As long as they don't put anything in there that gives a true advantage over other players (like, gear with stats), and remains strictly cosmetic/convenience, they can do whatever they like with it as far as I'm concerned.
The Crown Store supports the game, which I am happy with. If you don't like something, don't buy it then--- and if you don't, you're not at a disadvantage, except maybe in your mind. That's the beauty of it.

The crown store may not be "Pay-to-win" in the sense that you can't buy weapons, it DOES sell consumables that can effect combat.
It's also "Pay-to-win" in other aspects of gameplay. Want to be the best crafter? Well, you're going to want the crown-only motifs then. You want the best houses? Well, you're going to to want to buy the really cool houses in the crown store, or the furniture packs in the crown store. Oh, and the good ones? Yeah, they're limited edition. You want some daedric statues? You're gonna need to gamble on crown crates for that.
And the prices of the houses are CRAZY. Who's betting the new Crown Store home they were showing on the Summerset stream is going to be five times the cost of the summerset DLC itself, and only available for one weekend?
I support the game - I subscribe. I probably can afford the new house, because I haven't used my crowns in over a year. But I'm not supporting what I consider to be unethical practices. Unfortunately... that's most of the the things in the crown store...
Is this actually serious? They are literally asking if you want to pay for the stuff or rather get it for free. Insanity.

I personally don't mind the crown store. Was surprised to hear the best items in game are in there though?? Outside of some convenience shortcuts like mount books and inventory everything seems cosmetic? Am I missing something where I can buy powerful weapons/armor I'll need to do end game?
They could just cut the crown store, cut the free2play and make the game purely sub based, as they intended at launch. Sounds like that would please most in this thread?

You cannot buy any actual equipment in the crown store. I think when some people refer to the "best items" in the crown store they may just be referring to cool cosmetic items "best looking" furniture, homes and such.
Its most likely only the people who bought crowns in the last 6 months got them.. thats usually the way of business.. modern scummy business..
