I believe one already exists in Wrothgar

And it doesn't break your immersion that people can duel right infront of a City Guard without the guard breaking up the brawl in the streets?

The serious duelists find a place to gather in set locations to minimize lag and other distractions like the baby "wanna be" duelist kids inviting everyone to a duel.
This method avoids mudballs, lag, distractions, mudballs, my horse, mudballs, baby duelusts and more mudballs then my hourse on their body the entire fight.
Thank you for dueling with respect for your fellow players. If you duel in a populated area you are saying you don't respect everyone's right to play the game in peace with lore intact.

I still say, let it be enabled, but make it illegal, with guards putting down the foot of the law on all and any who would duel within city limits in defiance of the cardinals law...Shadow_Viper_vX wrote: »Please disable dueling in cities and around wayshrines

Don't be so short sighted. Some people actually duel for fun while waiting for pledge/trial to start. The fact that you used "serious duelists" for a game so imbalance is a joke.
BTW, where is your Sypher? Seems like you won't bump into him at all.
Let's ask the Elder Scrolls lore.
Hey Elder Scrolls Lore! In your world, when people have a problem with anyone else, do you think even murderers wake up said folk and say "hey, I want to kill you, meet me outside them city walls" or.. Do they just do it?
Also, hey ES lore, if someone wants to fight, do you think the same thing happens? They ask the other person to meet somewhere outside the walls? Neh, they just do it right then and there.
Seems accurate to me.

...oh, wait, wrong universe... but the basic premise is still a valid clichee, so let's go for it, and make the guard react to duellings, arrest all the duellers, fine them, maybe rough them up a little as well...
After all, more then enough places to duel otherwise, yes? And more could be opened - from the hall of trials in Windhelm to several arenas we visit in diverse quests... once you get done with their quest-related use, the locations could be made available for duelling location options, right?
Oh, and add an feature that makes people auto-accept duel requests for say 20 seconds after they take an treasure chest or resource. You know, for those loot stealers...

With lore intact? Lmao! How does dueling go against lore. Immersion maybe, but lore? In Skyrim you could have a mage come challenge you to a duel in whatever town you happened to be in. Did that break the lore?

A mage challenges you once in Skyrim because he is weak and an appretice mage. Just like the baby duel kids.
The true Duelist in Skyrim is The Ebony Warrior who comes to challange you when you are a high rank. He tells you he has seen and done it all. He then tells you to PREPARE for a duel with him way up in the mountains. No witnesses, just too warriors with honor and code.
Having a baby players cause noise and fight with 4 or 5 fights going at once in the center of Mournhold is nothing like Skyrim.
Keep trying, but your baby duels will get restricted from cities and markets very soon a little bird told me. ; )

ZOS just need to host some duelling events somewhere else, then all those duelling enthusiasts will be gone.

I hope you are aware of the fact that such offences are reportable, and eventually will lead to a temporarely ban. This is the same griefing people had, when players threw mud-balls on people that was dyeing their gear/costumes. People got punished for that & people will get punished for griefing duels, too.

We would be better off with designated places for duels. Arena duels would be a nice diversion with PVP. (Should've been added with the DB and Kvatch.) It would be even better if we could queue for duels. Having a designated place with incentives (or even a skill line) would cut down on all the public duels.
ZOS needs to do something to actually incentivizes people dueling in other locations like Hammerdeath Arena. Until there's a way for duelers to find sparring partners without needing to go to cities, it's not really fair to force them out of the only places they can find people.
They could send them to their own instance for the duel...
or me.
Oh yes let's add yet another load screen, actually 2 load screens one for entering and one for leaving.
I actually don't see all this dueling people talk about. I definitely don't get extreme lag from it.
It was just an idea. On PS4, performance has become increasingly worse since console launch. Frame rates are iffy and NPCs and objects take forever to load when entering a zone. It used to not be like that before the dueling and Tamriel: Overcrowded Edition.
I don't understand why the guards don't get involved and attack the duelers for disturbing the peace. That would certainly discourage it from happening on top of wayshrines in the cities.
Shadow_Viper_vX wrote: »And other busy areas. The lag on consoles at peak times is getting out of hand.
Maybe we should be organizing mobs to go and crowd around the duelling banners when they go up and just follow the combatants around.FrancisCrawford wrote: »If somebody duels in a place where they shouldn't -- because it's otherwise too busy -- I often stand in the dueling circle, on horseback, or otherwise mildly grief them.
