Scale Everyone to Max CP on CP Campaigns

I never compare RL to a game, but in this instance I will. No new player should be on the same lvl as a veteran, just like a new employee should and will NEVER start at the same wage as a manager. It's common sense.

Eh, sure why not. If people are scaled in PvE why not PvP. They would only have access to the raw stats gained from CP not the traits or better gear.

If I am a noob, what are you? Start at 7:54 if it doesn't automatically.

He seems like someone not playing a stamblade. I mean, if you really ant to talk about balance, that class is probably here you should start.

    Can't find your w key?

Leif I know you know the non cp stuff well. I just don't think this is a productive use of our time when looking for balances and further I doubt in the grand scheme it would even have much of a impact.

progression. Play on Azuras when you hit 160 to max level they always need players. If you are below 160 well Black Water is the place for you.

This whole I am entitled to it even though I didn't put the work or time into it attitude is crap. I personally put the time & energy into my grind and with the changes in the last few patches the grind is far less. If you don't have max CP go to Azuras, get grinding, or get dead. ZOS you have catered to the entitlement of lazy players for to long please don't give in again as it undermines my hard work & time even more than you have already. My first toon took 2 months to get to max. Now you can fast grind in under 10hr. When does it become easy enough for all noobs to shut their complaint box?

You cannot fast grind to max cp in 10 hours. Lulz

I have hated CP points and it has kind of taken me out of Cyrodiil and the game quite a bit since not long after 1.6 but I have to say; I finally just let go and went in to PvP last night with my guild knowing I was pretty far down with ~170 CP but I would just add to the numbers and do the best I could. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Actually; I had a lot of fun. I'm not going to win a lot of fights if I get singled out away from the group but some smart play and picking your targets you can be productive.

Like someone else said. At least you earn CP while PvPing. Which is more than I can say about trying to farm a piece of gear I need.

Perspective from a low CP player - After leveling out of Blackwater Blade (with 2 characters), I stopped PVPing with my vets. Focused on crafting, skillpoint quests, and Undaunted since then. Now that I'm at 300CP, I'm more likely to go back in to BWB with a new character (I have 6 low level alts waiting), than to enter a CP campaign finally with my vets.

I haven't even tried Vet CP PVP yet. Everyone seems to say the advantage of max CP versus low/mid is overwhelming.

Just remove the disgusting CP system from PvP entirely and have people relearn how to actually manage their resources instead of maxing damage and crutching on CP.

Use battle spirit to return the resources unfairly stolen from our builds when CP was implemented forcing us to grind it back with CP.

Adding about 3k magicka and stamina with battle spirit should make up for what CP stole from us.

All you people crying about all your "hard work" killing goblins and crackwood cave to level up your CP can still use it in PvE where meaningless vertical progression belongs.

I said it earlier in the thread but I think giving the Resources (Health/Magicka/Stamina) of max CP without the ability to assign them to any passives would be relatively easy to implement. You can only assign the CP that you have earned up to cap.

This would allow lower CP players to have more resources but they would lack the boosts in sustain/healing/damage beyond the amount of CP they have.

It would also help if the UI was updated so that people wouldn't automatically focus the lower CP players.

It would make more sense to balance by eliminating CP completely from PvP.

This is the core issue. It's so difficult to get new players interested in PVP when it's basically required for you to not only grind out 560+ CP, but to also spend weeks grinding gear in dungeons (and god knows how long doing Undaunted dailies for shoulders), and then to grind gold to upgrade your new gear to gold, etc. ZOS knows this is an issue, as they've implemented things in the past to help new players get into ESO quicker (CP cap, battleleveling), but more needs to be done. Call it "entitlement" or "giving a handout" all you want, at the end of the day, if there's no new players coming in, then the game dies.

As for playing on Azura's Star, it's definitely a fun server (I've enjoyed fighting the Fengrush horde this past week), but keep in mind that a lot of the core game mechanics were changed to accommodate CP (dodge roll fatigue, streak fatigue, increase to skill costs, new items like poisons and Fasalla's Guille, etc.) and, while they make sense when CP is in the picture, without CP they're very unbalanced.

The majority of the current state of PvP is dictated by CP. Before we had CP we had soft caps. These soft caps dictated where we needed to put our resources in order to be the most effective. There weren't dps proc sets. There were class imbalances sure, but not much different than now.

Now we have CP (which has re-introduced things that have been available within the "spell power" and "weapon power" calculations for the last two years) and sets that bolster things that should have been available from launch.

CP shouldn't be a surprising development. Level caps always get raised in MMO's. ESO just moved from linear leveling to something more pyramid shaped. Either way it shouldn't be news to anyone.

If you want PvP in a more skill-based campaign play on the campaign that doesn't allow CP. Because at least in that campaign you know you will be killed by the player or by their armor set. That's better than factoring in CP in my opinion,

Sure, why not? I never liked the idea of "Because I spent more time clicking virtual zombies to death to get imaginary video game points, I should be stronger than you" anyways. You can't have competitive PVP when so much of PVP boils down to whoever has grinded the most.

Then what should it be based on??? Popularity? Looks? If not the grind...then what???? You really think you should come into the game *now* and have the same competetive edge as someone who has been playing their a$$ off since beta?? Come on now :expressionless:

Skill ... knowlege of the game and classes. Knowing when to block when to dodge when to attack when to buff.

For someone new to the game just because they have the same gear same cp doesn't make them skilled. Experience and knowledge lead to power. Hatred fear those lead to the darkside.

There are basically two camps here. One wants pvp to be more skill and less progression based, and well the other wants the opposite.

Nieither are wrong some games go one way some go another. The most successful long running game that has maintained high pvp populations is probably GW2. I haven't played that game in a couple of years, but when I left it was still heavily skill based. by skill based I generally mean even if gear or other acquired things make a difference, they are relatively easy to get for the majority of the player base.

ESO probably puts more emphasis on progression in pvp then any western pvp mmo I've ever played. Asian mmo's are so different it's hard to make any comparison without taking into account all the ways the asian market is different.

For those that want more skill based, me being one of them, this is never going to be that game, I see no chance that they just reverse directions. The best you can hope for is better skill balance, and no more features like emp, which I'm betting is generally thought of internally as a mistake.

Why's that depressing? What is wrong with being at an even footing with new players apart from your experience and knowledge of the game? Progression belongs in PvE where you always bash up things less powerful then you and they need motivation cause nothing changes, PvP is dynamic and should be skill vs skill, not having players rewarded with higher base stats (CP) just because they've played for longer.

Lol this is the age of entitlement where people want an unfair advantage over other people without working for it through skills and knowledge acquisition. People like this poster is what ruins any semblance of balance and competitive PvP and turns it into a grind PvE for the most PvP power type of game.
