This is not a post/poll about maintenance,
its about more then just that,
its about all the downtime, including regular maintenance.
We couldnt force ZoS into this because of the agreement we all had to agree with when we installed the game,
but i like to see what the average players that are active on the forum thinks about this.
ZoS will say that it is a "necesary evil" as defence on this in most cases,
heard this several times.
It would be if the bugs would really get fixed, some of them get actually fixed but overall its a mess.
This is the game that has the most downtime in a certain period of time by far then all the games i ever played.
I understand there has to be maintenance on live MMO servers but imo ZoS takes advantage of this.
So i think it would be more then fair if we get over 24 hours of downtime total in 30 days, the length of a ESO+,
all ESO+ subbers that had an ESO+ in that period of time get 24 hours added to ESO+,
i dont want money back because i didnt loose money,
i lost game time were i did pay for tho,
we pay for 30 days so give us 30 days.
I would be spoiled if i didnt care for what i paid for..
You're acting like this is something new or uncommon
Way back when, WOW used to refund paid time when they had extended downtimes. I seem to remember this in DAOC as well, but not certain on that one.

Taking a step back, I have to say that aside from release day on a new MMO I have never seen a weekly 4-6 hour regular maintenance, that is almost unheard of in most MMOs, they would have those long times when deploying major new content.
Weekly maintenance for most MMOs is under an hour.
Rift, GW2 and WoW all have less regular maintenance by far
I think myself, the OP and pretty much everyone online on these forums loves to see problems fixed, what I think most reasonable people see as pushing it is every Monday 4 hours scheduled maintenance with exceedingly common extensions to 8, 10 or even 12+ hours, that is hard to defend if you are trying to maintain any objectivity.

Previous games just added the time to your subscription.
DC Universe Online... uhm nope never played it.
No real interest either, It sounds to me like DCUO is just poorly programmed and an awful environment.
And Again I am not saying no maint, I am wondering at the duration and crazy extensions last minute that have become the norm.
I do have some experience with servers, maintaining database farms and I do understand required maintenance, I also understand that you need to weigh maintenance against disruption and time down against system usability.
There are times it is unavoidable, but when every week becomes another emergency extension, maybe it is time to look at your policies and procedures...
That is all.

Which previous games, because DCUO did not, and I'm sure many other worldwide megaserver online games do not as well. Further, how would they determine WHO gets the increased subscription, because clearly not everyone one of the million players is trying to log on and play right now. Plus, ZOS knows players will just come to the forum, vent, act like children, and then when the game comes back online... people will go back to playing and nothing further will be said... until the next maintenance and the process repeats.

But I don't think zos giving hand outs to players because of regular maintenances is a good idea. It could lead to zos delaying some bug fixes to not have to give away free eso+.

Poll isn't about regular maintenance, it's about regular overextended maintenance with no clear window or expectations set.
