Veteran Maelstrom Arena Weapons in DB

    So I completed vMael 7 times after the update already, and got 7 jewlery pieces, is that just "bad luck"? Also my friend completed 3 times in a row and she got 3 jewlerry, how is that an incentive to go back inside?

    There are many people quitting ESO because of the awful drop chances, especially since DB, with the polluted traits, it's impossible to get decent vMA weapons at all, not even theoretically like before. So it's those that were lucky enough pre-DB vs everyone else who will never have a chance to get them them anymore. As far as PvP goes, they might as well create a non-Maelstrom Weapons campaign.

    Anyway, come play Black Desert. Give ESO some rest. There will never be any change if you keep playing it or, even worse, keep giving ZOS money.

    Maelstrom Arena
    • Improved the rewards for Maelstrom Arena so now every level of the Arena is guaranteed to grant a set item.
      • Note: The only exception is the final Arena on Veteran mode, which may still drop a Maelstrom Weapon instead.

    Are you kidding me? So the last chest after the 1 - 3h solo arena in an MMO will still drop helmets instead of weapons 19 out of 20 runs? And then a random weapon with a random trait? Referring to this thread concerning the live servers.

    The leaderboard isn't being increased either. So most spots for the guaranteed weapons are reserved for those paying real money to cheaters on EpicNPC to run it for them and place them on the leaderboard.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno So, how is this a good idea? Usually you encounter design like this only in F2P games.

    The last chest in vMA is no different than it has been and no different than getting a master weapon from vDSA.

    I'm not making excuses, but I think a lot of players tend to forget that it's not "if I do it 100x's ill get 50 weapons", it's "every. single. time. a flip of the coin". The loot table doesn't roll your dice til you get to open the chest.

    Now that being said, I'm vehemently against the rng in here. I will firmly continue to believe that the best solution is a Maelstrom Shard that once collected eventually forms a Maelstrom Coin that can be used to purchase a lockbox with an RNG (to promote replay value by their logic) weapon or armor. Each lockbox says "Maelstrom 1 handed weapon" "Maelstrom 2 Handed Weapon" "Maelstrom Staff" and we can roll the dice on lockboxes, but we'd always end up with at least a type of weapon we might want even if we have to buy a dozen lockboxes to eventually get the trait we're hoping for.

    Of course. And that's why I wouldn't call into question the 50% drop chance if I get 5 jewelry pieces in 5 runs.

    But when I see a personal drop rate of far less than 50% and I see virtually everyone else having the same long droughts, then the likelihood that this is "just RNG" diminishes. It's at the point where I'm all but certain that they didn't implement the 50% weapon chance as promised.

    I got a Powered Resto after my run on Monday, I got Jewelry the time before that. I rarely run it more than once a week because its such a drain on gold and potions.

    I'll wait 1 or 2 weeks until people confirm it in game to also make sure they didn't decrease the Sharpened trait drop chance to 0.01%, or remove it completely. Then I might reinstall ESO and give it a shot.
