If I understand this correctly this seems like a rather odd change. Why move the block cost reduction from a tree that gives you bonuses for blocking with it's passives to a tree that is all about avoidance and vice versa?

... and where am I going to get all them Thief CPs from? :<

Do like the buff to Fortress and Sturdy and the room this gives for heavy armor to develop beyond just the block-cost-reduction armor.

the only possible reason that comes to mind (other than ZoS sitting round a table with a bottle of skooma one night) is that this is to help the "dress wearing LA magicka users" in PvP that go round with Sword & Board. Not Tanking as we know it, but just giving more protection and reducing the cost of it.

First you remove bracing, now this? It doesn't make any sense, and completely ruins my champion point build. Please ZOS, stop going insane and change this back. Block cost reduction make sense for the Steed. Shadow tree is about being elusive, not tanking... plus then I will have to take points away from my stamina cost reduction and other trees to switch over to the Shadow tree. All this does is nerf PvE tanks even more...

I think the problem they have with enchanting is that there is no great way to "find" the v16 potency runes in the wild. In battle leveled zones, you trip over v15 runes all day, but the only way to get v16 runes is to fight mobs, hope they drop glyphs, and disenchant them and score a potency rune.

Why don't just give max leveled enchanters a 50% chance (40% chance?) to get a v16 rune from a potency node?

Alternatively, you could make potency runes AVAILABLE from enchanter merchants as long as they were not the SOLE SOURCE of obtaining them. In short, you keep fiddling with enchanting when it ISN'T BROKEN. Seriously, just leave it alone, it really isn't broken. It's a pain in the butt to level and it's supposed to be.

If there is a need to balance enchants with the new poisons, why not just make the enchants equally effective by adjusting their power accordingly?

BTW- THANK YOU for not totally screwing templars by not breaking our cleanse.

[*]Ravage Stamina and Ravage Magicka poisons are only increasing costs by 30%, instead of the intended 60% cost increase.

This has got to be a typo! It was already ridiculous that they made abilities cost 30% more and now you're doubling it! If this is your idea of rebalancing poisons, just take them out of the game before everybody leaves because of it.

It occurs to me that after going on Tamriel Foundry and elsewhere, and looking at various tank builds, it is looking like they are making some of these changes to tanks to ostensibly force you entirely out of selecting any and all DPS-related Champion Points and *only* selecting those nodes that affect your resources and blocking. No penetration, no criticals, no damage increases, none of that. Stamina reduction, etc is all you're going to be allowed to get.

No Thaumaturge fix for Biting Jabs? Stamplar DPS is in a bad place on live, Stamplar got barely any buffs in this patch, and are potentially actually being nerfed via this Thaumaturge change. Stamplars can't heal, are weak Tanks, stink in VMSA, cannot do DPS necessary for VMOL. This was supposed to be the Major Update that improved Stamina? Stamina Nightblades and Stamina Dragonknights look very good, but Stamina Templars and Stamina Sorcerers are still not very good. :-(

Please. Don't go suggesting crazy things. Bah, what am I saying. I am sure there is someone in the studio that would love to do this and this is already on the white board.
Right. They've either thought about this already, and it's already on the board, with this being the first stage of rollout, or they will realize that it's a crazy suggestion and will see that doing that exact thing to potency runes is just as crazy. If this is the ultimate plan for crafting, we should encourage them to stop it now, before it goes any further. If they want people to engage in crafting, making it harder for that to happen by restricting what mats can be gathered from the world is certainly not going to help.

I feel your pain, but at least stamplars have stamina morphs that actually deal damage unlike stam sorcs.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @Wrobel @ZOS_Finn Regarding CP changes to block cost reduction: What about characters that are used for more than one role?

The changes to the block reduction CP isn't just a nerf to tanking (directly via removing reduced block cost from the tree that gives you 75% more shield resistance and putting it into the green constellation, which is also required for resource management), it's also a hit to those who have characters that perform two or more different roles.

Right now I use my breton magicka DK as a tank and as a dd, as well as occasionally pvp. For damage dealing, I need the CPs in magicka regen and magicka cost reduction. For tanking, I need them in block cost reduction. With these changes, no matter where I put my green points, I'll be losing out. There will be no way to conciliate the two. I can't get the best out of CP for damage dealing without hurting my tank setup, and I can't get the best out of CP for tanking without hurting my damage dealing set up.

Please, please revert this change. This will hurt many people who don't have a character dedicated to just one role in dungeons.

Great, with these CP changes I can only use my character for tanking in PvE and nothing else. Forget trying to DD, Heal and PvP with no sustain since I'm forced to have to use the reduced block cost CP next patch to tank that's stupidly now in the green tree.

I like some of the changes but sending block expertise to the shadow tree is a big nerf for sword and shield players. Also, three of my characters have CPs in block expertise so that means 9000g to respec. Are you gonna give us free respecs when DB comes out? Lastly, where's the black fur skin for the berserker ultimate? Seriously, I'm starting to think you're trolling us on that one. Anyways, there's still 3 weeks left until the release of DB so I'm gonna stay hopeful.

I love it how some of the same people who LOVED the sorc hardened ward duration changes are complaining about the block CP 'fixes'.

Can't we just undo both? Neither are any good. Less defense and lower TTK aren't fun for anyone.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I humbly as you and the rest of the Zenimax Online Studios team to not move the Perks of Elusive and Block Expertise as they are well place right now in live. Tanks have been nerfed a few times in the past and this change could topple them. As I who have tanked in the past and till now believe that the change is unnecessary as this provides no benefits to another playstyle. I could understand no stamina regen while blocking but this is not acceptable.

There was plenty of outrage over the stem regen nerf and they didn't budge. I'd hazard a guess that this is another unwarranted change for PvP, but I figured the non-CP campaigns would make Champion whining less of a problem. Either way, the more I look at this change the more utterly crippling it seems...

There is absolutely no reason for this change. Resource management is a chore for tanks as is. You already took stamina regen while blocking away, you're removing Bracing from Heavy Armor and now you're trying to kill our main source of resource management by trying to force us to invest our Thief CP into block cost reduction instead of helping us manage the rest of our resources with Magician/Warlord/Arcanist/Mooncalf. Not to mention the Steed still has the Shield Expert passive to increase the armor on our shields so now we have nothing really worthwhile to invest in that tree to warrant investing 75 Warrior CP to unlock said passive apart from Resistant (which is only helpful in PvP) and Spell Shield (which is almost laughable due to primarily how easy it is to get Spell resistance as well as the changes that made it give a flat increase to spell resistance instead of a %)

If this change goes thru, I'll see absolutely no reason for me to continue tanking at all because it's becoming incredibly clear ZOS doesn't want Tanks in their game.

30% isn't TOO bad. A 3K-ish attack will cost 4K-ish. It'll be a good reason to stack more cost reduction instead of damage.

The problem of course, is how much better that is than a weapon enchant for a resource battle.

Unless this is a bug, I am pretty sure they won't realize this is a "crazy suggestion". For one thing, it would be deliberate, so they would obviously think this is a great idea.

Obviously, this solves the problem of too many Potency runes, and not the right kind. We should only need one level of Potency rune, anyway. Everything else just takes up our limited bag space.... oh... yeah, the unlimited crafting bags. Right. Well, this way we are always going to get the Potency rune we need, so no more farming for hours only to come up empty handed. After all, it is not like we will be able to buy the Potency rune at a merchant, if we really need it... oh, wait, Potency runes will be sold by merchants. Hmmm. Did I mention that we really only need one level of Potency rune, anyway?

Meanwhile, we are drowning in Ta runes. Maybe they will give us a slingshot and open them up for PVP.

Are you kidding me man? Magicka Sorcs have the best burst in the game. Sure they have no spammable DPS (btw neither do stamsorcs other than weapon abilities, and if you want one as a mag sorc, use destro) but they do NOT need a spammable DPS.

Right there boys, I've spotted the not so rare ignorant forum poster.

So A. the best burst award goes to nightblades
and B. who cares about PvE, right? It's not like Sorc has the absolute lowest PvE DPS or anything.

By the way, "use a destro" is just pidgeonholing us into having less build variety.

Actually in PvE, stamina nightblades have even lesser DPS. Unless you heavily invest in cost reduction and regen gear, you will be out of stamina every few seconds.
