Just don't wear the tabard. I do not see the logic in wanting a tabard slotted and not having it seen. The I wnat my guild on the nameplate is just weird reason.

if it make the actual outfitted armour look bugged then they should fix that.

Or, as an alternative, offer a new item called the "Guild Name Tag". You acquire it and equip it in the same way as a Guild Tabard. It has no visual appearance, but will add a guild's name to your nameplate.

The idea is that it shows on their character nameplate. The tabard incidentally covers up the outfit, which they are no doubt wishing to show instead.

though I disagree with him, in all fairness helmets serve a purpose. And purpose tabards server is negated by hiding them. Aside from the <Guild Tag>.. Which is really all I want. I do'nt understand why it's a problem for dude that people want to represent their guild without an unsightly dress

Totally agree on that. Helmet is a part of your armour, while tabbard is just a cosmetic item. It's like asking for having an option to hide a disguise. I rather they concentrated on making the tabbard appear on top of the armor instead of having this unsightly, brown, undyeable jumper rather than adding an option for people too lazy to hit 'I' on their keyboard and double click an equipment slot. I mean how often do you need to put the tabbard on and take it off? 20 times a minute?

Please think. With it off, guild name does not show where people actually look, your nameplate. Also, the TABARD does not even SAY the guild name on it, nor let you use a custom logo - ours has a Golden Cockerel - Like how does that = Scrub Lords?

We need the name to function, not the pointless, ugly fabric.

No it isn't. Why would you wear a piece of whatever that has some image on it that every other guild can have and in a limited colour that every other guild can have, over having Guild Name in Nameplate that is unique because you cannot use a taken guild name?

Your version is the one that really does not have much point.

Exactly my point. I love to rock my guild <The Chicken> when I'm rolling around cyro solo on my magblade. That way when I get hate tells for using cloak I can just say "you did see my guild right"

Helmets is part of itemization system. Hide helmet is option that allow us to customize to our preference its cosmetic part and it wont hurt main functionality of helmets.
Guild tag is part of guild system personalization. Tabard is strictly cosmetic part of it but yet we cant customize it without hurting guild system. And now it also lead to: cosmetic part of guild system hurting far superior outfit system that made to allow us completely customize chars to our preference.

I don't think you get it. Its guild pride. I have a pvp guild that I've been doing everything for duos to raids with for like 2 years. I'm also in a dueling guild and love to wear my pvp guild tabard to the dueling guild meets. Only problem is my tabard and my outfit soooooooooo don't look good together. Looks like a damn fool tbh.

So then why the heck would you want to have an option to hide it if this is about guild pride?

Of course he does not (or it'd be assuming some kind of dumbness and it'd be offensive lol), the names displaying system is maybe a bit unrecognized still

=> One need to display one's guild allegiance, but will not display the tabard - because its specific colors does not match one's character outfit.

Even roleplay-wise, acknowledging the guild nameplate without any tabard can be explained by some armband, rosette or badge.

    Anyway, as sb said :
The more I think about it, the more I start thinking it would just be easier to add a drop down menu on the character sheet that allows you to select the guild name to show for your character. Just completely separate tabards from your visible guild name. If you choose to wear a tabard, it could simply overwrite this option with the name of the appropriate guild.

While a hide tabard option accomplishes a similar goal, it's a less elegant solution overall.
