The regen and the skills plus the damage resistance on low-life is great.
In PVP I'd strongly say "No!" to vampires cuz the damage resistance does not make up for the damage bonus execute abilities have!

Oddly enough....this is the opposite.
If your doing serious PVE the regen and damage resistances are something your allready gonna have or will have close to. Ten percent regen means precisely *** to most DPS builds since they either have enough to run their stuff anyway. The damage resistance is near useless as most mag builds have survivability anyway and most Stam builds have vigor, or a healer.
And a PVE vampire tank is just wrong. Flat out. You will die, you will die because fire damage on something like Skoria and kill the group, and your undeath passive wont have saved you.
In PVP however....you have batswarm, you have a single target stun and self heal which drains ultimate, you have one of the best damage evasion skills, mist...both vampire and werewolf are damn near tailor made for PVP, hence why their downsides strongly factor -into- PVP.

Careful about generalizations. On 3 different toons (all vamp) I have Tank'd, DPS'd, and Healed vCoA hard mode.
On my vamp tank I've even solo'd the last 3mil of Skoria's HP with no platforms.
Honestly I became a vampire only for the skin, I had no Idea I would have so many debuffs.
Horrfying health regen (Yes I know you can reduce this by wasting skill points)
Weakness to fire by 25%
Weak abilities comparatively
Consistently need to feed to turn back transformation levels and this always costs me in cities and I can barely do it elsewhere.
I need to revert back to normal very soon as they are affecting me badly in Lava Queen/City of Ash 2/Anything Fire based
Solution
We need Craftable/Drop sets aiming to shield certain elemental damage like the Older games
Eg Armor sets that reduce the effect of fire damage by 30%
I remember nords being Frost resistent and what not in Skyrim. Along with magic/stam/health benefits, certain races to also have resistancies
Your thoughts ?

Dunmer have 2148 resistance, which is 4% of additional resistance, game also still have fire resistance jewellery enchants which gives the same amount as dunmer passive(it maybe was buffed with spell damage enchants in IC patch, but i don't think so)OP there are some new sets that you might find helpful eg the Vampire Cloack set
http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Vampire+Cloak+Set
Being a Dunmer also increases your fire resistance so you might want to try that.
Alternatively a choice of good armour with bonuses will give you enough magicka/ self heals to protect yourself and have more survivability. eg sets that increase magicka a lot so your shields will be stronger.

And every time I've seen a vamp tank it's usually resulted in a group wipe. You may be good but that dont mean the vast majority are.
I'll say it again, the drawbacks are pointless for something (In the case of undeath) is not working 100% of the time and is something you need to handicap yourself for. The mitigation is useless to DPS and the regen is a joke. PVP it's vamps place, and werewolves, and that's just how it is.
