to a UI error unless you have that amount of gold in your inventory you cannot respec - even though it only takes 1g/SP
from you
@Anethum this is a visual bug introduced when they dropped the price to 1g per skill point. It will be fixed in the next incremental patch.
As long as you have enough gold in your inventory to meet the visual cost, you will only be charged 1 gold per skill point, not the astronomical cost you're seeing.

With Update 19, you are be able to make smaller, more precise changes to your Skills thanks to the updated respec system. With this update, when you reset your Skill Points, you are able to remove Skills individually and are not forced to re-add all of them from scratch, much like how you respec your Champion Points. You can clear all your Skill Points like normal if desired, but this new system will mean that if you only want to make a small change to your character's Abilities, you can!
@ZOS_JessicaFolsom I don't get who brought this idea, but it's...
If u changed 3 skillpoints for example...even standart 14-17k is really a lot, but these... 80k?...who calculated this sadism?
What if u misclicked few skillpoints and need them to get back?
Or need small changes while testing something?
Why to not give us simple system, where u changed N skillpoints, system calculates this as N* fix gold = total gold amount you pay?
Do u think it's a bad idea for a system, in which u should come into few places in a whole tamriel (5 locations now yes?) and do that?
I don't do changes often as usual because of teleports etc, required for this. And additional cost discomfort here..why?
Really, respect us please, this is not fair now even when u pay 17k for respec
Today flexibility and quality of life is on demand, where is this in such respec system?
@ZOS_GinaBruno Where is here user-friendly approach?
