I would be spoiled if i didnt care for what i paid for..
Yet you say you've played other MMOs... so have I... and I also recall maintenance, server restarts, etc... with all of them. You're acting like this is something new or uncommon, and in the world of MMOs with megaservers, this isn't uncommon at all.

Previous games just added the time to your subscription.
Which previous games, because DCUO did not, and I'm sure many other worldwide megaserver online games do not as well. Further, how would they determine WHO gets the increased subscription, because clearly not everyone one of the million players is trying to log on and play right now. Plus, ZOS knows players will just come to the forum, vent, act like children, and then when the game comes back online... people will go back to playing and nothing further will be said... until the next maintenance and the process repeats.

I have been active in 4 MMO games for periods of time since 2003, it it had always been the case. If a person gets fussy about this they really need to figure out if perhaps the game is too important. There are other things to do when there is downtime. Honestly, they should consist of real life things. There should always be something else to do, otherwise life is not worth living.
DeadlyRecluse wrote: »Plus is what, 12 bucks a month or so, depending on your payment method.
12/30, so like 40 cents a day? There are plenty of things to be upset about with how ZOS runs this game, but I will never understand people complaining about maintenance or wanting these extensions. I mean, sure, it wouldn't hurt, but it really isn't a big deal.

A lot of you seem to be missing the point and instead choose to erect idiotic strawman arguments.
1) Yes, everyone can read a book or go for a walk if servers are down for an *unreasonable* amount of time. The point is the principle - we pay for a service, we expect that service. It is irrelevant whether or not people can entertain themselves in other ways.
2) I have been playing MMOs since 2001, and in every game - EQ1, WoW, LOTRO, when the servers were down for an *unreasonable* amount of time, players were compensated. It might be only for a few cents, but it is a gesture of goodwill on the part of the developers.
3) Of course server downtime is par for the course when it comes to MMOs. However, *unreasonable* downtime is *not* acceptable, and people have every right to complain when they are not getting the product that they paid for.

WELL SAID!
Except for this part...Yes, everyone can read a book or go for a walk if servers are down for an *unreasonable* amount of time
And I explained why in my post right after yours.
So if the servers were down for 6 months you'd be ok with that, since hey, *unreasonable* downtime is something we signed up for!!

Gotta do better than 1st grade arguments palof course action would be taken if downtime was that long.. but yeah, you still signed up for it when agreeing

"ZOS, refound me 8hs of my ESO+ time everyday because I can't play when i'm sleeping!"
No one is asking for this, and it's a pretty lame excuse for poor service. Do you expect your telephone to work in the middle of the night, when you're sleeping, in case of an emergency, or you have a pizza craving? If you can't sleep, wouldn't you expect your TV or Netflix to provide some boring content to lull you to sleep? How would you feel if these paid services didn't work when you wanted them to? How is ESO different when paying for a subscription? Again, reasonable disruption is expected, but extensive disruption equals bad service. Why does that concept seem so hard to grasp for some of you?
Firstly because it's a completely false analogy, a fixed telephone line is totally different to an evolving online computer game.
Secondly, because some of us don't consider the downtime with ESO to represent "extensive disruption", let alone disruption that is extensive enough to warrant compensation.

Thanks for making my point for me. Which is why I used this particular line of argumentation. When we sign up for an MMO, we expect *reasonable* not *unreasonable* downtime. You are making excuses for unreasonable downtime.
Is this poll a joke? Do you guys want a refund for fixing game? For working to make It better? That's not even funny. Thinking that way can only make that bugs won't be repaired, cause Zenimax will loose money this way.

Thank you for speaking up. I notice that a lot of commenters on these threads seem to think that their experience applies to the rest of the world. That if they are happy to pay exhorbitant prices, then everyone else should feel the same! That if they can go for a hike while servers are down for 8+ hours, then everyone else should be able to as well! That if they have never suffered from an in-game bug, then those in-game bugs *objectively do not exist*. It is as if they are incapable of looking outside their own little bubble and realizing that their personal experience is *not* the be all and the end all.

Whats also not funny is people claiming bugs getting fixed within maintenance and after maintenance the bugs are still very much in the game.

It doesn't matter what YOU expect, no where in the TOS does it say 'reasonable downtime' as defined by players... so the only thing you're doing is putting your own personal concept of what is 'reasonable' into the mix, but your personal concept has no bearing on ZOS or the TOS that you agreed to.

Technically no... most of us don't expect 'everyone should feel the same' but most of us realize that it is a personal CHOICE to play ESO, too many people act as if they are forced to play and forced to live with what THEY consider 'extended downtime'... but you're not. You can CHOOSE to leave the game behind, move on to something else, if you aren't happy with the agreement you made with ZOS in the TOS.

Missing an entire day of gameplay is not reasonable, especially as every other MMO has offered a free day when they have done this to players, it would appear that those who are arguing that unreasonable downtime is to be expected are those who are mistaken.

Lots of things are a personal choice, this does not mean that we should just roll over and accept bad service.

Defined by the industry standard that I have witnessed, yes.

In fact i did watch it,
but i dont fall the "sugar coating" on how difficult it is to fix these things,
it is theyr job, they get paid for it,
even though i watched it completly i think its insulting to try to "play this game" on us,
there are many more interesting and important things they can talk about in ESO live.
Another thing,
its also insulting how Gina and Jessica are giggling when they talk about very anoying bugs,
as if its something funny,
well these bugs arent funny and defenitly not something to giggle about from people that work for the company that is responsible for these fixing these bugs...
