I am on the train of thought as some others in here. More than RNG, I find trait imbalance to be a much larger issue. It pigeonholes use into running very specific traits to be competitive on both PvE and PvP fronts. It also makes it so the majority of loot is just more scrap to be carried back. The only upside with the trait imbalance is that there are far fewer things to clog up the struggle known as inventory space.

I don't trust Germans that don't know the difference between das and dass, but it definitely looks promising.

Drop rate is still abhorrent. It's so remarkably obvious that nobody cares about the crap traits they put in there, yet for some reason they're still there. Just remove the useless junk traits from the loot table already. People shouldn't be running solo content a dozen times a week for a year straight and still not get the drop they want. I mean ffs, it's been a year. Use your brains ZOS. Take one afternoon away from retexturing senche tigers for crown sale and remove crap traits from vMA. People simply do not go into vMA looking for those items, no matter how hard you try to convince yourselves that they do.

    i know right!

the rng is awful in there

ive done it almost 10 times now and all i have is

    a decicive lightning staff

    1 precise & 1 powered resto staff

    a nirn greatsword

    1 charged, 1 precice, 1 infused & 1 sharpened battleaxe

    a decicive bow

    (jk, bragging, rngeebus loves me)

    2 good resto drops.

1 sharp battleaxe - amazing drop
    1 nirn great sword.

Much better drops than most ppl in first 10 runs.

    Zero.

Get enough people to stop running vMA if you want serious attention.

ZOS loves internal metrics. They do listen to us, but you have a better chance of getting a change if the right numbers support you.

They really do. But zos likes to procrastinate too. A token system would have alot of implementations/things to consider. Removing certain traits would be a much faster, temporary solution thst would drop vmsa hatred down 99%.

Shame on them for procrastinating it.

@zos if you want replayability in vmsa offer random reward coffers per run. Like 50x alchemy mats, a couple gold improvement items for whatever. Honestly, I'd farm vmsa for like, 50 dragonthorn. Or a kuta/perfect row, or temper.

some folks like me, don't like to farm mats. If I could farm pve content (it's still work, but more enjoyable for my playstyle) I'd replay the crap it of thst content. the reward should match the difficulty, and not be overgenerous. Tempering alloys shouldnt be 3k for example. But generous enough thst players will run your content.

offtopic: if you want to buff eso+ because it doesn't extend to morrowind. Give eso+ better utility with their assistants. They pay extra for it, and you damn sure know people will throw money at you jist to have the feature.

None of this is rocket science.

After 100+ runs still now sharp fire or lightning staff / cry.

Plenty of resto and s&b though.

As long as they´re constructive and not just lazy rants about not getting the weapon you want after 1000 runs (which in most cases isn´t even a 100 runs) we can have as many posts about vmsa as we like. But unfortunatly 99% of the "fix" threads about vMSA are just ***. Like when some people complain about RNG but have nothing to back up their arguments, another player takes their time to write down/summerize 1500 drops and do some statistic analyze to prove a point (which actually lead to ZOS changing they way some drops in vMSA behaves). People often talks about a tokensystem (I´ve no problems with the current rng tbh, but not against a tokensystem as long as it´s implemented the right way), that´s fine I guess, but then you realise people only want a token system because they´re lazy to do vmsa a few times or don´t have time for it (which in my opinion isn´t a valid reason to change things in a mmo).

My point is that I´m tired of crappy suggestions on how to fix the game without any real experience or research done on the issue.

The droprate on what kind of trait you get isn´t scewed at all. It´s actually very fairly distribuated (with sharpened actually being the most common one). The thing that is/was scewed was the droprate on what kind of weapons you got (dagger being the least common). This is based on a summerize on 1500 drops (from different players) a player did a while ago. Can try to find the post and link it if you like, but stop stating things that aren´t true or that you´ve got no insight or clue about.

....You're joking, right? a few times?

3 is not = to 100+ (around 70 for me personally but others do MANY more with no luck)

Also, i was a part of that 1500 drop number for that analysis. I know what you mean... but the other person was not wrong. People run this 100s of times and get nothing they are looking for.

I'm for ANYTHING that will make that not happen anymore.

It's a quite simple fix ZOS has to make:

Add an extra difficulty (Torture mode) for leaderboarders to vMSA / Dungeons / Trials

    - Normal mode (for beginners) -> No vMSA weapons
    - Veteran mode (for advanced casual gamers) -> vMSA weapons & no leaderboards
    - Torture mode (for people with OCD) -> vMSA weapons & leaderboards & extra title

The rewards will be the same from Veteran and Torture modes, just only Torture mode will have leaderboards for "recognition".

Veteran mode difficulty will be toned down so (enthusiastic) casual gamers you can complete it with ease in 30minutes and actually grind for vMSA weapons (which will still be a LONG road), instead of completing it once and never touching it again.

Torture mode will be made a LOT harder, since the "pro's" don't have any challenge anymore right now and still want recognition in leaderboard for their "pro" skills.

It's a small tweak for ZOS, everyone will be happy, except for the griefers who don't like seeing other players happy while playing a game and they will demand other players experiencing grief and frustration like they do or want to have.

Introducing this system to all dungeons / trials / arenas will brighten up Elder Scrolls Online a lot. If any dev / community manager reads this post, please seriously consider this, it will improve your game for the majority of the (enthusiastic) casual gamers who play ESO, and will most likely bind them longer to your game.

    Agree 100%.

I don't consider myself a totally casual player, while i have 6 cp530 character after 4 months of play.. But vMA is still too hard for me. I am not embarassed in this. I'm gaming for fun. Any place which requires over 10 retries is not fun to me. If I was 12 years old lifeless boy I'd be in the leaderboard of vMA. But the bad thing is I am not. And the way I see it ZoS orienting their game for a more grown up community. So please, cut the bs and make vMA an enjoyable and not frustrating experience.

    Hi,

I fully agree. But, is not only VMA RNG that is awful. Trying to get a decent shoulder
from the undaunted chests is no different.

See my thread about RNG for shoulders:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/323049/zoz-change-the-odds-get-rid-of-unnecessary-shoulders-and-make-the-game-more-fun-for-all-of-us#latest

    Best,

    Atherol

The RNG is horrible, it is not fun to go all the way just to get a rigged RNG useless weapon. Why are they doing this? everyone seems to hate it and it is not fun in any way to run VMA hundreds of times and still not get the weapon you need.

Leader boards is still there for people to keep coming back to VMA, but forcing people to keep coming to VMA because of horrible RNG is very cheap.

Listen to your freaking customers ZOS, many people quit because of crappy VMA rng and personally I am not far off from that.

When they put in the token system and you have to run it 50 times to get what you want...people will complain. This token system could be worse than the RNG but hey, at least after 50 runs you can pick what you want.
