Should we be able to "hide guild tabard" with our outfits?

Something similar to how the costumes hide the tabard but in name plates it still shows the guild name.

Edit. I understand there are alot more important things to fix this patch. Just throwing this out there. :)

You will probably sell more outfits if this was a option :)

Like getting the devs to fix the motifs where the chest piece gets turned pitch black when I equip a tabard? That's fixing an old issue that should have been fixed from the beginning, not changing a new one.

Or they could give me the option to hide my tabard or show it while wearing costumes.

Or they could add an option to represent my guild(s) on my nameplate without wearing a tabard.

But i want to rep my guild on my nameplate without looking like an idiot

Well, I would suggest not picking a guild with an idiotic looking tabard, at that point!

    @lordrichter

My PvP guild has a wonderful tabard that I would never be caught dead in because of its restrictive color scheme. It would really be a huge boon to be able to use the tabard and rep the guild without having to conform to its color scheme. Moreover, my gear looks fresh as hell, I don't want to cover it up.

I turn all that off so I can’t relate. I don’t like the 1990’s look to nameplates and bars and such

It's helpful in PvP so you can easily tell who you're about to fight. If you see some guilds you know you can still be messing around a bit, but other guilds you know it's time to put on the Serious Pants. Much like turning hazard effects to a bright pink, I hate the look but love how useful it is. I always turn it off outside of Cyro, though.

That's the perfect description of useful guild nameplates in PVP. Messing around vs. serious pants indeed.

Yeah it's great for pvp. Plus I have a guild called the chicken. All white tabard with a chicken on it. I love to wear it when I solo on my magblade because i find it funny to see my name plate be <The Chicken> when I'm cloaking around cyro but man that tabard is ugly

I just wish you could wear it under or over your outfit. That way, if it looks dumb with your outfit, you can still have that appear on your nameplate.

Just to clarify some of the problems I have with certain motifs, I popped in game and use the outfit system with my tabard equipped.

Problem #1: Tabards remove any front or back flaps on the armor. Obviously that makes sense for clipping, but its still different from how the armor actually looks.

Problem #2: The following motifs that I own (and I'm certain there are others that I don't own) are seriously broken. When I equipped then with a tabard, the chest piece on the torso turns pitch black. The armor choice is visible on the armors, but the chest piece is completely replaced with a black body mesh on the torso. This also applies to dropped or crafted armors in these styles. I tested with heavy armor primarily.

My current list of affected armor styles:
    Abah's Watch
    Apostle
    Ashlander
    Bloodforge
    Dreadhorn
    Ebonshadow
    Ebony
    Hollowjack
    Militant Ordinator
    Ra Gada
    Skinchanger
    Telvanni
    Trinimac

That's an awful lot of motifs that have the chestpiece turn pitch black when viewed with a guild tabard equipped and I don't have all the motifs to check so there are certainly more.

These motifs should be fixed whether or not ZOS allows us to hide the guild tabard, but if they aren't going to fix the motifs, I want to hide the guild tabard so I can have the appearance I chose, not a pitch black body mesh on my torso.
