Bad players hate dps

I dont understand the hate. Everybody does something slightly annoying to someone else. I could care less if I join a group and tank posts how awesome his setup was. Maybe he spent literal months working on it and finally got the right pieces.

I try to only kick rude players, and people intentionally sabatoging the group. Op posting his dps, couldnt care less. Maybe he spent literal months farming vma, finally got his reward, and is just now trying it out. Honestly not many people get that feeling because the rng in this game tends to push peopke toward quitting vs feeling accomplished for their effort. Some1 starts screaming in chat I'll drop them from the group so fast half of cyrodiil will lag.

Kinda see where zos gets their *** ideas from. Crappy players with crappy attitudes that would rather throw cash at rng crates than go earn something meaningful.

I post my DPS in 15 second intervals in Zone Chat.

On side note, with so many people saying they don't care...even leaving aside the part where if you don't care there's no need to say anything one way or the other("don't care about something" literaly just means just that - if that something happens, you're like "well, okay", if it doesn't happen you're like "well, okay" too)...

"I don't care about your DPS" doesn't mean "I don't care that you post your DPS to brag". Simple as that.

You may argue that posting your dps without being asked is a bit of bragging and showing off(but then let's be honest...most/all of us like showing off some when they have something to show off :p )

Wrong. Most players, including excellent ones, don't need nor want to show off anything. Don't generalize the attitude of a few that need for some reason to feed their real ego with their performance

There's a whole giant section in your journal for that though. One called "achievements" ;) Let's be honest, most of us enjoy having stuff there. It might be "I did vMoL" or "I got Master Angler" or even "I decorated the best home possible/got all 3 fancy homes" but sense of progression of some kind is one of the biggest things that keep players around. And yes, that goes with showing off and it doesn't have to be all bad. If you did well in something, you should feel good about it, not bad because someone else did worse. And it's natural to want to share that.

I will agree that following that up with "u suck l2p scrubs" is a bad attitude but it doesn't sound like that's what the op did.

Also at least half the pugs I end up with lately have combined dps of like <15k, and that's with all the buffs, I'm not kidding you. I'm super happy if it'll be at least 30k. I have been in a few pugs who must've pushed 70+ but it's exceptions.

Frankly at this point I feel it's time we stop trying to not hurt their feelings and tell them they're underperforming and need to get better if they want to do vet dungeons. And that's from someone who's spent 5+ hours getting newbies through vet dungeons before, prior or after or along with crafting them purple set gear for free. It shouldn't come in "l2p scrub" form but it needs to be done somehow because the amount of (high cp, too) players who are underperforming enough to make a random veteran dungeon (nearly) fail is simply amazing.

Bolded part is where we disagree.
Achievement joy is one thing, and showing off is another. And the two are not necessarily related... I don't need to "show" to be happy of something I've achieved. Many people are like me. I guess many people are like you say and like to show off, though. And it doesn't have to be a bad thing, as you say. However, how, where and to whom you show off does matter and may require some discernment.

We've had a similar conversation on the same subject a couple of months ago, @Magdalina . I know you're a nice person. And I know we won't come to an agreement. And that's ok.
But let's put it this way : Hundreds of people in ESO help other people improving one way or the other on a daily basis. Tips, advice, experience are being exchanged and shared all the time. Just like you do.
That proves that among the right people, with the correct tone and the appropriate communication, it works.

How come then that people like @OrphanHelgen (but he's not the only one in here) testify on every possible occasion that ESO is a world of brave good players facing hords of selfish clueless lazy noobs that don't want to improve in any way and need to be carried ? I think he's the problem. Not you and not me (even though we don't share the same initial point of view).

Yes, I remember that chat :p Fortunately at least they've added a couple decent dungeons since that one to keep my bloodthirsty soul happy or I wouldn't be here.

The bolded part is an issue actually and is why I feel a need to post in OP's defense rather than the other way round. It hasn't been working very well lately. In fact, it's been working atrociously awful lately. No matter how nice you try to be about it, 9/10 pugs send you to hell and beyond if you just dare hint they need to change something. I see that attitude from low cp and even moreso from high cp which is alarming.

It seems that between One Tamriel opening up everything for everyone(which in general is good), ever present lack of learning curve(now more of an issue with One Tam) and people not bothering to tell others they're underperforming because they either don't wanna bother and can carry or don't want to hurt anyone's feelings we have this gigantic mass of players who have no idea how to play yet are fully convinced their group's fails are anyone's fault but theirs...and keep queueing for vet dungeons.

I don't personally know OP but in the forums posts I've seen he seems to be a lot more mature and considerate than most of those opposing him so it's kinda weird to see all this hate to me. Either way don't think we should turn this into discussing OP as a person.

Personally I'll show off to friends because yes it's fun. In a pug...I dunno, not usually but I might if I feel my performance was op outstanding. If someone else does it I'll likely feel a mix of "wow cool" and...cautious because a lot of the time it's people mainly used to their own core groups and not pugging, and therefore leaving at first sign of trouble. It's not always the case though and giving someone personal hate for simple dps post is beyond childish.
People can have different attitudes but it'd be nice if we could all keep in mind that someone having a different attitude than you doesn't necessarily make them a bad person.
