How do I simply hide helmet?

I currently hide/unhide my helm for RP reasons (possible with a button press using an addon).

The option is no longer in gameplay menu.

This option still needs to be available outside of the outfit system, I should not have to use an outfit slot to hide or unhide my helm! And should not have to spend gold setting up an outfit simply to hide whatever fugly headgear I happen to have picked up.

I think crafters deserve some love. I would love to see outfit costumes made by crafters to be tradeable.

Yes, once I found the drop down for the style slot. There should be some indicator stating you need to pick a slot before the customization can be done.

The station was easy to find, there seems to be some ui bug messages when accessing it. (My addons were off.)

I actual like it. I have thing about maces and now I can rock those soul shriven maces in black 24/7.

    I used gold.

It would be nice to have the monster sets added if the player has collected the item or defeated the associated npc.

Edit: I did some playing around once I finally got in the PTS and it appears you can use altered / dyed weapon outfits WITH costumes. I'm a very happy camper.

1500 vouchers for an Outfit Station is pretty excessive. Yes, I understand that the 35-voucher Dye Stations have the exact same functionality and that the Outfit Station is just a different cosmetic skin. Which, IMHO, makes the 1500-voucher price even more ridiculous. I understand charging a premium for a better-looking station. But over 42x as much seems a bit egregious; 350 vouchers--a 10x premium--would be far more reasonable.

Either the "Hide Helmet" option is broken (unusable from collectibles menu) or I'd have to ask for reconsideration to get it back to gameplay menu. It can't that I can only hide helmet from outfit menu and now lack ability to hide helmet on costume (since costumes override outfits).

The Outfit UI was easy enough to understand.

Had no trouble finding an Outfit station or accessing it.

I found the Outfit station very fun because I could look over all the motifs I had and make a beautiful costume with all the pieces, including the tiered portions for some weapons and armor.

    I used gold.

General feedback: Would it be possible to add a "Hide shoulder/belt/glove" option to the Outfit system? I thought that if I used the "Clear Slot" option, it would hide those pieces from view, but it does not. Also WORM CULT MOTIF OMG FINALLY Y'ALL ARE WONDERFUL <3 Please don't make it extremely rare to obtain or so easy that everyone'll have fifty copies after the Anniversary event is over.

This^ Being able to hide pieces other than helmet would be great.

Just took the system for a spin, and really enjoyed using it. Seems intuitive and easy to use, with great customization options. Only two things I didn't like, both minor:

First, dyes now cost gold to use, where they didn't before. It's not a substantial cost, but it is a change I'm not thrilled with, as I often experiment with dyes a bit, finding it necessary to view them in different lightning conditions than are possible at any given dye station before I'm sure they work.

Second, the sheer number of style collectables really warrants a search option. It's not too bad, since they're alphabetically sorted, but still. Honestly, there need to be a lot more searchable categories in game, though, and this is one of the ones that needs it least badly (compared to the bank, or selected style items when crafting).

It's better than I ever dreamed it would be, I wasn't expecting weapon dyeing or being able to use a different armor weight for your outfit so those are some very happy surprises.

I do second the idea of a search option, or maybe the ability to mark certain motifs as Favorite in order to find them easier.

@MacMurroughTheFirst read the patch notes. Current dye stations will be upgraded to have outfit functionality, but will still look like the old dye stations.

@ZOS_GinaBruno , will the Outfit system now be the only way to hide helmet, or is the missing option part of hide helmet currently being "broken"?

there is currently a Hide Your Helm option now under Appearance->Hats in Collectibles but it's unusable at the moment, so it's hard to say how it'll actually function. To me it seems like you'll just use that to hide your helmet now instead of doing it through the settings menu.

Was the system easy to understand?
Aside from the initial confusion I had figuring out that i first had to select from a drop down, the process was straightforward. Click on items' icons to get to the section for their selection, click on what I want, repeat until satisfied.
Did you have any trouble finding an Outfit Station or accessing it?
No, I frequented dye stations so I knew where to go.
Did you find the Outfit System to be fun?
"Fun" might not be the right word. It was interesting, and I appreciated the amount of variety I could achieve.
Did you use gold or Outfit Tokens to change your Outfits?
Gold. I don't believe there will be a real need for tokens for most people. The difference of gold cost to token cost dissuades use of the tokens.
Do you have any other general feedback?
First, thank you for the weapon dyeing! The ruby red will not be missed! And I for one will welcome the feared pinkapocalypse with open arms.

That said, being forced to pay just to dye an outfit feels very bad. Perhaps attach outfit dyeing to ESO+ like with costumes, or just make it free completely. There's no rhyme or reason to suddenly attaching a gold price exclusively to the dye function. If it's a matter of being attached to the outfit system, perhaps consider moving the functionality directly into the dye tab where gear and costumes are already located.

One feature I'd like to see in the future is the ability to group or exclude certain styles when customizing an outfit. For example I didn't want to use any of the racial styles, but I didn't want to limit myself to just looking at one special style at a time, so I still had to sift through all the styles I didn't want. Options to exclude certain styles would be nice since we can already choose certain styles.

I'd also appreciate the ability to have no visible armor in a slot. For example, many people want to run around shirtless, currently this isn't possible without literally removing their chest armor. There seems to be an area for that function up with all the squares beside the Clear Slot option, so I'm hoping it's already planned.

My final request is to please, PLEASE put Hide Helm back where it was before, as a feature independent of the outfit system. There's no need for them to be combined. It just causes a hassle.

Transmoged Chests DO NOT hide tabards.

    1. Tabard is important feature of guild system that benefit personalization. Yet in current form you must not wear tabard to see armor, i.e. you transmog system contradict guild system. That's terrible, they should synergize.
    2. Main reason for many people to wear costume is to hide tabard. And for now even with transmog they still will be forced to do it.
    3. Another bunch of people already use craftable setups in needed style, so they won't benefit much from transmog. And since I one of those, point 2 is viable for me too - I have to wear costume because my perfectly-looking armor is hided by tabard, and thus won't get any usefulness from new fashion system.
    4. What the reason to make chest in perfect style if it will be hided by tabard anyway?!

@ZOS_GinaBruno make transmoged chests to hide tabard, or grant us option to hide it. Current functionality is flaw.

As you can see on screen below. Full glass transmoged armor, yet most important part of it is invisible:

Was the system easy to understand?
In general, yes, it was easy to understand.

Did you have any trouble finding an Outfit Station or accessing it?
No. I placed one in a home (in the crown furnishings tab the station is still called a Dye Station, btw.) and tried another one in Windhelm. Both worked fine.

Did you find the Outfit System to be fun?
I will probably spend a lot of time finding the right outfits for my characters, when this goes live.

Did you use gold or Outfit Tokens to change your Outfits?
    Only gold.

Do you have any other general feedback?
It's really nice that costumes don't undo/hide weapon style changes!

And some problems and or things I didn't like:
    • The Imperial and Morag Tong style converters still have to be used from the inventory. These styles are not automatically added to the collections, yet. But if you have them and also know the style, using these two styles for outfits costs the intended 0 gold.
    • The hide helmet collectible is not collected (and thus not usable) and doesn't state where you can unlock it, so I assume it should be unlocked automatically.
    • Return the hide helmet option in the settings menu!!! Removing it was a really bad idea. As of now you can't hide head gear of costumes or disguises anymore (which for me means, I won't use a lot of costumes anymore, which I otherwise like, because I mostly dislike head gear in general, with the exception of hoods), and for people like me, who like to toggle the hide helmet option based on what we are currently doing in game, having to visit an outfit station for that is more than inconvenient and will get really expensive. Please leave this as it was before!
    • Instead of the hide helmet collectible, add hiding colletibles for other armour pieces.
    • I don't understand why we have to pay gold or use an outfit change token just to recolour an outfit. I'm fine with a price for actually changing the style but not for the colour. For me it is also highly cryptic how the price for a certain colour is determined. It doesn't seem to be the colour rarity. In my opinion it would also make sense (at least for the outfits) to just take on the colour you put on your actual armour, instead of having a static colour.
    • As mentioned before, a text filter on an outfit station would be greatly appreciated (additionally to the ones that are already there) I just saw that there IS the option to filter by text, even for style names! Very nice :)
    • When previewing outfit pieces from the Collections Menu, I find the colour channels on the left side unnecessary, since you can't change the colours from there.

Are there any plans to be able to incorporate items with no associated motif into our outfit repertoire? I have an item called Volar's Crescent Staff that I've been holding on to for years waiting for a transmog system, but because there's no motif tied to it (the system lists it as daedric and the thumbnail is imperial but the staff is neither of those things), I can't use it in an outfit, which is a little disappointing. I know there are only a handful of these "unique" items (Encasement of Anguish being another one) so this is probably not a priority but man..I'd love to be able to use this staff! It has garbage stats so I'd gladly go for some kind of consume option that eats the staff but adds it to my weapon styles.

Charging simply to use dyes is a massive step backwards.

Due to the fact I can dye my gear for free right now, dyeing should remain free of charge.

Enjoying playing with outfit system. Great step forward.

The hide helmet thing not working is a problem but I gather that is being fixed.

We do still need a way to remove a helmet entirely including on costumes. My toons currently have hide helmet from the gameplay settings menu on constantly.

It would be great to be able to hide the other pieces also i.e. look like you are not wearing shoulders or gloves etc.

I currently often wear the simple disguises or clothing to make my toon "blend in" with the normal npcs. Being able to hide pieces would give more options and help with these more subtle roleplay looks.

    Thanks

    Yes it was.

Did you have any trouble finding an Outfit Station or accessing it?
None at all but I have been playing a while and know where previously named Dye Stations were. Might be a bit tricky for newcomers but I guess that's all part of the exploration.

Did you find the Outfit System to be fun?
Very much so. I'd go as far as to say it exceeded what I hoped it would be except the new "hide helmet" feature. I believe we should still be able to toggle the helmet on/off via Settings menu.

Did you use gold or Outfit Tokens to change your Outfits?
Gold. But it's good to have both options available.

Do you have any other general feedback?
Yes, the hide helmet function should definitely stay as it is - as in togglable via the Setting/Gameplay Setting menu. The option to hide helmet with Outfit Station is not convinient at all. Example: I do not wish to go to an Outfit Station if I decide to wear a certain costume but would like to hide the helmet.

    1) Yes
    2) No trouble
    3) Fun? More that I found it useful for the purpose.
    4) Gold

    General feedback

We should not have to pay anything to create our first outfit from our current gear, with no changes.

Even without the above, we should be able to "Import" the currently equipped gear into the current Outfit gear slot, including current dyes. This could be done per item, or for the entire equipped ensemble, but I recommend per item.

I recommend removing "Randomize Styles" from the Outfit editor. It was cute with the dye system, but now everything it suggests costs.

    Colored weapons are very nice.

As I have several issues with Hide Helmet, I will check back after fixes are rolled out to see what Issues remain. Among them, Hide Helmet needs to work with costumes. Edit: Ideally, Hide Helmet would return to the Settings menu where it is now.

It should not cost any gold to use dyes on an outfit. This is just adding an insult, really. There is a gold cost to using the style. That should be enough.

Tabards in general need to be rethought, but in the meantime it would be nice if they were visually hide-able. They just take up too much real estate, especially now that we'll be able to create some really customizable looks. Just from the waist down would be better, since that part doesn't really completely cover the legs.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but apparently I haven't collected the Hide Helmet option and I can't see any way to get it. If I drag it into position on the outfit menu, or right click to apply it then the option to Apply Changes is greyed out so I can't apply it, or any other changes I make with the helmet hidden.

This is especially frustrating because the Hide Helmet option appears to have been removed from the options menu.

Speaking as someone who turns that on every single time I make a new character and very-rarely turns it off this feels like a huge down-grade to me. Having to go to an outfit station to do something I can currently do the moment I enter the game (and can change at any point) is annoying but I could live with it. Having to unlock permission to use that option is extremely frustrating.
