I don't know why so many people are whining about the system or the drop rate. I think this is great for the game and I cant wait for it to drop on consoles. Ill actually be interested in running dungeons and daily pledges again.

But as always nothing is good enough for this or any other player base... Still not sure why I come here?!?!

Was at least mildly excited for new transmutation system. I don't need it, with most of my traits in wood and cloth long since unlocked, but it would save some farming of gold and legendary materials if I want to change sets.

Read the FAQ and found out the crystals only drop from group based content. Not so exciting for this mostly-solo player.

It would be nice to have them available (even if in much less quantity than by other means) through activities that can be completed individually or with a friend/partner. I don't really mind if that never happens, since I enjoy playing ESO regardless; it's just something for ZOS to consider in the future perhaps.

as a crafter you wont need any transmute materials anyway.. they are of no benefit to you whatsoever, so you are not missing anything.

Outside of perfect trial setups I completely agree. Jualianos, Hundings, etc are so flexible re-crafting is a breeze. Re-traiting has its place, but I think mostly for highly competitive players...and the occasional monster set.

YES -- the drop rate is crap

The purple crystal boxes should never never drop just one crystal. If you spend two hours teaching a bunch of scrubs the mechanics of Bloodroot Forge, then you deserve more than one crystal.

It's absolutely asinine for it to randomly grant between one and ten. As someone said before, it should be 4-7 crystals in a purple box. Just because you CAN make something random doesn't entail that it'll add flavor to the game.

Developers, stop trying to impress yourselves with your ability to make everything attached to RNG. Losing a fight to poorly-implemented RNG is one thing, but using RNG to skimp rewards? That's not just unnecessary, it's a troll.

Be brutally honest about this game: most people quit because it's friggin TEDIOUS. Why add MORE? Idiots.

I have gotten a ton on lowbie PVP, so much so that I thought maybe they dropped too much. Every Rewards of the Worthy I get one crystal box, to open which then gives me x amount of crystal things. So take one Keep with 3 resources that is 4. It is fast, and usually with a nice sized group so painless...and also the AP adds up and I can buy things to sell:)

Seems I only get 1 a day from PvP rewards. You might not want to shout how many you are getting from PvP rewards.

ahh yes, I didn't get nearly as many today. Perhaps it had something to do with the first day and the campaigns being reset.

take out the limit!! increase the damn drop rate!!

The only reason you even made this is because you idiots are completely incompetent when it comes to coding rng or anything else in this game. People have been leaving the game over it so you had to do something. increase the damn drop rate and get rid of the limit you can have before more leave! I am sick of the idiot devs in charge of this game. i see the potential in the game itself if you'd all fall on your sword and GTFO out and allow management to hire better people the game would be better off!

My only complaint is Mimi transmute table has some ugly lights on it.

Got 50 Stones today. I suggest you guys just join a pve guild. Do some normal trial farm. They give 5. I got 10 from doing pledges. 5 from playing in imperial city for an hour.1 for doing vCOS HM. 1 for each random.

This, looks like PvP is the best way to farm them, just joining an zerg and its easy to get 20K AP.
However PvP has to wait until after the event.

Doing normal trials is by far the best/fastest way. You get a weekly coffer with 5 crystals for each trial you complete. Doing all normal trials will give you 30 crystals/week on 1 character. Now do this on multiple characters and you´ll have enough crystals to retrait very fast.

What do you mean by "by far"? It takes 15 minutes to complete normal trial on average to get 5 crystals and it's weekly, not daily. In PVP you have to spend like 5 minutes daily per character to get guaranteed 4 and a chance to get 25. I actually averaged at 10+ (mostly getting 5 with occasional 10 or even 20). And at the end of 7 day campaign you'll get 10 additional crystals per character. In two hours you can do it on all your characters, getting guaranteed 50+ and a chance to even cap the allowed amount. So for pure crystal grinding purposes a quick PVP raid is better.

True, with trials you'll also get gear/weapons/motifs, so it wins as a general method to grind (you might actually finally get the proper trait drop you were collecting crystals to transmute into).

It´s weekly/character not per account.

I didn't realize geodes dropped in rewards for the worthy until I got one when I was doing PVP on a new alt yesterday. And I basically took part in one keep siege and spent most of that time lying dead on the floor waiting for a guildmate to rez me.

And it dropped 25 crystals. I honestly thought it would be a bigger grind to get those.

Disclaimer: Yes I know my experience is not the same as everyone's. But my RNG usually sucks, so it was a pleasant surprise.

If you have at least two characters, go form a normal trial group, do the five different normal trials of them with each character, doable in 2 hours with a fixed group, rewards 50 crystals in that time, 5 per weekly coffer. I already retraited three items in three days this way.

Everyone who complains that this system is too much effort is an idiot.

Just play the game as you used to, you'll get there eventually.

That is weird. For vet pledges you are guaranteed to get a geode with at least 1 on there, mostly two or three.

You sir (or madam), have no idea what you're talking about. This system is awesome as it is, drop rates are fine.

Every player can join a normal trial group and get a retrait per day basically.

IMHO, It isn't supposed to totally replace the grind. It is just supposed to ease the burden. For example, If I want a set of dragon in a certain trait I'm probably gonna go farm it or buy it cause it's pretty common (no need to waste crystals) However last night I FINALLY got my Alkosh 1h and shield (in the same run no less) and I need to re-trait the 1h. THAT is a drop worth re-traiting. And how often do we get those kind of drops? I agree with the sentiment that you should always have enough crystals just by doing what you normally do for when that big drop comes.

I think it's a great solid guarantee of getting the trait you need with time put in, verses grinding dungeons hoping for the perfect drop. I'd rather know that I will certainly be able to get the trait I need in time.

I got say twice out of 15 dungeons or final boss in hard mode
