Since i started playing eso i never had one crash (started march this year) - however, since the last update, i crash about every 30 minutes...anyone elese has the same issues?

Ha ha.. oh Lord. Yes, been crashing since this recent DLC release. Can't speak for PC or Xbox, but I'm sure it's no difference than for PS4. Game been crashing, lagging and bugs galore after "every" new contents (DLC, expansion, whatever) and anniversary or temporary holiday events since day 1 for two years for me. I have since accepted that these debacle and whatever technical dysfunctions are just part of an expansive MMO as ESO. So, as a long-time player, I have stop crying and wasting my breath about it eons ago. However, as more new players and newcomers are abound, there will surely be continuous threads complaining about it (until they come to acclimate to it; sad, right?), with no improvement on this anytime to come.

I'm still kind of curious how you can remove the visuals on friendly player aoe's, in an effort to improve the fps, and somehow make the fps worse.

    @Shad0wfire99

Maybe it wasn't actually removed, just a toggle off so all the processing and stuff that creates lag, is still there.
Seemingly they did this but added more to the visuals so while one doesn't show, the processing required is still present so you end up worse than you began.

(complete uniformed assumption on my part)

    Platform? Server?

If PC, system specs? Addons used?

Internet connection including whether wired or wireless?

I have no problems on the PC EU server.

Whilst I am sure that these are valid issues, I can't help thinking that you're missing the point on some of the complaints overall.

Some people are bringing complaints to this forum as they have gone from a perfectly playable system one day, to complete chaos the next day. With no intentional change to their local environment, it is entirely normal (and rational) to assume that the problem is not a local one.

There have been enough posts in the past 24 hours from various people around the world, that enables a blanket conclusion that the problem does not relate to local system specs. The OP clearly states that 'prior to the last update, they never had any crashes'.

    More specifically:
    Broken cable

None of that alters the fact that without mentioning even the platform or server their post serves no purpose as it is meaningless being devoid of any context.
Based on the limited information originally supplied, I would suggest that you don't respond then.

That's one approach certainly, but I think it's more helpful to one's fellow players to try and tease out a bit more information so that a constructive discussion can ensue.

Tandor you must be the only person on the planet that has never had an issue playing the game(yes been here since from the start we know), had lag in game, had unresponsive combat and the rest of the issues that come with playing this game for the rest of humanity. From those of us who understand the equipment we play on and the network we use to access the game and still have issues, please, butt out. Go buy some Crowns or something.

There are plenty of players who haven't had any such problems since they've been playing the game, as indicated every time there's a poll on it. Some of it is down to playstyle, some of it is down to systems, some of it is down to networking issues (especially for Australian players at the moment with the broken undersea cable and issues with Optus) and some of it is down to server issues. if players don't provide decent information about the nature of the problem and their circumstances then they can't expect ZOS or anyone else to come up with any answers. As an example, it's only if an Australian player indicates where he's playing from that he can be pointed to the separate threads detailing the situation with the broken undersea cable and problems with Optus that are affecting Australian internet traffic.

But I quite get that it's easier just to rant about a problem without giving any context and blame ZOS regardless. Sometimes it's their fault, sometimes it isn't. Without any context it's impossible to say.

    I guess.

I'm confused though about what people are calling "crashes"...is it getting dumped to the login screen or is it a computer crash where the PC reboots?

Because a PC reboot is a crash and relates to a person's computer...while getting dumped to login screen is a server issue.

Two different things happen. Sometimes my screen freezes, makes a buzzing sound then I'm at the Xbox dashboard. The other is i will be playing and all of a sudden I cannot change bars or use abilities and 30 seconds or so later I am at the title screen and it says "Unable to connect to game server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection" which I do as I am talking to my friends in an xbox party.

Okay the first one where the screen freezes then you hear that buzzing sound is definitely a "crash" and some kind of software/hardware issue (either ZOS's coding vs your hardware or your hardware actually failing)...the second one sounds like you lost connection to the server (which isn't a "crash", it's called getting booted to login).

I do not lose connection the server in any other games that I play online Xbox regularly at all. It is ONLY this game I have this issue with. This is not a network issue for me. I have spent hours doing troubleshooting suggested to me by support when I submit tickets. This even included me spending hours on the phone with my ISP trying to get them to explain to me how to open ports that support wanted me to open. When none of that worked they suggested I post on here to get the issue resolved. I did. No response still getting dropped from the server. Is it still my fault?

I've crashed 6 times in the past 30 minutes. I'm knocked out of the game and I get the screen that comes up asking what I was doing when the crash occurred. I've been playing since the Beta's and while I've had random crashes this is the worst. I'm on PC NA, I've disabled add-ons, run repairs but nothing is working. I hope the issue is figured out soon. I can't do dungeons or trials. I was turning in my crafting writs in Craglorn and can't even do that, I'll turn in one writ, crash, come back, turn in another and crash. I was trying to see if there was a pattern to what I was doing when I crashed, but there isn't at least none I can see.

As mentioned by some of the others here, the first thing is to delete the settings of the game. I'm on console (PS4 Na-EP-PSN ID: Codeman1976) and can say first hand that I have to delete the settings every update (Sony or ESO related). For the PS4 go to ps4's settings-saved data in storage--delete- check the "ESO save data" box- choose delete. This only deletes the settings. The two things I have always changed in the settings is the assassination camera and no music. Anyway, hope this helps.
