@Rohamad_Ali Until you've tanked all the vet trial hardmodes, you have no qualification to make such a pronouncement.

They wouldn't need a hard mode if I said was untrue . Hard mode is just a time sink on the same material . Do you believe hard mode will be impossible under these changes ? I'm willing to bet you see a TC Hodor first thread any day now .

I doubt that, as Hodor and obviously also Chimaera stopped raiding progression-oriented as far as I know

Hard mode is hard because it's supposed to be . The question then lies have the changes made this impossible to complete . If someone completes it before live then it's a safe bet to say no , it's not . It is not I that needs to demonstrate anything but the players to the Devs to make changes . We demonstrated the adverse effects of a tanking meta in PVP . Devs made changes with PVP and PVE in mind . Now it is up PVE tanks to show the Devs they went too far . If anyone completes that new material for a world first , good luck lol .

My current Plague Doctor(or Ebon)/Torag's Pact build is extremely resource friendly. I can tank the axes without support from a healer.

What I can see happening is stacking less in health (hitting maybe 32K) and dropping Plague Doctor/Ebon for a stamina heavy set like Hulking Draugr. Running Jewelry and weapons to keep 7 heavy on the body. And running potion cooldown enchantments to hit tri-pots more often.

They want to please a PVP playerbase who the majority of content isn't produced for.

ADD THE COST INCREASE TO BATTLE SPIRIT. STOP SCREWING THE REST OF US.

Typing everything with caps doesn't change the fact that this was just as much about PvE as PvP. ZOS has noticed that tanks spend 10 % of their time tanking and 90 % of their time aiding group dps, putting buffs on raid group, putting debuffs on the boss. And they concluded that the actual tanking must be too trivial if a tank can spend his majority of time and ressources to boost group DPS. And they are right. It's a nice change that tanks actually have to worry more about tanking and less about being a group buff bot. It's not about PvP.

Careful what you wish for. If the intent of this change is to make tanks focus on tanking only, no group utility...then the same could be said for healers. Maybe they should worry more about healing and less about being a group utility buff bot.

I’ve been thinking about this. Really only for DK tanks as the rest aren’t applicable if they don’t have a magic to Stam converter built in.

Mages guild was good to have leveled up before for equilibrium; now it’s going to become a requirement like warhorn.

    @ZOS_Wrobel

Changes are ok i guess, had no probs till now, will see how they play out.

But, if u only want to keep warden & DK as capable Tanks, tell us pls and give me a racechangetoken ^^

Honestly you should reconsider the ways and values how classes get ressources back when specced as tank.
Give more supportskills to non meta tanks, that are only usefull/useable in tank role.

    thx

class change token - not tanked for nearly a year now on my NB. Missing it, will carry on mooching around and fingers crossed there are class changes at some point, or will go play tank elsewhere :( It's really tough, not relaxing like a game should be. Nor is stamblade dps either for that matter. I've never known a game change so much or so often :(

Although I don't necessarily disagree with these changes, I can only see the current tank pool getting more diluted. They are not going to make people want to play tanks, quite the opposite.

Just feels like ZoS don't want tanks in the game :(

Those who think that the nerf was for PVP tanks are really ignorant. No tank who knows what he is doing will run block cost enchants in PVP. Sure you can block all attacks but will die like a b***h.

This change was a targeted nerf on PVE tanks who are the primary users of block cost enchants. I have tanked all PVE content barring vAS. I can tell you permablocking is the most boring but most efficient strat available for new and semi-skilled tanks in this game. ZOS is forcing PVE tanks to heavy attack.

Every top tier tank already does this and now ZOS wants that to be the norm. Essentially making tanking a more skill intensive role rather than a brain dead "hold one button and pop synergies" role. It is no where near perfect but it is a great start and needs more fine tuning.

Again this change is a buff to PVP tanks and a nerf to PVE tanks. Stop blaming PVP for every nerf that ZOS decides to do. I'm sure most of the gripe here is from tanks who are lazy and refuse to adapt to an evolving game.
I play how I want to.

    Uh, what?

Every HM besides vHoF introduces new mechanics that the tanks have to deal with. And every HM increases damage output.

Oh for christ's sake if the issue is PVP then just fix it on PVP. Or bare minimum give a buff to tanks in trials that changes it back to what it is before this update. The min you walk into a trial, you get that buff if you are tank role. Or you get it from one hand skill you have slotted. It's not rocket science. Just stop messing end game content for end game players in PVE where nobody is concerned about too much blocking because we need blocking. Trials with hefty block cost will be a nightmare. There are already too few tanks and most of them like to get coffers too so they don't want to have to always tank which means less and less tanks as people find it tedious.

I agree these are straight nerfs and we keep getting tank nerfs because of PvP which is ridiculous but these nerfs aren't the end of the world, I kinda like these ones as it's going to make tanking a little harder.

And the problem is that elite players such as yourself can easily overcome such obstacles. For the rest of us, it’s not so easy. We have a hard enough time keeping good tanks in our guild that actually want to play that role. I don’t see how these changes will improve our chances.

    lol wut?

I mean, maybe non-DK tanks aren't "welcome" for guilds trying to put up world #1 scores or world's first clears, but there are plenty of non-DK tanks running vet Trials.

Calling it now. The new meta will be no block builds. Or minimal block builds. God mode self heals, uber high health. God like resistances.

Plays straight to wardens. They are built for this. They can get away with a lot. DK too but I think warden with very fast heal ult regen can prob outlast it.

Also there goes smart playing. Smart blocking. Just don't bother except for the really big hits.

Heavy attacking with 3 active axes is no problem, anything above should make you question what your dd's are doing.

Actually, I guess there wont be a significant gear-change for vet-trial tanks. For dungeon-tanking this is a different storry though, due to the number of trashpacks a tank has to deal with

@GreatGildersleeve This and unless you are having 5+ axes you can do it if you watch out for the Axe Heavy Attack timing. The regular Axe attacks hit like noodles on a tank. The heavy attack is the one which stuns you and does a lot of damage.

If you have the skill to do it solo go for it. If you don't, split the axes between 2 tanks.

What kind are rock are you playing under? The first vAS HM no death speed run had a templar tank. Even top teams employ non DK tanks when the strat calls for it. It is not the best option but certainly not a bad option.

I find these post funny I have to play a support tank made by players that the devs gave the tools to make so its the devs fault. The thing is its not the devs fault for the meta or strategy to face these fights its the community itself that is to blame for these ideas that you have to tank this way. The strategy for axes in HA have always been to block in many peoples eyes but truth is get your damn DD's off the boss and kill the Axe is much easier to do then waste your time blocking them all.

As for Rakkhat you only need to low slash him and block when he does his major attack for most other attacks besides a few you can you use a damage shield to midigate that damage its not hard you all are just so mindset that the only way to do it is the one best used in a video you seen and every one jumped on it like you had no other choice.

Many here have not played anything out side what they seen and or tried other tactics to beat the content because someone else showed them how. These changes are needed more then ever to stop a very bad system from become main stream in a game like ESO which offers a lot of different options in play and not just DPS but tanking as well you all are just locked into the idea you where trained to understand.

I really do not like these changes, they will just push people more to dk/warden argonian tanks while other classes/races will have it harder and harder with each patch. This will be especial hard on newer tanks since an exp tank could maybe deal with it but if you think about newer player they will either getting rekt or just give up.
