People charge to craft, to cover the cost of their time and effort, they charge for WW and Vampire bites, so I don't see why this is really any different.
I don't charge for anything, but that's just me, and I wouldn't pay for a clear / carry / whatever, but others will. It isn't something that spoils my playing time, so I'm not bothered.

I play completely solo. Mainly pvp. The only sort of pve I do is pug 4 mans and VMA. Getting skins especially trial based ones might as well be impossible to me. It's like a whole part of the game I dont really play because I stay pretty quiet online and finding enough skilled people willing to do that sort of thing would eat up to much of my playtime. Id pay for any skin to be honest, I want one so bad, lol. Sometimes I wish pvp or vma had skins.

You're paying for somebodies time. I suppose it's no different to people paying for skyreach runs. Running content, farming sets, and selling weapons and armour. And in that sense I don't really have a major issue with it.

At the same time my true feelings on the matter is that we're all here to play and enjoy the game. Experience content. Who am I to turn somebody down the right to play and enjoy the game just as much as the rest of us just because they don't have a couple mil to hand over.

Personally, if I was apart of a top tier group of 12 players who breeze through vmol daily, I'd have no issues dropping a player and taking somebody in who doesn't so much fit in to that category of players, at no charge whatsoever.

Honestly who is it harming? In the grand scheme of things. Who is being negatively impacted in any meaningful or measured manner?

What these arguments boil down to, if there is anyone out there actually complaining about it, is that their sensitive insecure individuals. Individuals that derive their self-importance from ultimately meaningless accomplishments in a video game. And anyone being carried to that accomplishment is undermining that assigned importance. And they should be rightly ignored.

It is frowned upon because you were miserable enough to pay. Me and my corporation were always getting hired and paid millions of ISK by weaker teams to help defend their districts against a stronger team. The stronger team would always then cry because they saw it was no longer going to be an easy fight (it was hilarious). I did not do it because of the ISK i did it because i liked helping weaker corporations getting bullied but the free cash on the side was nice. It was hilarious because some of these bully corporations taking advantage of weaker ones were complete fodder against us and we were getting rich af on the process. The joys of being the 0.1%. The game eventually died because it was on ps3.

Here on this game it's different... You are not fighting anyone or losing anything. it's just you getting carried by 11 guys WOOOOOW

I agree, I'd do that too, and I wish there were more people who thought like this, rather than thinking about how much gold they could stiff someone for.
As I said, paying for runs doesn't hurt my playtime personally, and I'm not going to point fingers or demand people stop charging to run people through Maw and the like, but I do wish that sometimes people would just do something just for the kindness of it.
For a society today that boasts it is big on promoting kindness and positivity and the like, there isn't much influence of it around here.

Would be fun to run with Shadzilla and his crew as well as others I've seen here since laumch that i've never had the chance to do content with, but I think i'll go at my own pace and practice with my guild.

I do not see anything wrong with it, as long as both the buyer and seller fulfill their ends. Just like how I feel like buying/selling or giving free bites is part of the game. I do agree that people should be honest about their skill level, and to not join content they cant complete if they're not open about it with their group. Most people dont mind carrying someone so long as they knoa what handicaps are in place.

I totally agree! I am a pretty mediocre player. I play for fun and aesthetics and immersion. Paying other players in gold even fits into the immersion of gameplay. In keeping with the lore it's perfectly viable to hire well equipped and skilled mercenaries or bodyguards if you're a spell weaving character etc etc. Possibilities for immersive gameplay are limitless.

Ive had this same problem, maybe it's a console thing or even just an Xbox thing... less end game guilds than on pc?

End game guilds are really rare from my experience and the few I've encountered have had many toxic players.

Time commitment is a really big factor too, some guilds run trails for hours everyday and I guess if you can't commmit to that (I can't) it means you lose your place on the squad.

I've known people on console who've beat vMOL and be super high and mighty about it.

This 1 guy I was chatting to (before he beat vMOL) was boasting in a very elitist way about his uber DPS - this was on voice chat to me, I was like ok!?
He then claimed to be pulling 60k DPS on his magplar in trails I called bs and he said come to my house so I can show his DPS... I was like ok np :)

On his magplar he came,he was averaging between 22-24k DPS - with me supplying ele drain... to his credit he was honest about his DPS - I could tell from his clumsy rotation... anyway this loud mouth guy (he's at CP cap btw) then proceeds to say his stam sorc is much better and he's desperate to prove his "leet" DPS to me, then I'm like ok.

On his sorc, he barely managed 23k on his multiple attempts and to top things off, he couldn't sustain so at about 30% health on 3 mil dummy he was HA like crazy.
He proceeds to ask my advice about DPS how to get better DPS and also VMA advice on flawless conqueror - he told me he created a stam sorc (easiest class to get title on next to mag sorc) purely with the intention of getting the flawless conqueror title.... he still after 100+ runs on his Stam sorc cannot get the title.
I offered him advice about VMA and DPS (sets etc) before I could say a sentence he'd interrupt me....
Then his final ramblings after me failing to give him advice due to his constant interputiions - he then proceeds to slate loads of guild members to me, saying this and that not in a banter way but offensive, I told him I'm not interested in that nonsense and left the group....

To get to the point - this guy is a toxic player - rude, interrupts you, lies about DPS, 1st to kick lower players on pugs, very average in terms of the top DPS, boasts about things such as titles/skins etc.

I saw him the other day - no longer in same guild and not friends, I couldn't care less about his toxic attitude.
He had the vMOL skin  he came upto me, obviously he was in the Nordic bath towel to show his "leetness". He then whispered me "yo u like my skin homeboy?", I'm like "sure", then he says "haha rofl I even got this skin before you mong xD" I say "nice, have you got flawless yet on your stam sorc?"
Him - "who needs that when I got this, I'm better than you" I say "sure thing, seya" and decided to block him as I cba with ppl like that.

Point being - that toxic player got the skin, despite him being a far worse player than me but I do believe the more social and active you seek trails guilds it's more possible.

I'd love the vMOL skin but the commitment to trails on a regular basis is not something I can give to a guild, my DPS and communication is on song, it's the more people you know kind of thing I think.

The only problem I have is the title they get. Buying maw clears drastically reduce the prestige of the title. You work hard for the title and people just say that you bought it even if you earned it by clearing the content legitimately.

Dromathra Destroyer is now just another random title worn by every low CP scrub who had enough money to afford it. I would rewrite the achievement:
"Earn some milions to buy maw clear,
    Reward: Title: Dromathra Destroyer"

At least Flawless Conqueror and other titles can't be bought and hold much more value now than Dromathra Destrobuy.

It's perfectly okay to buy a skin. At some point I was thinking to try it too, but... I would hate to be in group knowing they do not respect me as group member and pay for this feeling :| I like when each group member is valuable and respected. Also nobody will "carry" me while I carry all vMA weapons in almost every trait. Well, reading as skins and titles can be acquired by gold or exploits, I'm just losing opportunity to spend part of my useless gold on cosmetic item which I will probably never get otherwise. But I also know that I could earn it and wear it with pride. If only vet trials had solo option :/ I just wasn't lucky to find EU raid group with nice people + not requiring to use voice chat (knowledge of mechanics after enough practice, your role and your group members, and situational awareness of each member do not need voice communication).

LOL. @Shadzilla finding a way to advertise his services on the forum while disguising it as a "discussion".

It's a bit like "adult entertainment", I suppose. People on both sides of the transaction are hush about it (except for Shad of course), but the skin is too enticing for the buyer, and the gold is too shiny for the seller (particularly since many endgame players are strapped for cash, though Shad here is an exception and is quite loaded), and so it happens despite people's public protestations.

Eh, whatever. I suspect most of the people who buy it just want it for the cosmetics rather than as a badge of prestige.

Having low CP doesn't mean you can't get that achievement. I've cleared vHoF HM with someone in our group at 400cp :) They're just good players. Maybe the person you saw did buy their achievement but having low cp doesn't definitely mean they were carried.

I don't see any prestige in skins of any kind since this kind of market.

Btw when I started playing months ago, something hilarious happened about skins, at start I had no idea about them and I was utterly convinced it was some kind of cosmetic item from the crown store!

Whispered a player with vmol skin to ask the price he paid in the Store for that (not interested in that item, for me it's pretty ugly tbh, I was interested about pricing in general since I like cosmetic items and overall they seemed to me a bit expensive), in short he got soooo pissed, damn if he was mad, I wasn't trolling tho, really had no idea. :D

In some situations it may be a player would be able to complete the content had they had a group that was up to par. So some may be justified, and may not actually be a carry in the traditional sense.
