Next time you think about "ZoS insanity" think about how such companies make _such_ decissions... they gather in a meeting room and discuss logic before implementing something that new. The need of transmute crystals was very high since Orsinium DLC and first vMA clear...

Supply and demand logic tells you that you can't offer cheap transmute crystals as supply is low and demand is high = very high cost (in terms of game time).

Same thing when level caps was increased from v14 to v16 and people started to rework v16 looted gear and get 1 mat... the grind was real and in couple of patches first in Orsinium and then in couple of patches - everywhere, players started to see cp160 materials "growing".

Same complaint as when Master Writs came out. "Ah! The drop rate of Master Writs and housing craft materials is too low!"

People want to do everything immediately when a new system comes out, even though its been expressly designed as a long-term goal type system.

It may just be me but I assumed it was implemented as a back up. To save me running content 100 times and still failing to get the right trait.

I don't think the idea was ever 'run a dungeon twice, get gear, retrait everything'.

I've been using a poor trait monster shoulder since last year (despite spending 100s of keys), now I can fix that.
That is the purpose of the transmute system.

This is why I saved a lot of completed pledges on various characters for patch day. It brought me about halfway to 50 transmutation crystals. I was expecting it to be slow lol.

You thought it'd be that easy? That there would be a 10 minute solution - i.e. transmute stones, to negate the need for hundreds of runs through VMA?

Be happy they are not selling crystal packages for Crowns like in other games. Some gears are easier to farm than farm the crystal itself and that is completely ok. Transmutation is not something which meant to be replace farming. You still farm but also gather crystals along the way and at the end you are able to change couple of your rubbish traits. To be honest it's a brilliant system and the best solution to reduce the farm time and the RNG headache won't make you aggressive. [Snip]

I don't think I'll ever use transmute crystals on anything other than monster shoulders or arena weapons. Imo, working as intended.

You don't need to grind these. Just doing what you normally do in game will easily get you 50 crystals/week or more. I know some people who are already maxed out, and the patch has only been out for one day. Retraiting gear is not supposed to be something you are supposed to do often. It's like resetting skills- doing it every once in a while is fine. But if you are resetting your skills every day, there's something wrong.

It takes 15minutes of pvp everyday day with every char to get an avearge of 10 crystals each.

Well, twelve vet dungeons down, two pledges per alt across six charecters... lmao... aaaaaannnnnnndddddd... zip... denada... nought... the square route of naff all

The transmutation system is exactly what I needed. I am not too keen on running some vet dungeons like Bloodroot to get BiS traits on monster helms. With transmutation I only needed to run that dungeon once to get the helm and then just do far easier content to build up crystals to transmute it to a better trait.
