Very nice! Town capture is already in the works, but if it has tangible benefits outside of points and AP, such as your suggested "crop harvesting" from a nearby farm for the controlling alliance, that would be great! Towns don't really need to go Neutral though, as they aren't neutral even now; each of the main quest hubs (except Bruma) already has a controlling alliance, it's just based on the owner of the nearest keep rather than direct capture. If the farms, villages and estates became crop harvesting locations for the controlling alliance, what would happen to the mobs which currently inhabit those locations?

I like the idea of having a new Artifact (that's the collective name for Scrolls) that could be captured without requiring ownership of a certain number of keeps.

Extra capture locations like Towers is a great idea. If Resources were made more useful, and at the same time made a bit more difficult to capture, adding Towers would maintain the option of capture points with comparable difficulty to the current Resources.

There are only three City Isle bridges (not six), but it would be great if they were rebuilt and gave you direct access to the city Districts from outside.

One of the main issues with zerg tactics in cyro is the objectives .

A group of 3-8 can't easily take a keep. Any equal size group on the other side will easily defend, especially with siege working the way that it is. Siege should damage everyone in it's radius, not just enemies. So if you can't do it with 8 you need 12 ... 18 ... 24 ... that's ONE of the ways small groups fail in cyro.

The over all objectives are not built for a small groups to take. A small group has a better chance defending. If you don't like working siege then go gank people or hope to find some one in IC. Oh but in IC the objective is to take flags so you get bonuses so "welcome zergs."

The other issue is the scoring and bonuses. Why does the winning team get a buff? Why does the guy earning the most AP get a buff to help him win harder? It's a terrible concept. If your team is below pop you should get a buff. If you're team is struggling to stay on the map then you need a buff. These games built around progression and rewarding the successful only give you more reason to zerg up.

DC owns a map. I should roll my DC toon and farm AP so that I can get gear, etc. I'll be the zerg rather then spending my day running for 10 mins to die to a zerg with in 3 seconds of combat to run and repeat over and over. The reward should be there for the lower population to get people to even out the battle. You need P for people to PVP against. How many PVP based games die with shrinking population? There's so little suport of PVP in ESO because ... the population is shrinking. I think that started with gaps between players at launch. Battle leveling to V1 with a max cap of v12, Alliance skills, etc ... Stupid concept. New PVPERs are just fodder for the experienced. Who wants to constantly lose? So you Zerg or your get frustrated and quit.

The other issues with this open world AvAvA style is there is no alternative. Making more and more uncapped objective based capture the [insert item here] just means more of the same. ]Duelers have to organize on there own and hope the rest of the population respects them. Why is it up to the player to find an alternative? ZOS should be providing it. I mean if you don't like raid trails but want to take on a trial you could 4 man VDSA or you got VMA. But if you don't want to AvAvA ... that's all up to you. Good luck.

Where does dueling fit in the scoring of cyro? It really doesn't but there isn't a place you can que up for dueling. Dueling goes beyond 1v1, but it's always even numbers. No one can claim zerg tactics there. If you create small man objectives whats to keep the groups doing them small? Will there be a cap? No it will be Zerged out as well.

The power of the zerg will always exist. Zerging is, and pretty much has always has been the best tactic in PVP situations. You over come Numbers with technology like the machine gun, or air support. But what happens when the Zerg brings machine guns and air support? Simple. They still win ... most of the time.

Zerging is not 40 vs 20 or any other specific # of people in a group. If you're in a group and you attack a smaller group you are zerging. Zerging isthe tactic of superior numbers to over power an enemy. It's like gang ***. If there's 2 of you and 1 victim you's a gank ***.

My biggest issue with PVP is there is NO honor. There is no "Let Bill fight and see how he does and if others jump in we will too." Nope its lets *** this guy over and over with out conscience and IF his friends come along and ruin our Zerg ganking spot and then fall back to the next spot.

There are a ton of silly concepts in this game that I believe ruin PVP ...

Stealth ... stealth is far to powerful. You should not be able to hide in plain sight. No special skill should be needed to spot a dozen people "hiding" in a well lit field with nothing obstructing them. Cloak is a skill and there are vanishing pots and that's all good. But to simply crouch and disappear completely from view is silly. It empowers Zergs/gank groups. If you want to hide you should be behind something ... tall grass, trees, etc or use a skill that has a cost and time limit, etc. If you've ever seen a movie were the parents come home in the middle of the party you know its not that easy to hide a large group of people. There is no reason I should see things that your body should clearly be obstructing simply because you crouched. Sound is usually the give a way of people attempting to hide or sneak. For a person to be able to sneak directly where you are looking with in striking distance? For 12 ppl to be able to sneak with in striking distance? I got to call BS. I get this is a RPG and magic and spells and all, but there needs to be some rules to nature. Crouch simply isn't mystical enough for me to have to clueless roll into an ambush of more then 4 people. If you want to change it to camouflage that would be given away when people move or slow them from being able to perform specific actions ... I could buy that. But even camo can be spotted. Some one crouching ... come the F on.

Siege ... Already mentioned but again ... Firing a mass of burning material that does no damage to friendly people, but does to enemies is just horse crap cooked up to empower zergs. Siege should hurt EVERYONE in its radius. If I'm taking a flag and siege falls on me it should hurt gaurds, other NPC, MOBS, rats, spiders ... and EVERY playing characters in its radius.

The Alliance skill line ... So these skills clearly empower zergs. It's literally the zerg tool box. Sure some benefit small groups and solo play but they are built around AvAvA to help with massive group combat ... then we all complain about the massive group power. Really? The Zerg v Zerg v Zerg is what this game is designed for. To bad it can't support it (performance) and offers no alternatives to it's players.

      Classes are not special.
Every magicka build uses Harness and or Healing Ward. Even those with shields in their class. Sorc stacks hardened wit these shields, and the DK and Templars shields are so effing weak because of battle spirit they are not widely used.

Every stamina build uses Vigor and Rally, and Rally BUFFs Vigor. Pretty much 2 handed equals stamina class.

Templar (the healing class) has no heals for stamina builds. BOL scale off magicka. What's templar like about Stamplars? Spears. Mean while look at NB and DK. They're maintain the class identity between stamina and magicka. Most of their utility skills cost magicka but don't scale off magicka and therefore are the most powerful stamina classes. Reflective Scales always reflects projectiles regardless of your build. Cloak always makes cloaks regardless of your build. However BoL scales off spell damage and Hardened Ward scales on Magicka ... So their two "OP" class defining skills in those classes stink out loud on stam builds and they are given not much else for fear of over powering magicka builds. See Battle Spirit below.

The 2 hander line has gap closer, buffs, heals, CC, DD, and execute ... It is the stamina skill line. If you get some of these things in class, chances are you still need to equip it for something else. Templar lacks the gap closer, buff, heals, and execute. DK needs the gap closer, DD, and execute. NB can use the buffs and heals. Sorc ... Needs all the help they can get. Duel Wields buff duration is nice but doesn't provide a gap closer, enough healing, and while it executes its not as bursty. I'd love to use Sword and Board and Bow on my Stamplar. Of course NB get Gap closer, DD, and execute in class. It's amazing that even the super well supported NB needs the 2 Hander. You just can't really get away from it. It is the stamina class.

      Battle Spirit ...
This is simply unacceptable. The fact that every person on these forums isn't frustrated and angry over Battle Spirit effecting Shields and heals is amazing to me. How can it possible acceptable that they game is balancing around Battle Spirit rather then balancing OUT Battle Spirit?!?

Healing is to powerful. Everyone knows it. PVE has been designed around it for the past year. WHY? Why wasn't it scaled away from damage? How does it make sense that investing in Damage makes you survival stronger? This is what happened to so much of the templar class. Every one of their survival/damage mitigating skills has been nerfed because even 50% nerf to healing isn't enough to balance out healing in PVP. Think about it. When you're healing players in PVP they are no smaller health pools. Infact they are 5k larger so shouldn't healing be increased by around 20%? Healing needs to be reworked to scale some other way or NOT to scale at all, just flat rates.

Magicka shields. No one is complaining about stacking Sun, Igneous, or Bone shield with any other shields. They are complaining about stacking magicka shields: Hardened Ward, Healing Ward, and Harness Magicka. Magicka ... there's a no brainer on wheather you invest in magicka. Attribute points OBVIOUSLY go to magicka to optimize dps builds giving them more powerul magicka based shields. In a way this is fair in that stamina has other options that are severely limited to magicka builds (stamina for CC break, dodge roll, block, Shuffle, etc), but to scale it off something that requires no thought or plaining to optimize both DPS and survivability is plan and simple sloppy game design and screws the stamina sorc and health based shields. How do you build a glass cannon? Your glass cannon heals "like a truck" with very little need to push for stronger shields and still has the option of stacking 2-3 magicka based shields.

Magicka shields are clearly OP in PVP after the Damage reduction of battle spirit, but clearly the damage reduction needs to be there since ZOS failed to design the PVE content around the potential for players to TAKE damage rather then the players ability to DEAL damage. That damage continually increases. We used to think 15+k was good dps. Now we're looking at 30+k. That's a hell of jump in about 6 months. What's happened to Armor, resistances, etcs in that time? They just received their first increase with DB and it wasn't anywhere near the rate of increase in DPS.

They need to add the imperial city island to the map instead of the stupid invulnerable Daedra in front of broken bridges.

      The town captures are planned.

IC super active is Cyrondil less active. More to do in Cyrondil instead of everyone just going to IC is the goal, no?

My opinion is that the way to make Cyrondil better is to divert people from zerging keeps to other locations. The town captures will help, but adding the Imperial city exterior is the key.

I love Ishammaels ideas presented here. Making Cyro more than just a lot of pony-simulator-landscape between preferred zerging points could really help to break up things a little and make playing there more interesting and variable.

Also, I love the idea of remodelling rewards by not just giving random prizes but rewards that allow you to buy what you REALLY want and what you would be working for.

There are also some things from Essagias post that I think should be considered. One I would call realism in the game:

Totally right, in my opinion. There is a lot of other examples to add: why can't I use enemy sieges if I capture them to shoot back? Why will I automatically be uncovered when someone runs into my caltrops, even if I'm 100 meters away? Why can I be hit by a jesus beam, even if i manage to get a massive rock or wall between the caster and me? More realism would make the game more interesting because unclever behavior had unclever consequences.

      Second, the rewarding:

Fighting buffs are troublesome, but why not giving AP buffs or debuffs with regards to your population status? It could be positive motivation to leave a campaign when it's dominated by your own alliance and to join a campaign where it's the other way around.

Towns are already coming though hopefully it's not some half assed attempt with no real benefit to participating. I suggested fighting over nodes for columbine and stuff around the map a long time ago, so I'd be surprised to see that actually gain traction. Please ZOS? I also can't see them adding anything that isn't already there, such as a temple. A tower maybe, but understand they're not going to add things to the game just to make it more fun. It has to fit the lore, and currently the lore says that's the way Cyrodiil looks right now.

All the mats should be "stealable". Similar to how tel var works, you should farm the perfect roe, yellow gear upgrade mats, etc. But it should be able to be taken if killed.

You'd punish the attacking forces. They are at least forced to place the camp away from the keep as a side effect of being offensive.

There are some great ideas here, OP. I think the best pieces to work on first are those that weaken choke points on the map and give small-scale groups some meaningful / manageable objectives.
