As I have many costumes, I never had problems to hide a tabard while letting the guild-tag display.
Now it's a shame we have to chose between -no tabard then no guild tag displaying -or guild tag displaying but outfit chest piece being hidden in the process...
(One may argue that, for the sake of roleplay, the guild emblem have to be shown, for anyone to be able to know the allegiance. But from the same roleplay perspective, I'd reply that an armband or a badge will indicate the allegiance the same way.)
So please, can we get added a "tabard slot" in the new outfit system ?
Let me suggest an ever-better option !
A tabard slot that can be cutomized !
This would cost the same (1000 or 2000 gold) and allow to fit the tabard with the character's theme. It would be usefull to roleplay sub-guild factions (since the "Units" system I proposed some time ago is not going to happen...)

I wrote this numerous times: if you have problems with showing your tabard, then DO NOT WEAR IT!
It was designed for showing your enthusiasm in your guild. If you want others know your faithfulness, show them your tabard, else put it in your backpack and move along.
Really....
Really good idea, I have to admit!redspecter23 wrote: »The more I think about it, the more I start thinking it would just be easier to add a drop down menu on the character sheet that allows you to select the guild name to show for your character. Just completely separate tabards from your visible guild name. If you choose to wear a tabard, it could simply overwrite this option with the name of the appropriate guild.
While a hide tabard option accomplishes a similar goal, it's a less elegant solution overall.

Shhhh! JEEZ! People want to show their enthusiasm in their nameplate - where EVERYONE LOOKS!
More options = Good.
I never even SEE tabards unless I am at a guild trader, but I readily see peoples' guild names in their nameplate.
Stop being purposefully obtuse for no actual reason.
It's apparent that no one likes your option. So stick that in your backpack and mosey along.

Then just remove the whole tabard system, and replace it with customizable nameplates. Wouldn't it be better? Really...
Ajaxandriel wrote: »I find your lack of understanding disturbing, @SirCritical
The enthusiasm and pride is meant to be weared by the guild tag, that is why I took the time to explain how one can show this enthusiasm using badge, armband or rosette... And I'm speaking as a guild GM that is free to modify the guild tabard motif as I want.
The matter here is the cosmetic fitting between the common tabard and each particular character with its own color theme and the need to display nice chest armor piece.Really good idea, I have to admit!redspecter23 wrote: »The more I think about it, the more I start thinking it would just be easier to add a drop down menu on the character sheet that allows you to select the guild name to show for your character.
