For the epic parts, particularly 50-1:35 and 2:10- 2:50 I feel the summerset main theme sounds MUCH more epic when you put the speed to 1:25, while the parts where it is far more harmonious are better off at regular speed.

This is the theme to Summerset?

    Seriously?

Jeezus, can someone please stop regurgitating the same song into different chords already?

    Very disappointed.

The only speed to make this theme sound the best is 0.

The beat isn't the issue, it's the chords.

Oblivion and Skyrim had their defining and unique theme songs. ESO (launch) had a great one too.

Since then, it's like the composer has taken every ES theme song, threw it in a blender, then dumped out the audible concoction.

    I expected better.

It's not a bad theme, just... Morrowind 1.5 with a rip from Oblivion, mashed up with chunks of Skyrim.

Hell, let's throw in a pinch of Lord of the Rings while we're at it.

    Bah.

Skyrim's theme was a variation on Morrowind's. ESO's original launch theme was a variation on Oblivion's.

It wouldn't be Elder Scrolls without that defining music, touched by Jeremy Soule. <3

As to the poll, I'm going to have to listen to it some more to fully decide!

For Summerset theme, I love the first epic part (0:50 - 1:35) the most; it's great on both speeds, but the increased speed variant sounds even better for me :) I would really prefer if this music started playing as soon as we get to login screen, to immediately set the mind for epic adventures. I won't wait 50 seconds each time I launch the game just to hear those tunes :/

As for current, Morrowind theme, I like the part from 0:37 - 1:05, and 1:35 till the end. I really wish the 1:35 part started immediately now, cause soon it will be replaced with Summerset theme, and it's actually first time I heard it - since I always log in as soon as I launch the game and never wait enough to listen to the whole intro music :/

Still mising the original main theme. Not the lame variations of Dovahkiin.

    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

The theme they did for Morrowind was awful compared to Morrowind original soundtrack. I am glad we are getting something new.

    Let's see.
We expected crystal towers - we got granite/marble boring architecture.
Many expected corals that would be colorful and nice and got sponge gray graveyard.
Almost all expected huge zone that will be less unexplorable due to huge mountains - we got auridonish size zone when you remove enormous mountains that made Vvardenfell look like a continent, when it comes down to area size.

Why would music be any different? You expected original score, and you ended disappointed once again.

I must also say, I'm very excited for Summerset and the loremaster has me on his side after his explainations. They also said in the stream, that the insect wings are there, they are under the city, so we may see them in the outlaws refuge.

I never liked ESO's music, they have somewhat the same style and it's a style that doesn't really appeal to me. What the sound team lacks, is a feeling for the right melody that makes you get goosebumps. ESO music does not have this feeling, it has no harmonic melodies and is afraid to go bombastic and celestial, it always stays in a grey area between good and annoying.

Take the music from the first Summerset gameplay trailer, THAT was the stuff. But of course, we won't get something like that in game.

I think the DLC music from Orsinium, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild is excellent, and very distinct as well. The overall soundtrack of ESO is alright, nowhere near bad, but also a bit generic at times, but particularly those 3 DLC stand out to me as very well done.

I'll agree that Morrowind and to some extent Summerset (though I've only hear a very few pieces from Summerset until now) seems a bit too generic TES, it's still nowhere near bad, it just doesn't stand out that much.

Oh, and also CWC I found extremely well done, and very distinct and unique.

In general, all the ESO music is very well done, though of course some DLC pieces stand out more than others. We still haven't gotten any music in ESO that I would consider bad in any way, but I will agree that sometimes the music tries too much to emulate the old Morrowind/Skyrim Jeremy Soule feel, such as was the case with the Morrowind Chapter. I prefer it when Brad Derrick goes his own ways, such as what he did with IC, Wrothgar, Gold Coast, Hew's Bane and Clockwork.

Kinda dissapointed in it tbh, most games when you hear the theme you want to be inspired and motivated to jump head first into that world, this doesn't make me really wanna jump into anything.

You have quite the penchant for asking for things that can't happen.

They can't just press a button to "speed it up". It'll require recomposition, getting the orchestra back to rerecord, etc.

Similar to your constant requests to redo architecture, styles, artwork, etc. You realize that artwork and design is the most time-consuming part of developing content? These are things that were designed many months and even years ago in the pipeline. They're not going to read one person's post a month before release and then decide on a dime to throw out years of work and go back to the drawing board.

I saw no damn reason to change it. Morrowind's theme is one of the most recognized in the franchise and I've never played the game!

Considering that no-one actually had anything to base Crystal Tower on, other than the ancient Arena game, whatever "expectations" you had for the visuals are just created out of thin air, and most likely represent nothing but your own personal projections. If you listened to the last ESO live they actually went into detail about this.

But sure, calling someone a liar simply because they disagree with your personal biases is a very constructive and fruitful way of discussing ... You don't need to give a skeever's arse about anything, just like I don't give another skeever's arse about your personal grievances (=crying and moaning) about Summerset.

Just don't repeat the argumentative fallacy of typing "we", when you actually mean "you".

I have to stick with the composer, here. Speeding up the parts you suggest turns them into more of a march, when the original suggest something foreboding. I’d really like to hear from the composer, what they envisioned for each of the different variations on the theme.

I have to say, I do like the use of the solo English horn. I can’t think of a better musical representation of the High Elves; beautiful, stoic, with a gernerous helping of snooty.
