How inflated do people make those numbers? Is there a way to confirm? Some guys with a 6 inch tool claim it is nine. Stuffing your pants with sausage does not make you a stud, and spouting out high dps numbers does not mean you are good. Seems more like stroking your own ego and if you were being obnoxious, you deserved what you got for acting like a D.

What you don't understand - or pretend to not understand , is that you posted your DPS with the INTENT to inform tank and helaers. The reality is, noone knows your intent.

Im sorry I missunderstood. I take back the fact that it's not ok to send me hate messages. I should have read the situation better. I will also accept a suspension from the game for my extremly bad behavior where I shared my personal boss fights without letting my group members know why.

I personally hate the DPS chasing. It's Epeen at its finest. Console players have gone dummy man stroking their own egos since U13. 'Real world' quality output that's what's impressive.

I dont care what stat another DPS is pulling, and in particular if someone told me and I hadn't asked I would think it was knobby. So whilst the reaction u got was OTT, I can see how it happens

It's like being at a party and some rich dude shouting YO I MAKE $100K a year. No one cares. They might however admire your supercar if you just pulled up

Now say I'm running content and I see some DPS burn a boss way fastest than I ever can, or do stuff I cant, hell I might then say Kudos dude, what you running.

But to outright just pop up and talk numbers is odd behaviour. If people care they will ask.

Yet you have a signature showing off your own epeen about how you're a 600 cp stormproof master crafter... I don't even.

Like, if you're gonna show off in your sig, at least get flawless conqueror first

@OP - so you want the group to know your DPS, both because you felt good about a run, and because the group's buffs might have been exceptionally good that round.

Personally, I don't care what anyone posts in group chat, unless it is something to do with how we're going to kill the next boss, mechanics, or a "please wait while my magica refills".

But if you really want to include DPS in the discussion, rather try something like "Hey guys, your buff uptime was amazing this round. My DPS was about 2k higher than normal!". If anyone is then interested, they'll ask what your DPS was. If not, you'll have to make peace with the fact that this group isn't interested in a DPS discussion.

And always remember. You might not be the only one to run something like CombatMetrics. Rather keep honest if you start posting numbers. While I may not see your DPS, I will laugh if my DPS was lower than what you claim, but I did more than 50% of the damage for the fight.

Just looked at my latest discussion headlines to name a few:

- My combat metrics parses didn't save and old deleted parses came back
- Spriggan doesn't give endless hail the penetration if used on weapons
- Zhaj'hassa vmol cleanse platform bug
- Losing the best players due to end game priority
- Why does endless hail only tic 18 times and not 20?
- Sabre cat review
- What is "abilities" in this game?
- Greataxe?
- No need to interrupt vmol twins anymore 1

Looks like for me I'm trying to solve the game with bug reports and ideas how to make end game better. Sure you might find a brag post or two if you really looking, but this is not the case from my side.

If I were on PC, I'd totally post my deeps cause I spent tons of gameplay hours in front of a dummy to get that deeps.

I actually got 80% combat prayer and it was on stam sorc with aoe, so no special secrets there

The least I can do is show off my achievements and work my epeen a bit with my dps numbers.

Two things most players dislike:

1. Being told how to play when they didn't ask for advice.

2. Someone posting their DPS numbers to show off how great they are at pushing buttons.

I personally don't need to see dps numbers in group chat, I know when the bosses are being melted. It doesn't bother me if people do, but I don't need to know.

Question? Do you post your bad numbers too? Or just high numbers?

If no one bothers or asking for post, I post only high ish. If others post, I post 100% of the times so they can compare. Thanks for the cookie, looks great.

Honestly sounds like some one just needs to study the meaning of "discretion".

My DPS is high, and I'm still fine tuning the build. It's a lot higher than most in PuGs but I never posted my DPS because they don't care. They are just there to get their pledge, or get their achievement.

I've been in groups where someone will post their DPS, and mine is higher. I still don't post unless I know it's a friendly group that is just there to have fun.

Allthough I kind of asked the community a question, and so far I still get hate ish posts about how much I brag. I don't see how my post can be that missunderstood when I tried my best to explain my point very detailed.
And for those who wonder, yes I am proud of what I have and will achieve in this game. Gold, dps, achievement, scores etc. I am proud of what I achieve and everyone should be proud as well. Is that a crime?

DPS racing is fun. I've been tanking recently for my pledges and such with friends, but when I used to DPS we would often run three DPS and a heal-tank (now I'm the heal tank) and we race for highest DPS. We had a group dps addon that showed what DPS everyone was doing so we didn't need to post numbers. It was so much fun. When the dungeons are easy for your group to complete, it is fun to have a different competition. I'll always welcome DPS posting in PUGs as well as long as some guy isn't bragging about his 16k (has happened more than once) it is hard to tank a dungeon when I'm laughing my ass off.

Two things Most ppl dislike

1. Ppl queue as Tanks and dont even have a taunt in their bar
2. Ppl queue as DDs and cant even score 10k DPS and wasting the time of the heal and tank

I dont know what their problem was, but if Im doing a *raid* I want the best DPS possible. I want the best Tank possible. I dont want a 20 minute raid to last 2 hours.
