One would think a build making it's way onto the Public Test Server would have been tested internally first. One would think a build promoted from pts to live would have been tested. I was hoping that with Morrowind things will be better... I also think that maybe we should support it only when we see progress...1 -

gard✭✭✭✭✭Hey ZOS, do i need to call my Lawyer. ZOS just THREATEN every ESO player by saying that they will take care of any account taking part in this BUG, yet you won't tell us what this exploit is so that players can stay away from EXPLOIT.
Given that the servers are down to fix the exploit (preventing you from logging in), it might be safe to assume that you won't be using this particular one.

There's multiple good reasons they wouldn't want to divulge the nature of the exploit, especially if it's as serious as accounts being compromised.
Yes, the argument can be made that there shouldn't be an exploit in the first place, but if they had to take the server down to mitigate anything else being done while they figure out a fix, that's probably the correct course of action.2 -
Has anyone given a thought how these down times effect the in game characters they have no way of expressing them selves or at least ive never seen one complain about a game crash in a forum I bet the general at the end of ragines mantle is beside herself [ bad example shes always beside herself ] anywho you get my point we can come here and rant they don't how many of them do you see quitting the game. None they sits or stands ans waits until we can login again and don't moan most don't get to talk to anyone unless its one of us and all we can do is moan and whinge because we cant log in3 -

IP bans won't work against VPN proxy and dynamic ip addresses.IP ban is actually simple, just make a entry in a routing table. Only take a couple of minutes
When I was working in a fortune 500 company's IT dept the senior network architect got tired of spam email from particular place and just blocked everything from that country (it was Ireland of all places). He blocked everything, Email, Web traffic, DNS, Everything..
You do realize that Zenimax is an international company with customers from the whole world?
Banning an entire countries ip range would mean a great loss of business for them.
