Amazon sends out customer survey: People are happy that Amazon cares about their customers and value their feedback.
ZOS sends out customer survey: People are outraged that ZOS cares only about money, they don't care about their game or their customers.
Not sure where this double standard comes from.
.....Am I the only one here who is OK with the Crown Store?
As long as they don't put anything in there that gives a true advantage over other players (like, gear with stats), and remains strictly cosmetic/convenience, they can do whatever they like with it as far as I'm concerned.
The Crown Store supports the game, which I am happy with. If you don't like something, don't buy it then--- and if you don't, you're not at a disadvantage, except maybe in your mind. That's the beauty of it.

So yes Zeni, many of us really hate your cash shop, especially the gamble boxes, the shoddy costumes with defects you never fix, the limited time items, the items you can ONLY get in the gamble boxes, and the absolute insanity that inspires your pricing. It's not that I don't WANT to give you money over and above my subscription... it's that I would like to actually be offered the products I and many others have repeatedly asked for and to be able to pay a straight price for them rather than gambling for them... and have that price not be ridiculous. I'd buy a lot MORE if there were things I actually WANTED and I didn't feel like I was being ripped off with every transaction.

Nope you're not, plenty of people buy crowns and crates.....but when asked the vast majority will go on a tirade about it, it's a human nature thing and it's fashionable these days to be perpetually outraged by everything in existence.
I completed this survey the other day, and I agree with the OP that it was basically an exercise in finding out how they could make more money from the Crown Store without upsetting anyone.
Be careful when answering it, as you can't go back to previous pages or cancel and start again.

Some of it seemed rather insidious, letting ZOS marketing department know exactly which buttons to push and which levers and gears to turn to maximize profits even further .
Why on earth is that a problem?
It's no shock that big profit driven companies operate a decent CRM model / targeting pricing strategy. In fact its a core goal and of course will be reflected in any surveying they do
I'm unsure why the surprise. They aren't holistic gatekeepers to a magical land, they are selling games for a profit, inventing lore as a marketing ploy to attract customers. And that's all quite normal...
I wish I got a survey. Maybe ZOS sees us console players as inferior, I dunno.
This makes me wonder if ZOS will actually improve on the Crown Store and make prices more sensible. And maybe add cooler things. As long as people give similar responses to you OP, there is hope.
^^ This. I love my fluff from the crown store don’t get me wrong. I just get a bit disgruntled when I notice things like the (IMO butt ugly) mask I earned for doing Blood root achievements isn’t even as nice as what people got in crates. Or when I loot so many tombs in Vvardenfell that you may as well call me Lara Croft, and not a single purple blueprint to be found......Am I the only one here who is OK with the Crown Store?

I am also ok with the crown store, I love buying new mounts etc, but this is not why people are outraged, its because of the balance between Crown Store additions and Gameplay improvements
Many players are in frustrated with ZOS for not focusing more on the necessary gameplay improvements that the crown store is supposed to be supporting.
There needs to be a complete refocus now that the crown store is fully stocked, we have enough mounts, costumes, dyes, outfits, and furnishings to keep us busy for years.
What we don't have right now is satisfying gameplay...
Didn't mean it as a troll post and I wasn't implying your OP suggested any outrage. There's a difference between trolling and having a discussion. Other people commenting in the thread have expressed some pretty negative feelings about the survey.Carbonised wrote: »Troll post, but hey, I'll bite the bait.
I've been a happy Amazon customer for more than 10 year. Amazon doesn't sell a product, they sell a service. I don't buy stuff created by Amazon, I buy stuff sold through Amazon. And I'm happy with Amazon, they provide me with cheap products, great shipping prices and great customer service the few times things do go wrong. So I'm happy to throw lots of money at them for getting the stuff I want cheap and fast.
ZOS then. First of all, try reading the posts here before making troll comments. No one is actually outraged at the survey. I literally write in my OP that I'm glad they're sending out the survey, and I'll happily answer it.
I do feel it's somewhat cheap to disguise this as a general game feedback survey, when it clearly isn't about the game, but about the shop. The vast majority of questions are about the store, not about the actual product, which is the game.
I'd have been happier if they simply called it a survey on the store itself, at least that would have been honest.
Secondly, I'm not that pleased with the ESO store, as you can tell from my screenshots of my answers. Hence they get a negative response from me, while Amazon would get a very positive one, since I'm very happy with their service.
See the difference?
It's really not that difficult:
Happy customers and great service/product = customers who spend money.
Mad customers and lousy service/product = customers disappear.
The Crown Store is a part of the game. The survey specifically brought up many sore points for players. I have hope that this could mean a revamp of their business model as it relates to the crown store, to better align with what we want to see.MornaBaine wrote: »I think the "outrage" is when people figured out it wasn't a survey about their satisfaction with the game but was actually an in depth probe for ferreting out how to get people to spend more in the cash store. Perhaps 2 separate surveys would have been in order... one asking about satisfaction with gameplay and one dealing with the cash store. Regardless, I am not unhappy with such a survey myself because I HOPE that ZOS will be made to see that their predatory business practices are hurting both their reputation and their sales. I'd honestly be HAPPY to spend much more money than I do in the cash store if....
They would stop with the limited time offers.
If they would stop with the gamble box exclusives.
If they would stop with gamble boxes altogether.
If they would perform proper quality control on the costumes and quit giving us things that dye like garbage.
If they would perform proper quality control on costumes and stop giving us things with "holes" in them, that distort the character body in weird ways, and that don't "move" properly.
If they would make individual prices more reasonable.
If they would actually offer us the things we ASK for rather than a bunch of weird stuff no one ever asked for.
If there were many more items available than there are.

With Amazon, you don't pay for a chance to receive the item you ordered.
I haven't got one yet.
Considering how opinionated I am and how I love to spew such opinions all over these forums I am pretty sure they know how I feel.

Failing to see the point. You're upset that ZOS sent out a survey about the crown store, because you dislike crown crates? I would expect you to be happy that they sent out a survey so that you may express your distaste for crown crates or any other aspect of the crown store that you dislike. Who knows, if enough people feel the same way, maybe things will change.
