Australian Latency Numbers

I want to try and get a gauge of how Australian ISP's stack up for playing ESO, obviously they're not all equals and it could be quite valuable to know which ones are likely to give the better results. Probably need to include Company, Server, Location, Connection speed and latency.

Mine are

90mb/s FTTP NBN
300 - 450ms with no vpn, 260 - 300 with express vpn active.

hmm look at those internet speeds ooooh yeah... although it is rather strange my ping is better than yours.

Latency: 270-330ms (no vpn)

At work:
ISP: TPG
Server: PC|NA
Location: Sydney
Speed: 500mb/s NBN
Latency: 250-280ms (no vpn)

I switched from optus adsl, used to get 3mbps (lol) and my ping was 350ms+ ON A GOOD DAY

Got average of 12down/1.5up
Eso
Pc/NA (old number currently on ps4 now)
Eso was 300-500ms in different style of game play from solo through to pvo

on the other hand was 130-200ms which in a large wvw fight, still felt very competitive and responsive.

Isp is the same in both
Servers are in somewhat the same location (half way around world.)

No idea what my ping is but I'd say it's like 280-300 range?

This will change when NBN rolls out in a few months and I'm stuck on like 30mb/s with occasional spikes down to 1mb/s, causing me to drop out of cyrodill and disconnect.

How do I know this? Friend has got NBN, lives Sydney, and can no longer play in cyrodill consistently because of NBN lag spikes despite being on the top optus internet package.

thats nothing to do with nbn, its optus.

Private Internet Access (VPN) decreases ping but packet loss seems go way up (teleporting and stuff) so play with it off.

On a side note. If I was to switch to NBN (forced too soon) on the same $ per month plan, I'd actually lose 0.8Mb/s download speed because they cap the NBN plan speed.

For what it is worth, I am in New Zealand and tend to get between 240ms and 280ms on average.

Some days the connection decides to shoot itself in the foot and bounce up over 300.

Northern NSW near Lismore

Telstra DSL, about 300-400 ms. I actually have an Express VPN sub, didn't know it'd improve pings with ESO. Will try it post patch.

Cyrodil is like...oh a good player ...dead. I got through all stam classes on vma but it can be miserable in there. I just do stam dk now for leaderboards. Trials....I dont like to be a burden so don't do so many of them no more.

We've had these issues with online games for decades. How do we cope? We've grown to just deal with it. No matter how fast the connection is or how much they improve the server, the issue lies with the geography.
