bought the observatory again - after the pts update, but when i went to the lower level, i couldn't take more than one step away from the lift. i could move laterally, but not forward into the rooms and there was a weird camera shift once i stepped off the elevator.

    anyone else having this problem?

[*] Drop rate of furniture recipes:
This is my main point of concern. I'm the person who maintains the AddOn FurnitureCatalogue, so I consider myself somewhat well-informed as far as furniture sources are concerned.
Since a week after Morrowind release, I have four characters in Dreloth Ancestor Tomb and loot all urns at least once a day. The total number of purple-quality recipes I have gotten is seven - two Bosmer recipes I already knew, one Argonian recipe I already knew, two Khajiit recipes I already knew, a Telvanni table runner and an Indoril banner.
I have no reason to believe that the drop rates for Clockwork City will be any better, and that flat-out turns any anticipation I might have towards the AddOn into instant anxiety (just add water).
Again, I love ESO very much and spend a lot of time (and quite some money - my husband would say too much of both) on it. But at this point I am extremely frustrated that it's so little rewarding.
On EU, every purple Vvardenfell recipe starts at at least 300k - blues hardly sell for under 50k even three months after release. I would love to furnish my house fully Vvardenfell style and I love crafting and collecting, but the only way to do that right now is to either sell my kidneys for crowns or buy gold on eBay.
Please give those drop chances a serious boost. One way would be to completely remove all furniture blueprints that weren't introduced with the add-on from the loot tables of the corresponding area - but whatever you do, please do something!

exactly my opinion. I collected all 14 Buoyant Armiger motif pages but only 3 purple Vvvardenfell recipes. The drop rates are just ridiculous, and the prices are the cause of that. Another way making them more accessible would be to make them obtainable through masterwrit vouchers in any way.

Thanks for all the feedback so far, everyone! Regarding the issue with the lights turning off and it snowing inside, we're working on getting those fixed for you.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno
Just curious, will the Observatory be sold for gold or crowns?
Need to know if I should stock up or not.

Yesterday someone offered me the recipe for the blue Redoran Jazbay jar for a meager 465k.

Same here, it seems like an invisible wall was dropped right in front of the elevator and we can't past it. Even when moving the lights and trying to move against the wall, you can't get past the invisible wall.

@ZOS_GinaBruno any news on when this is going to be fixed?

What did you think of the two new homes, the Orbservatory Prior and Pariah’s Pinnacle?

Orbservatory Prior: When going into the house it gives a really nice impression, but at the same time it feels so small for a notable home. The outside space is impressive, but no real option for gardening with trees and plants.
The rooms inside are very small while from outside one would expect more rooms and of bigger proportions with maybe some outside space on the front bit like a balcony. I would be really dissappointed if this would be crown only, since it is the house everyone asked for from the beginning of the game.

Pariah's Pinnacle: It looks more like a ruins place then a house. The usuable space for furniture like bedrooms et cetera isnt really there. I see this more like a guild place to gather just like the cave.

Was the new quest to obtain your first home clear and enjoyable?
It was clear because u literally get popped next to it, making it hard to miss. The quest itself was nice and not hard at all.
Just a nice introduction towards the new area.

Small and medium sized homes no longer have achievement requirements to purchase them. Does this make it more appealing to purchase?
It doesnt make it more appealing to me, since i go for all achievements. But for ppl with less time to play or very new to the game it is definately a bonus to make it available for all.

Did you look through the new furnishings in the Housing Editor? What did you think of them?
Im very much in love with the new dwarven clockwork furniture, everything that i was missing i found here. All i hope is that they wont be as hard to find as all of the plans in morrowind. The dropchances there are rediculous.

Do you have any other general feedback?
    No.

Why is Bust, Saint Olms the Just: This Furnishing the quality of a 4 man dungeon vs a trial bust?

It does not have it's own pedestal like every other trial and arena has.

Was the new quest to obtain your first home clear and enjoyable?
I liked the old quest. Yes, it became tedious when I did it again on different characters and different accounts, but it was fun, flavorful, and it made sense. The new quest is literally "listen to dialog, get a house". Yes, it's very clear. But I'm not sure I'd call a "quest" like that "enjoyable".
    • The one thing I did not like about the old quest was that it sent you off to a remote delve in another zone. Not only will new players most likely have never visited that zone yet, but the delves were often ones that were quite far from the player's initial entry point in that zone. So eliminating that is nice (though I wouldn't have minded if it was a delve in the starter zone, near the starter city where you're getting the house).
    • So I'm getting paid (via quest reward gold) to takes a free home just because as a character fresh out of the tutorial, I am a notable person? Gee, I wish housing in real life worked like this! At least with the old quest I had to do a little legwork to earn it.
    • The furnishing mini-tutorial from the old quest was a nice touch, and I'd imagine it may have helped eased some initial confusion about how to furnish a home.
Small and medium sized homes no longer have achievement requirements to purchase them. Does this make it more appealing to purchase?
Yes. But I did like the original concept of rewarding players for having "invested" themselves in the zone. What about offering a modest gold discount (e.g., 5%?) if the player has the achievement? This incentives people to get those achievements while still making the house available for people who just don't want to do those quests?

Also, I noticed that the smaller Imperial homes no longer have the "Imperial Edition" requirement. I assume that this is intended?

Pariah's Pinnacle issue: The flooring is very uneven, making it difficult to place interactable objects like crafting stations, chairs, etc. The only solution is to place those objects in such a way that they actually float which is visually unappealing.

Consider leveling the flooring to make this less of an issue. You could add texture into the flooring to keep the detail, but the weird unevenness should probably go.

Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

    • What did you think of the two new homes, the Orbservatory Prior and Pariah’s Pinnacle?
      • Pariah's Pinnacle is amazing, but 700 item slots is too few for such a huge house! I hope this home is related to Wrothgar achievements and not crown exclusive:)
      • Observatory Prior is very interesting - I don't think it is personally my style but the elevator between levels is really neat idea. The identical upper and lower balcony areas is kinda meh, but i do like the moving clockwork orb "sky".
    • Was the new quest to obtain your first home clear and enjoyable?
      • It was cute, especially the quest giver's dialogue about what some people put in their homes:P I do think the player should run an errand or two though as right now it is get quest, find questgiver, get house + gold. If the quest giver owed us something (ie. we run an errand for her) then her giving us the room and gold makes more sense than just her wanting to have a hero living in the inn. I didn't get a furniture tutorial like some others mentioned (maybe cause I had opened the crafting station container and looted those already on my template?) but I would like if the quest made you go visit the Home Goods Furnisher to alert players to their existence.
    • Small and medium sized homes no longer have achievement requirements to purchase them. Does this make it more appealing to purchase?
      • Not really. In most cases I have had the achievements for these homes for a long while, but I did like in Morrowind that I couldn't just go buy up Ald Velothi at launch, but have to get involved in the zone.
      • There should be some reward for completing the achievements - I do like the suggestion of a discount if you have done the achievements but full price with no needed achievement.
    • Did you look through the new furnishings in the Housing Editor? What did you think of them?
      • Snow! I like the new furnishings, there seem to be quite a lot of variety for the clockwork styles and lots of animated (which is always fun).
      • There seem to be several furnishings that come in the furnished Observatory that are not available for purchase on the crown store. Please make sure these have a source other than buying the furnished Observatory (if they are craftable I apologize because it isn't that easy to farm plans on the PTS)
    • Do you have any other general feedback?
      • The new filters in the housing editor are great, but I think you could use one more filter for "NEW" items. It would make reviewing the newest editions much faster and convenient.
      • There doesn't seem to be any "snow" related furnishings on Home Goods vendors for sale (checked Wrothgar/Eastmarch/Rift). The Cave Deposits don't seem to be available at any Home Goods vendors either (checked Gold Coast in addition to the previous 3 zones). Please add at least some of the snow and cave furnishings to Home Goods Vendors:)
      • Please consider adding more apartment/small/medium homes that are DLC themed in the future rather than just manors. The manors are impressive but hardest to decorate with the item limits. It is often more satisfying to decorate a smaller home without the feeling that you need 100s more item slots for it to suit you.

I find it more satisfying to decorate a smaller home with the feeling that I am just threescore of items off what I actually want to achieve than buying yet another mansion to furnish the stable! (I did that in Amaya Lake Lodge...)

So while I have visited the houses I had not tried to decorate them yet. And I am still in love with Pariah's Pinnacle because... there is SNOW and those gorgeous waterfalls. That being said.. as always there will be no where near enough decor slots... PLEASE give us more!!
Decorating in this house is actually a chore! The diamonds on the floor, the up and down constant pattern of the other parts of the floor make this a BIG problem. Not only is everything sitting uneven or floating but the normal zoom in an out method of moving items doesnt seem to work as well in this house, perhaps because of the floor.
The raised platforms in the rooms and diamonds on the floor i definitely could do without and a more level stone floor like the outside platforms would work nicely. Perhaps even make them "items" in the house that ppl can remove.. Especially the strange raised platform in the big room that i have no idea what is for. I dont mind the ones by the walls but out in the open they are just strange..
I LOVE that snow piles and ice floes are things to move and be added around the house. Because lets face it there will be snow all in my house ..... I do wish there was a way to make snow gather on items you ADD in your courtyard when it snows. Because they kinda look strange when everything else has snow dust on it..

Are there going to be new Ayleid furnishings coming anytime?

The homes are great the only trouble is unauthorized players can enter them and move about. They can also pull you in to PVP when you are on auto decline and kill you. So not so great, when will this exploit be fixed? Let me guess, never?

This is the official feedback thread for housing and the new homes. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
    • What did you think of the two new homes, the Orbservatory Prior and Pariah’s Pinnacle?
    • Was the new quest to obtain your first home clear and enjoyable?
    • Small and medium sized homes no longer have achievement requirements to purchase them. Does this make it more appealing to purchase?
    • Did you look through the new furnishings in the Housing Editor? What did you think of them?
    • Do you have any other general feedback?

I bought the Paria House however I regret it because of the cost and there is so much room but you have to run around on foot it would be nice to be able to mount up.

Also any word on a home in Cold Harbor?

Wow haven't seen this thread hope I am not 2 late to input my 2 cents...

As somebody mentioned housing is a chore now more than enjoyable feature. As much as I can understand the price of each home the rate of getting mats to make 1 epic looking bed is seriously twisted andrequires 2 much farming, you have forgotten many players don't have time to farm 24/7 due to real life/work/taking care of ill family member...

Also most of the DLC/chapter furnishings are so hard to obtain... it seems like a not-delicate-push to buy them from crown store instead which kinda made me unable to enjoy housing anymore even though I have spend untold milions on mats and homes itself (not to mention crowns) but I won't do it anymore, especially after seeing how much you don't work on details within homes...

For example the nord mansion from HoTR update (forgot it's name) the outside of the mansion home does not match the interior... almost no space inside it and 2 low on furnishing items to place total to make it filled with furnishings...

Previous homes: Mathissen Manor (High Elf home 600 slot with ESO+) the windows outside do not match inside...
Are you really thinking you can just brush off problems such as these ? To players that enjoy housing like myself every little mistake like this is visible and really annoy us.

Also the limited time homes you have been releasing are huuuuuge... There is no way to furnish them with current furnishing cap limit when even my Serenity Falls estate cannot be filled with furnishings the way I want it after I hit 700 CAP LIMIT (I consider my mansion 70% done maybe). SO to sum it up if the "smallest" mansion cannot be filled due to cap why should I buy even bigger stuff to let it be not furnished?

There is a bug where during a duel if someone leaps, fears or knocks you back into a player housed object you get stuck in it. It gets really annoying when trying to duel a custom made arena at a player owned home. Is that bug getting a fix?

I would be SO happy if this got fixed for my Arena!!! Tired of fear sending people underneath the bleachers like a freshman at their first High School football game.

I don't do housing myself, but I would have thought that fixing this would have been a priority. People come up with some very cool dueling arenas and it's just wasted since you can be meteored through a floor and feared out of the walls.
